8. The Senator's Son

I read this book in December 2019. This book is also a trilogy and is written by AnnaAlbo. This book is officially published and is now available on Amazon too.

However, this is a much better book than all those 'bad boy' cliques. It's a refreshing breath of air in the midst of poisonous suffocating gases named 'bad boys and shy nerds'.

In this book, the bad guy doesn't rule. The good guy does. And what is better than that? I'm glad I ended my year by reading her book rather than a boring smutty cliche for the sake of learning.

It's a famous quote: "In order to learn, either read something really bad or read something pure golden.''

I'm proud to say I'm a good follower of this quote. Now, onto the book. We shall not divert from the topic.

The Senator's Son, Zach is, in fact, a good guy in the story. Not like all goody shoes, oh my, not that. He smokes weed and pot occasionally, drinks too, but in his nature, he is an amazing person. He helps people, which is a glimpse we get in Chapter One itself when he helps Emma.

I have to give to Anna for making Zach's character so relatable. He's as cool as the coke in my hands, which is a good thing.

As for Emma; our main character, she is a fine character too. She's not stiff-backed, but she does not enjoy doing stuff like smoking weed or pot.

She is a cook by heart and has some nice qualities which make her more rounded. She really is a little bit brusque at first, but as her character develops, I start seeing the Emma behind the introvert shell.

The way they plan about their future in New York, Bianca's noteworthy tribute in the story, Meredith's unconditional love towards her daughter, the chemistry between Zach's sister and Em's dad, everything is nicely done.

I also loved the way you portrayed the fight between them in Book Two. It was just perfect. The fact that you did not lengthen the thing plotwise is a good factor. I've seen so many books where a character expresses their feelings in the 80th chapter, and sometimes, given facts to their traits, it becomes unrealistic.

You did not drag it on, and this is something I'm grateful for. Your grammar was spot-on too, and you had some amusing subplots going in your book, which you explained too (Most of the people don't do that, and it gets confusing).

The idea is unique, and the writing refreshing. Great job at penning this book! You might not know but this book in my 'Gems of 2019' reading list. I'd love to buy the paperback version of this book someday.
