I'm writing while teaching one of the angels classes! Both of us are on mac so some things are only for mac (I've reinstalled Gimp so I have the latest version, I could help you describe it and be the same as you have). IF I MUST MAKE A WINDOWS TUTORIAL, SAY BUT: P

Open https://www.gimp.org and choose the red button

Now the orange button.

Open finder an open de dmg download

Open finder an open de dmg download. Open gimp.app. Copy gimp.app and paste it into your programs. Now you can always open it easily!

Open gimp now and start:

Window (top) -> mode only window

Click green button at the top to cover the entire screen

It also helps turn off the Dock, or you can not sit there? You can also do it again ^. ^ (It is not visible until you go over it) // system preferences -> dock -> Show / hide automatically

Again the green button, it will grow again: P

File (top) -> New -> 512 x 800

Find this character:

Then open a new layer, click on this character:

Then you will see this screen and click ok
