Hello and welcome to AmbassadorMY! I'm proud to see that Malaysia now has their own ambassador profile where everyone who loves reading or writing in Malay--or who simply wishes to connect with other people from Malaysia--can come together. ❤️ 

My name is Shimaira and I currently lead the Content Ambassadors. Content Ambassadors are passionate about all things content and we dive deep into the stories on wattpad. We help check if stories are listed in the correct language to help ensure the right audience is able to discover it. We also check if stories are following the Code of Conduct and the Content Guidelines and we flag them up to wattpad if they are not. This is done to ensure a safe and fun community we can all enjoy. I'm going to share some important facts about being a user on Wattpad. Do take note!

The Dos and the Don'ts  of being a Wattpadders

Do: tag your story properly. This will help people to find it better. You can look up stories like yours to see what others are using as tags. It also helps to check what popular stories use as tags and learn from that.

Do: check your story's language. If you read and/or write in more than one language, make sure your story is in the correct one. This too to help ensure the right audience will find it.

Do: make sure you mark your story as mature if it contains mature content. Just giving a content warning is not enough nor is making any mature content containing chapters private. Mature stories need to be rated mature to ensure the right audience finds it. (It doesn't matter that there are minors who will still read mature rated works as that's their responsibility. It's yours to ensure your story is at least properly rated so people know what to expect. Adding a content warning with extra detail of what is in your story is a nice bonus that many readers will appreciate.

Do: be nice. As a reader or as a writer, always try to be nice and polite to others. Give positive feedback and constructive criticism.

Do: report anything that violates the wattpad guidelines. Be it banned content or bad conduct. We are all responsible for ensuring the community remains nice and safe, so please feel responsible and report anything wrong. (Be sure to read the content guidelines and code of conduct to know what is and isn't allowed )

Don't: bash users or stories. If you read something you don't like you don't need to tell the author. Just close the story and find something else to read that is more to your tastes. If you want to give feedback, ensure it's constructive and that the author can use it to improve their work. Also, keep in mind that it's good for morale to say something constructive along with something that the author did do right/something in the story that you enjoyed.

Don't: police others or start a fight. It's okay to tell someone nicely that something is not allowed on Wattpad, but if people react angrily or upset please don't get into an argument with them. Instead, report anything that violates the Wattpad rules.

Don't: feed the trolls. If a user is trolling you, being rude, or otherwise not nice, please mute them. If muting them does not stop the harassment or does not solve the problem, please report them to Wattpad.

Don't: post any banned content. Your story will be removed and your account might even be brought to the attention of Wattpad's Trust and Safety.

Don't: forget to enjoy yourself and have fun on Wattpad.
