Detective

_______

Oh Eunha stepped out her dark car, her black heeled boots sounding each step she took on the concrete of the car park. She looked around and spotted an ambulance, a small old man was sitting in the back with a blanket wrapped around his shoulders. A tiny dog was also by his feet.

Walking over she shook her dark hair out her face and smiled sympathetically at the man as he met her gaze. She pulled out her identification and showed it to the scared looking man.

"Hello, I'm Detective Oh. I've heard you've found something terrible when you were walking your little dog." She greeted, her voice light and soft. The man nodded weakly and glanced at her police ID. "What did you see exactly. If you don't mind telling me that is. I can understand how shaken you must be after witnessing such a scene." The shaking man just nodded weakly again, before licking his dry thin lips.

"I saw two bodies..." he muttered, his face and voice still indicating he's in shock. "One had a knife in his chest, and the other was hanging by his neck." He explained, his voice failing him by the end and cut him off.

"I see." Eunha said in a sad tone. "Well you're okay now. We have people here who will make sure you're okay and coping. Thank you for your help sir." She smiled softly before walking in the direction of the bodies.

The path was lined by yellow police lines, leading her right to the scene. The officers she passed nodded at her as they all knew who she was.

As she approached the cautioned off scene, one officer in guard lifted up the yellow tape for her. She ducked under and said a polite thank you as she walked towards the bodies she could now clearly see.

She stopped and took in the view before her. Grabbing a small notepad and pen out of her long black peacoat, she jotted down everything she saw.

'One body (male, young(?)) from view he is to have been stabbed in the chest with a knife. Knife is still lodged in the body and is covered in blood (the victims(?)).
Second body (male, young(?)) is hung by the neck from a tree. Blood covered hands and face (suspected killer(?)). No other obvious injuries from what I can see.
Judgement so far;
The victim was stabbed in the chest. The killer then hung themselves out of guilt.
Further investigation will need to be done.'

Eunha closed the small notebook and placed it in her pocket again, the pen she kept in her hands.

She walked up to the first body, with a knife lodged into his chest. An officer approached her and silently handed her a pair of latex gloves which she put on quickly as she crouched down next to the victim.

The body was resting against a tree trunk that was stained in blood, the large amount indicated the boy slid down after he was stabbed and dragged against the now red painted the bark.

Eunha looked at the knife and took note of its appearance

'Normal kitchen knife. Black handle, silver decorating on each end.'

Her eyes went from the obvious weapon and looked at the man's face which was mostly covered by his light brown hair. She frowned as she caught onto something in the collar of the man's jacket. Using her pen, she moved the collar down and exposed the man's neck.

She hummed to herself as he saw multiple stab wounds on the left side of his neck. She jotted down her findings immediately.

After finding the extra wounds, she decided to inspect his body properly. She grabbed his hand and rolled up his jacket sleeves, unveiling multiple scratch marks and saw that his nails had traces of blood on them.

'The murderer must be injured - scratch marks'

She scribbled in her book.

Knowing she wouldn't be able to do a full check of the body -as forensics would do that for her- she decided to inspect the other hanging body.

She walked over and looked at the box that was a small distance away from the man's feet. Making it look like a suicide.

Gently she took the man's arm and rolled his sleeve up, showing his arm was void of any scratch marks. Frowning, she checked his other arm which was clean also.

"Is there any chance you could lower the body down?" She asked an officer standing by. He looked at her with raised eyebrows and suddenly nodded quickly as her request registered in his head.

Eunha watched as the rope was cut and the body was gently and carefully lowered down.

"Thank you." She said and the officers left her alone to inspect the body.

Her eyes immediately were drawn to the rope around the man's neck. Using her pen again, she moved the rope up to expose the bruising closer.

'Marks indicating a struggle aren't present. The marks don't show any indication that the man died from hanging, but only show that of bruising caused from being suspended in this way.'

Standing up she looked at the head officer at the scene. He looked expectingly at the lead detective and waited for her view on the situation.

"I can say that this is defiantly a double murder. This body was hanged after he was already dead. There's no sign of trauma to the neck that there is when suicide is committed this way. The first body has been stabbed multiple times in the neck and other injuries are yet to be identified, along with the second body also." She said. The officers mouth hung open and he looked quite flustered.

"A double murder?" He asked and the detective nodded.

"Do we know who these people are?" Eunha asked, motioning to the two victims.

"Yes, I'll get you their reports now." He rushed and went to go grab two files. He handed them over to Eunha who opened them and looked at their photo cards.

She picked them up and wrote on the photos before stuffing them in her pocket and closed both the files.

"I'll be in contact. Get me a list of suspects done for me by tonight. I'll be on it tomorrow." She demanded and the officer nodded in understanding, watching as the detective strutted back down the forest trail.

As she sat back down in her car she grabbed the two photos from her pocket and studies them.

"I'll find your killer." She muttered to them, as if they were able to hear her. "No one deserves to be strung up like that, and left in a forest to be forgotten about." Eunha sighed and placed the pictures back in her pocket before starting her car.

She has a lot of hard work ahead of her.
