Guidelines & Payment

Rules

1. Please be patient: I would like to believe that you are all conscious of the fact that we humans have a life outside social media. If you weren't aware of that, congratulations, you're now.

2. Don't be rude: Rudeness or disrespectful nature is something I wouldn't tolerate at all. So, if you really have this creepy desire to make a reviewer's life a living hell, I'm not that person.

3. Kindly complete the payment: I'll be putting a lot of effort into your review, so it would only be fair if you put as much effort into completing the payment.

Types of Reviews

[General Review]

In a general review, I'll be going to make a detailed note on how well I thought your book was, what we're it's weak points, and how you can develop them.

The pattern of a general review will be as follows:

(For Novels & Short Stories)

•Title: -/5

1: Too cliche and not related to the book at all.

2: Unique but not related to the book at all.

3: Related to the book, but not much interesting.

4: Cliche but properly emphasizing the meaning of the book.

5. Unique and depicting the meaning of the book well.

Cover: -/5

1: A horrible cover

2: Too blurry to read the title

3: Average, can do better.

4: Nice, but maybe you should consider changing it

5. Superb and mind-blowing.

Summary: -/5

1: Does not provide any information about the book. It does not captivate or engage a reader.

2: Some relevance to the story, but it's unorganized and messy.

3: Summary is there, but does not leave the reader with questions.

4: Captivating and intriguing. Captures the reader, but needs some polishing.

5: Unique and engaging! It makes the reader yearn for more. Polished, organized and has a dramatic and powerful final line.

Grammar: -/5

1: Too many mistakes that it became cringey to read.

2: More mistakes than correct ones.

3: Noticeable mistakes.

4: Has very few mistakes. You could read the book smoothly without noticing the errors unless you looked hard enough.

5: Perfect. No grammatical errors. No incorrect use of punctuation. No typos.

• Character Building: -/5

1: Characters were similarly built. It was as if all characters had the same attitudes and attributes.

2: Jumpy.

3: Good enough. It doesn't leave much of an impression, but not bad either.

4: A few slip-ups on character discovery

5: Character built all the way through. Leaves a strong impression on the reader.

• Writing Style: -/5

1: Basic.

2: Slightly different from the basic layout.

3: No cohesion or flow.

4: Inventive, but slightly confusing.

5: Unique but easy to flow.

• Plot + Uniqueness: -/5

1: Not sure what the plot is about.

2: Follows the same storyline as others.

3: Treads the line between originality and uniqueness.

4: Somewhat cliché, but also had enough twists to keep it engaging and make me want to read more.

5: Completely differs in every way.

• Overall Feedback

I may choose to leave comments after each criterion or I may leave a long chunk of comments at the bottom of the review. I might scatter my feedback in your story using comments, and sometimes I might choose to leave it as a long comment at the end of your story.

OVERALL SCORE: -/35

(For Poetry)

Summary/Blurb: -/5

Summary and blurb are optional for poetry. If you would like your summary/blurb reviewed, let me know! The other things poetry reviews will look for are:

Grammar/Punctuation: -/5

Same as grammar and punctuation for regular stories. However, reviewers should keep note; some grammar/punctuation errors may be intentional choices.

Diction + Figurative Language: -/ 5

In other words, is the language utilized effectively? Are the literary devices metaphor, personification used in a discerning manner?

Meaning + Message Conveyed: -/5

Was there purpose behind the poetry, and was that purpose clear? Or was the poem simply too difficult to understand?

Emotions Evoked: -/5
Did I feel the poem?

[Some things you should know]

• While doing a review, I won't read any more than five chapters since I have a hectic schedule.

• Your review will take time as I'll be scrutinizing it with gentle care. So, please do not start bombarding me with messages until at least 2 weeks after your acceptance.

• I can decline your form if I feel that it does not meet my criteria or you have failed to complete the payment within one week of acceptance.

• If you've already read the first three chapters of my book, you're supposed to read the next three ones. If you've read Forbidden, you read the three chapters of my book 'Beyond the Veil'. Payment is mandatory, and you're not going away without completing it.

• I can come off as harsh sometimes, but trust me, I'm doing this to improve the quality of your book. It gives me no pleasure to downvote your book, nor do I have a fetish to make people feel inferior to me. Trust me, this is solely to help you become a better and learned writer.

I've faced such criticism too, and I've accepted it without any contempt towards the reviewer, because I know they get nothing by rating my story less. Maybe, that's why I'm standing here, much improved from the first time I started writing.

• A thank you comment is mandatory. If I review your book, it's your moral responsibility to thank me, whether you want to or not. It's hurtful to see that I'll be putting so much effort into typing your review, while you are just going to ignore me.

Read the first five reviews to understand what you are getting yourself into.

• I won't sugar coat anything. If I feel like your book needs improvement, it does. There's no good reason to argue with me about it because I have plenty more reasons to give you in response.

• If you try to misbehave with me after I've put up your review, I'll block you and showcase your misbehavior here in front of people. I do not tolerate such shit. I have enough on my plate as it is of now.

• Comments on my book Forbidden related to such things are not allowed and would tell me that you did not read my story. If you make these comments as payment, I'm not going to do your review.

Of course, if you make these comments along with genuine comments, I would be more than glad to know you like my work. But if it's the only comment on the whole chapter, you're not getting your review. Sorry.

"Wow, your writing style is so amazing! I wish to learn from your book."

"The chapter was amazing! My only advice is that it was too long. Cut it down a bit."

"I like the way you start your chapters and the notes on which you end them. And the way you name your titles is amazing!"

A kind request to my fellow readers: Please do not comment on the length of the chapters. They are long for a reason.
