Gray POV~
It all happened so suddenly, really. But I guess, a good thing did come after it, after all.
*Ringggggggg* I looked down at my phone on my lap. Picking the tv controller, I pressed it off, and picked up my phone. I saw a call from Magnolia's Hospital.
'The hospital?! I hope nothing bad happened to Natsu.' I thought worriedly. Oh how wrong I was. So terribly-terribly wrong.
"Hello?" I answered with.
"Yes, is this Mr. Gray Fullbuster?"
"Ugh... Yeah that's me? Can I help you with something?"
"Are you by chance a relative to Mr. Natsu Fullbuster?"
"Natsu? Yeah, he's my husband. Did something happened?!" I replied with.
" I'm... I'm so sorry to say this but... Mr. Fullbuster has been in an accident. A car accident. He... He didn't make it...." He kept rambling on and on, but I didn't notice. My mind stopped processing at the words 'Natsu' 'accident' 'didn't make it'.
Without a second thought, I was out of the house and running towards the hospital in no time. All the while tears were falling down my face, and my teeth and fist's were clenched tightly. When I got there, I immediately ran towards the front desk.
"Natsu! Where's Natsu Fullbuster?!" The women saw my frantic look and quickly searched into her computer.
"Mr. Fullbuster is in Room 777, sir." She paled at the room number. She seemed to know what the room was used for; where the dead stay. I immediately ran, passing through patients and visitors. After coming towards my destination, I came to a stop, after a while of taking a deep breath. I went inside, immediately my heart sanked to my stomach and a sharp gasp got stuck in my throat.
In front of me was my lover. A pale, unmoving, lifeless, dead, Natsu. A harsh loud sob took over me, I ran towards him and wrapped my strong arms around his cold, limp, unmoving chest.
"NATSUUUUUU!!!!" I wailed.

It was almost about visiting hours, when I finally got the courage to leave. Before leaving, I turned towards the rosette one last time. "See you later, my love." With one last kiss to the lips, I left. Though, I didn't leave the hospital yet, I couldn't, so I wondered around aimlessly.
I didn't stop, until I bumped into some random double doors. Looking up, I saw a sign saying: Adoption Center. 'Weird. I never saw this part of the hospital before.' I though. Looking besides the door was a glass mirror, it showed all the orphans inside.
One particular toddler stood out from all. Pink. Pink hair. The little boy laid on his back on the wall, playing with a toy red dragon, alone. He looked so lonely and depress. Just like me. For some unknown reason, it seemed he knew I was looking at him, so he looked towards me. Our eyes instantly connected. Immediately a gasp escaped me. He... He looks just like.... Like Natsu? 'No... No way!... How can that be?!'
Without any warning, I entered inside, and immediately the staff inside looked up at me. He walked up to me.
"Yes, can I help you? Are you looking forward to adopting someone?" He immediately started off. I also didn't hesitate to reply back. "Yes." I didn't care if this was so sudden.
"Whom would you like to adopt, sir? There's from all different ages; from babies, toddler's, kid's, to even underage teen's. I can show you all of them if you'll lik-."
"-No!" I immediately cut him off. He looked startled at the sudden interruption, before I instantly apologized. "So-sorry. It's just I've already saw someone I'll like to adopt."
He smiled instantly. "That's great news then! And who'll that be?" I was about to answer him when I suddenly felt a tug on my lower leg right pants. Looking down, I came face to face with the little pinkette, his little toy dragon was tucked against his chest.
"Mi-Mister?" He struggled to say with a small voice and a tilt of the head to the side. 'So cute~!' I thought, looking back up to see the gentle smile on the staff's face.
"I would like to adopt him." I said confidently.
"Oh!~ I'm so glad!" He replied back with. I smiled down at the little Sakura haired toddler, who was staring back at me with curious and confuse big green eyes. I bent down to be eye level with him.
"What's your name little buddy? I'm Gray." He seemed to concentrate hard before replying with, "I'm Sum... Summer." I internally gasped. It being shocking was an understatement. 'No way. No way can this be all a consequence. Reincarnation? Maybe. Who knows?'
"Summer, huh? It suits you. Perfectly, even." I replied with. He seemed to let it sink in before beaming at me with his all to familiar toothy-goofy grin. I couldn't help but to chuckle in return.
"So Summer, how would you like to come with me? We can have lots of adventures together. Just the two of us. Traveling around, exploring. So what do you say?"
He didn't waste a second before a loud, "YES!" came out.
I picked him up from under his arms, in return, he wrapped his tiny arms around my neck, one hand still clutching onto his toy red dragon, before I stood up. I looked towards the staff, honestly whom I forgot was still there, before we went off to do the paper work for adopting him. While that was happening, all the while, Summer didn't let go. The opposite happened, however. His grip tighten more, before he rested his tiny head on my right shoulder and buried his face into my warm neck. With my free hand, I raised it and brushed it through his soft silky smooth pink hair. Not a few minutes later, I heard soft small snores coming from the tiny rosette. Smiling gently and warmly down at the toddler in my arms, I saw a sight I won't be forgetting anytime soon or probably ever; a happy, sleepy smile on his tiny chubby face.
And that's when it finally sinked in; I just adopted and gotten myself a son. BUT one I won't be regretting. EVER. And one I would NEVER stop loving and caring, forever. And that was just the beginning.

( Time skip: 7 years later. Summer's 10 year's old. Gray's 25 year's old.)
"DADDY!" Little foot steps were heard running, before stopping besides me.
"Yes, Sum-chan?~" I said teasingly.
"I told you to stop calling me that! It's embarrassing! I'm not a kid anymore!" He shouted, madly blushing, obviously embarrassed. I couldn't help but to chuckle at his adorable reaction.
Suddenly, a mischievous grin appeared on my face. "Is that's so? Hmm?" I said.
He looked up at me a little fearful. "Da-daddy?" He said in a small voice.
The next thing he knew, he was giggling madly, thrashing on the floor. "Da-daddy... Ple-please... St-stop!" He said in between giggles. I, in return laughed evilly, tickling him in his stomach even more and faster.
"DA-DADDY!" He screeched out, laughing in a fit of loud giggles, small tears fell down his face. I couldn't help but to laugh at his reaction.
"Okay, okay, I'll stop." I said suddenly, finally stopping. He laid on his back, panting, breathing heavily.
I sat besides him, watching him catch his breath, before he started to compose himself. He sat up, crossing his legs criss-cross and his hands planted inside his legs, looking up towards me.
"You alright, kiddo?"
"Yeah, I'm okay."
"Ha! You fell for it! You just admitted you're a kid!"
"Dang it! Am not!"
"Are to!~"
"Am not!"
"ARE TO!~"
"DADDY!!!~"
"NATSU!!!~" Oops! SHIT!!! My bad!
"Natsu?" He said looking at me confused and with something else unknown.
"Ugh...." I looked anywhere but Summer's curious eye's. What he said next startled me, and to say it was shocking and surprising is a huge understatement!
"You know Natsu, too?!" He said in wonder and shock.
"What?!" I said, staring at him flabbergasted at what he just said. 'Does he?... No way!... It can't be.'
"I... Ugh... A while ago, I sometimes get these weird dreams at night about some boy named Natsu. I can never see him clearly, just his big smile, everything else is always foggy, but there always seems to be some kind of weird but familiar bright light surrounding him. A cheerful laughter echoing around him before I wake up. It's always the same dream with him. It's the reason why I called for you, today." He finished off, confessing.
"Daddy? How do you know him?" He suddenly questioned me. I stood there frozen, thinking things over, 'I guess Natsu really IS his reincarnation. Funny. The day I lost him, I somehow gotten him back. I guess destiny just wants us to always be together even if this life is somehow different from our previous. At least we'll always be together. I think it's finally time I tell him the truth.' I snapped back to reality realizing I never did responded to his question.
"It's... Ugh... It's a very, very long story."
"Don't worry daddy, we got plenty of time. Go ahead."
And so I did, I begin telling him the story of Natsu Salamander Dragneel Fullbuster, my one and only lover, and the reincarnation of my adopted child. I told him everything; from the day we both met to the day I met Summer. And I confessed that he was the reincarnation of my lover.
When I finally finished off, I stood up, checking the nears clock to find out it was already half way close to midnight. 'Damn. It took longer then I thought it would.' I looked down at the little rosette in front of me, green eyes shinning with amazement and awe at the story, but had a sleepy edge towards it, as well. I couldn't help but to chuckle, which got his attention.
"Why don't you go to bed, Summer. It's already past your bedtime."
"Okay." He yawned not a second later. He got up to leave but suddenly stopped and turned towards me.
"Oh! I totally forgot to ask, but why DID you call me Natsu?"
"Hm? Oh that, well, Summer in Japanese is Natsu. So I guessed it slipped out. Natsu, well, he was the definition of summer. He was always bright, and positive about everything, so full of never ending energy, as well, and a good loyal friend to anyone, someone who you can trust anything and everything with, but also someone who forgets things easily. He was such an airhead~. But he had a strong passion for everything, making everything and anything into a challenge, even waking up every morning. Everyday he would wake up ready for the world to throw anything and everything at him and in return he would became stronger. He loved watching sunrise's and sunset's whenever he got the chance to, because it reminded him of a new beginning and a ending. Wanna know something? His grave is right where the sunrise's and where the sunset's, so know matter what, he'll alway's be looking at it. Wanna know a weird fact? He never once gotten cold, never, he was always mysteriously and strangely hot and warm. From just a few meters away from him, you can feel his body heat. Everyone used to tease him and call him anything relating towards the heat. It was always funny to watch how his face flushed up like a bright flame. In a way, I guess, Natsu is Summer and Summer is Natsu." I said it sincerity, finishing it off with a far away look.
"I think I underhand now." He suddenly said bringing me to his attention. Looking towards him I saw a familiar look; a determination in those green eyes.
"Huh?" I said confused.
"That dream... that I have about him, it's the sun." He confirmed.
"The sun?" I question.
"Yeah, the bright light, it's the sun. The sun that is surrounding him, it's as if it's protecting him, in a way. As you said before, 'Natsu is Summer and Summer is Natsu', we are one of the same, yet we're different." I stared shocked at what he just said.
"You're right. You are one of the same, but yet you're different. Natsu's my lover and you, Summer, is my son." I said, walking towards him, stopping just right before him.
I picked him up from under his arms, and in return, he wrapped his little arms around my neck, I however, started walking towards his room up stairs, all the while Summer tighten his grip around my neck even more, before he rested his little head on my right shoulder and buried his face into my warm neck. I chuckled at his actions. 'You won't fool me.' Without a second thought, I raised one of my hands and brushed it through his still soft silky smooth pink hair. Not a few minutes later, I heard the same soft small snores coming from the little rosette. Smiling gently and warmly down at the child in my arms, I remembered the first time I carried him like this, looking down, I saw the same sight that I never forgotten; a happy, sleepy smile on his still, little chubby face.
"Goodnight, Summer. I love you."
"Goodnight, daddy. I love you, too." A sleepy mummer was heard from my neck.
