At Singhaniya Mansion

Everyone was having dinner at the dining table. Gautami said "vineet tumhe nhi lagta ghar mein ab koi aur bhi aana chahiye?"

Vineet looked at her and understood "maa main samajh raha hun aapki baat.. But abhi sirf hamara target manvi ki padhai honi chahiye aur kuch nahi"

Gautami smiled "ye bhi sahi baat hai"

St. Xavier's School

Manvi passed by the principal office, she heard a conversation. She recognised the voice, she looked and was shocked seeing the person. It was none other than Arjun, her ex-fiance.

He came out of the room and saw Manvi. "Tum.. yahan kya kar rahe ho?" she questioned him.

"Ye school mera hai.." he replied.

He walked ahead, Manvi thought is he her well wisher?? She followed him and asked "tum hi ho na.. Jo meri madad kar rahe they?"

He looked at her silently.

Manvi asked "kyun? Kis liye Arjun?"

"Because... main apne aapko abtak maaf nahi kar paaya hun meri wajah se tumhari itni insult hui thi uss din. Aur tumhe itni aasani se mujhe maaf kar diya but main khudko nhi kar paaya" he said in guilt.

Manvi just smiled.. "Arjun thank you but mera yakeen karo jo hua wo meri kismat thi.. Aur main ab bahut khush hun wo mujhse bahut pyar karte hai shayad jitna main deserve nahi karti"

"I am happy for you.. Agar kabhi meri zaroorat ho toh bata dena" he said.

Manvi nodded..

She went to the class, and the timetable was given. She saw it and it was a board exam timetable. She panics seeing it.

Tara said "kya hua Manvi?"

"board exams itni jaldi aane waale hai aur main abhi ready bhi nhi hun" she replied.

"relax agar hoga to I will help you" she said

Manvi smiled.

She went back home. She was feeling a bit dizzy, do not know the reason for it. She sat down on the couch holding her head. Gautami just returned from the neighbour's house and saw her.

She asked "kya hua Manvi beta?"

"kuch nahi maa bas thoda sa chakkar aa raha tha" she replied.

"jaake rest karlo stress mat lo zyda" Gautami said in concern.

Manvi nodded and she went to the room. She sat down on the bed holding the pillow in her hand.

After some time Vineet entered inside, she found her studying. She tends to be lost somewhere.

He asked "kya hua?"

Manvi looked up at him and said "aapko pata hai 2 months mein boards exam hai aur ek mahine baad pre boards.. Mujhe to bahut tension ho rahi hai"

He said "isme problem kya hai.. Bahut time hai tumhare paas aaram se ho jayega"

She smiled.. "aap hai saath to ho jayega"

He kissed her forehead. She said "mujhe aapko kuch batana tha"

He nodded.. "kaho"

She replied with a smile "aapko pata hai school mein Arjun hai jisne meri help ki thi" she told him everything.

He said "Manvi.. Kuch to Acha kiya usne"

Manvi smiled.. "but usse door rehna" he warned her.

Manvi questioned "aapko jalan hui!?"

He denied "no.."

She laughed...

As time passed by, she began preparing for the pre-boards. It was her first exam and she just screwed it up. She came home dejected..

Gautami asked "kya hua itni upset kyun ho??"

"Maa exam kitna ganda tha.." she replied, making a face.

"Koi baat nahi pre boards hi hai.." Gautami said.

"Par agar fail hui toh? Board exams mein baithne nahi denge.." she replied.

"Aisa kuch nahi hoga tum relax karo aur next exam ki tayari karo" Gautami said encouraging her.

Manvi agreed...

It was night time, she was struggling with maths questions. Vineet came in and saw her trying to get the solution.

"Main help karun?" he asked.

She agreed.. He taught her while explaining, she fell asleep. He glanced at her and smiled.. He picked her up and made her lay on bed, covering her with the blanket and kissing her forehead.

The next morning, Manvi woke up. She realised how she slept studying, she turned to her right but Vineet was not there. She got up and saw a note on the mirror.

She read it.. "Don't worry tum acha hi karogi.. Nahi hoga toh agli baar hum aur mehnat karenge.."

She smiled reading it, she quickly got ready and left for school.

She entered the exam hall and sat according to her roll number. She looked at her question paper and was left blank. She looked here and there and began writing. After 3 hours, she came out.

Tara asked "kaisa tha paper?"

"Bahut hi bura.." she said..

"Koi nahi pre-boards hi hai na.." Tara replied..

Manvi just smiled...

"Acha exams khatam ho gaye.. Revision class mei milti hun bye.." Tara said and left from there.

Manvi also commenced towards the exit. She felt a bit dizzy, she held the gate and closed her eyes for a moment. Arjun came there and held her hand..

"Are you fine Manvi?" he asked.

Manvi nodded.. "Ji.."

"Chalo tumhe ghar drop kar deta hun" he offered..

She denied but he insisted on her. She went with him to home.

She thanked him for the lift, he left her at the house. She turned and saw Vineet standing there. He glanced at her angrily.. "Kisne kaha tha tumhe uske saath aane ke liye?" he questioned her.

She replied "ji.. Wo toh bas drop karne aaye they.."

"Dekho.. Manvi tum ache se janti ho wo mujhe pasand nahi hai.." he said.

She smiled at his insecurity "main ache se janti hun.. Aur waise bhi school khatam hi hone waala hai uske baad wo mujhse milne waala nahi hai toh aap insecure hone ki zaroorat nahi hai" she replied and went inside..

He was left with an open mouth hearing her words.. He followed her in "main insecure nahi hun"

She turned towards him and said.. "Aapko pata hai jab maine rampwalk kiya tha uss ladke ke saath toh aapne usko maara tha as usne mera haath pakda tha.. Aur aap kehte hai aap insecure nahi hai.."

Vineet gave her a look.. "Aisa kuch bhi nahi hai samjhi na.." he said denying her allegations.

She nodded affirmatively trying to hide her laughter.

But he noticed it.. "Stop laughing.."

She laughed out loud as she could hold her laughter anymore.. He gave her a deadly look, she ran into the room locking it from inside..

"Open the door Manvi.." he shouted..

She denied.. "Nahi.."

He sighed deeply, she was being childish. "School jaake sach mein bachchi ban gayi ho tum.." he said..

As days passed, the results for pre-board exams were out. Vineet was called by the principal.

"Vineet.. Tumhare kehne par maine isko admission diya tha but just see the results.. I am sorry but iss saal main isko boards mein baithne nahi de sakta hun.." the principal informed clearly..

"Just because she failed in Maths and English you can't be so cruel yaar.. Mehnat karke paas ho jayegi boards mein" Vineet said convincing him..

"Dekho Vineet.. Tumhare efforts I can understand but tumhari biwi itne effort nahi kar rahi hai.." he said.

"Har koi ek din mein engineer nahi banta hai waise hi waqt lagta hai sab samajhne mein.. Bas ek last chance.." he requested.

Manvi was in guilt, the person who never requested someone in his whole life was now requested to the principal just because of her.

"Thik hai tum kehte ho to.. But agar ye boards clear nahi kar paayi toh main iss school mein toh admission de nahi paunga.." he said.

Vineet smiled.. "Aisa nahi hoga.."

He held Manvi's hand and took her from there..

"Chill Manvi.. Ek mahina hai tumhare paas.. Ache padhne ke liye" he said.

"Sorry Vineet.. Main phirse nahi kar paayi.." she apologized..

"It is fine Manvi.. Janti ho maine jab business shuru kiya tha toh bahut baar mera nuksan hua.. But dheere dheere sab samajh aane laga.. Aur dekho aaj kaha hun main.. Jabtak hum girte nahi hai sambhalte bhi nahi hai.." he said encouraging words to her.

She smiled hearing him..

"But promise me iss baar tum koi kami nahi chodogi.. Ghar ka naam Maria karegi you will just study okay??" he asked.

She nodded.. "I promise.. Iss baar aap sharminda nahi honge.."

They reached home... Manvi went to the room, followed by Vineet.

During the night, Manvi woke up and started feeling weird. She rushed to the bathroom and started vomiting.

Vineet woke up hearing her, he quickly jumped off the bed and rushed towards the bathroom.

 Vineet panicked seeing that he asked "Manvi are you fine?"

Manvi cleaned her face, she came out and said "ji main thik hun"

"but lag nhi rahi ho chalo doctor ke chalte hai" he said holding her hand.

She denied.. "nahi itni raat ko zaroori nhi hai"

"exams aane waale hai tumhare tabiyat kharab hogi to kaise chalega??" he said at her carelessness.

"thik hai main kal school ke baad chali jaungi doctor ke paas" she assured him.

"main chalunga na saath" he said.

"nahi aap apna kaam kijiye main chali jaungi" she said.

He agreed and they went to sleep. Manvi opened her eyes and thought something. She just hopped whatever she is thinking is not right.

The next day, she attended the school then went to the hospital. She went to the doctor's cabin for the check up. The doctor did some tests and she waited for the result.

After an hour the doctor called her in. The doctor said something, to which she was left shocked..
