I have a mission for you guys.

(You stare at me with mixed expressions. Awe that I have returned. Confusion about who the heck I am. Boredom from quarantine. Eagerness to find out what I have planned.)

I need you... To bomb people.

(You all gasp in horror (or excitement, because some of you are slightly insane by now like me) and murmurs run through the crowd. I hold my hands up to silence you.)

Bomb people with votes.

It will be easy. It will be fun. It will take maybe five minutes of your time. But most of all, it will make someone's day. Just hear me out.

Remember when you first posted your graphics shop/portfolio/whatever and you were super excited (or terrified) that people will finally see the things that you've worked so hard on... But then no one really does for a while.

This mission is to help those who are just starting out and may need some attention. I've been doing this for a while on this account and another one that I'm more active on. There's some really great graphics out there that deserve to be recognized.

So here's my process to finding portfolios to vote bomb. You can do this or find your own method.

1. Go to your own portfolio shop whatever (and if you don't have one, just use mine) and go down to the tags that you may or may not have. Pick one of the tags that actually has to do with covers or design or whatever.

2. Go over to the "New" tab. This tab is for the books that have recently updated that have that tag, so there will be some more popular books there too. However, here you're more likely to find the lesser known.

3. Pick a target. I tend to look for portfolios that are under 100 votes, but I say just go with your gut on who needs it.

4. Vote and comment! I tend to just go through the whole book and vote on everything, but if that seems a little extreme to you then once again you do what feels right to you. I also comment on covers that catch my eye and are super cool. Or if the designer is asking for help/tips and I'm actually able to help them.

5. (OPTIONAL) Comment or post on their message board about how much you enjoyed their graphics. Send a little bit of extra positivity their way. Then maybe invite them to do the same thing for someone else. The more people doing this, the better. You can tell them to PM me for details or just tag them in this chapter.

There are some amazing designers out there who are new to this and still trying to get out there. Just because they don't have a lot of votes doesn't mean they don't deserve a lot of votes. Five minutes of our time can really make their day.
