GAME OVER | Interstellar Graphics War Entry | Round 4
So to explain the story that I built on the prompt of "Sometimes We Need Fantasy To Escape The Reality."
The MC has an extremely rough home life, her parents are constantly arguing, her brother committed suicide two years ago because of a lot of things between school and home. She deals with the issues of bullying and having an undiagnosed learning disability, causing her grades to fall behind.
In order to escape the absolute Hell she believes her life to be, she enjoys video games, specifically VR games with storylines, specifically RPGs. A sequel to one of her favorite games debuts and she decides to use it in a day where her parents are growing particularly loud.
It was on that day, that the initiative called "Game Over" kicked into gear. Everyone logged into the game when it was set into place, was from there on trapped in the game. A connection within the headset had been set into their brains, connecting them there until the best the game.
The worst part? There is no respawn, if you die in game, you die in real life. The MC goes through many challenges throughout the process of beating the game and meets many people who become important to her. The game consists of ten extremely drawn-out trials, each similar to different dystopian ideas, such as The Hunger Games, The Maze Runner, or even The Walking Dead.
Can she make it out alive? How many people will she lose along the way? Will it matter, in the end?
