Some banners I made for an upcoming knb fic I'm writing :p

I'm still not really satisfied with the Akashi one. It has the effect I was going for with the two Akashis but I don't like the text. Normally I cheat by just sticking to black/white text but it just wasn't looking good because there was too much going on in the base background. I made my own color pattern instead (haven't done that in years!) and color patterns are always sort of iffy for me but it works fine enough. I think the issue with the Akashi one stems from the base background but I really could not find a better one lol

Idk if you can tell but I actually drew on the Akashi on the left. I gave him a smile because that Akashi is supposed to be Bokushi, and I even gave him an amber left eye but I don't think it's even visible anymore xd

Also, I found out my new favorite tool in PicsArt is blur. You can do some really cool shit by putting the focus on one area and blurring the rest. Normally my process is this, if you're curious:

PicsArt: basic blending and filtering (including blur); this is usually the most frustrating part
Phonto: adding text; this is usually the part in which I'm most dissatisfied (text just isn't my thing)
Pixlr: filters and overlays; overlays are fucking amazing but sometimes it's hard to stop myself from going overboard lol. If you couldn't tell, this is my favorite part

I've tried online Pixlr before as well as Photoshop and they're great, but I'm not a professional graphic designer and I don't see the need to use fancy programs when I'm just making things for fun. Mobile apps serve me well enough!!

Graphics are quite fun if I'm being honest, but it's hard balancing between graphic design and writing. I'm actually writing wfsitb's (we find solace in the broken is a bit of a mouthful) second chapter and it's becoming a bit tedious because going by what I have left for the chapter in my notes, there's still a lot to write about and I'm already at like 2000 words which is my preferred approximate limit. I find that for something like Wattpad, shorter chapters might be better. I am guilty of reading chapters on ao3 where it's like 10,000 words in a chapter and it's so good but at the same time there's just so much.

Anyway, I'm probably going to take a little break from writing (keyword: probably, I have zero self control) and do some homework. Wait...I guess that's not really a break lol. But I still have that paper due that I have not started and it's supposed to be like 10 pages long *internal screeching*

Look out for banners for Hayama, Mibuchi, Nebuya, and Kasamatsu?? (maybe)
