say you found a nice and aesthetic picture. perfect for your cover. but wait. it's a square. tRiGgErEd. as long as it is like a flat one color, you're okay. if not, well stay triggered. though it might look fine after adding a few filters

in order to make it a cover size you need to use PicsArt.

first off tap that big + button and click 'edit' →background

pick any free background . it will be covered anyways so who cares.

go to tools→crop and type in the correct size

click 'add photo' and well add your photo lol and click that ✓

click that icon with a square and circle. And do that ↑↑

then tap that icon underneath the ✓. that detects colors. drag it to the color you want it to detect.

then, just draw a big rectangle.

and you are done. you can save it and add your title here or phonto. (that is just an ugly PicsArt font) and or add a nice filter. for these graphics, I recommend this filter. it gives a good bad quality.
