So i found a lot of my old covers today which took me WAYYY back .

I started designing in 2016, so I've been designing for 4 years I guess. It hasn't been consistent though-I think i quit graphic making up to like three times lmao.

So here is a compilation of some of my graphics over the years-be prepared to cringe lol.

THE POWERPOINT ERA

SO NONE OF Y'ALL HOES BOTHERED TO MENTION THAT ONE DOES NOT JUST USE FUCKING POWERPOINT TO MAKE BOOK COVERS 😭😭😭

It's not even funny i practically spent months using powerpoint. At first the covers were fucking trash (like ew i wanna barf) but after I while I learnt to use PowerPoint effectively (fucking hell) and well, I can't believe I'm saying this but people actually liked my covers.

I know. People were fucking insane in 2016.

Most of my powerpoint edits were anime based (and trash) and idk what I was doing i was just putting good pics in front of bad backgrounds lmao.

NOOB PICSART DAYS

SO A KIND SOUL FINALLY TOLD ME THAT ONE JUST NOT JUST USE FUCKING POWERPOINT TO MAKE COVERS AND INTRODUCED ME TO THE WORLD OF PICSART.

And i thought i was gonna finally become one of the "good" picsart designers (truth is we all sucked together back then)

But nope. Change of designing app does not guarantee an up in skill level and i know that for a big facT.

Also can you believe i actually used picsart fonts?

Wasn't long till i discovered phonto. Oh thank the heavens for phonto.

THE TRIO

Ok now this is were there's some grey area in my memory bc I don't remember where this era stopped. But anyways it's called "The trio" bc this was when I used not only picsart, but pixellab and pixlr.

The covers are trash but I still love them. I don't know I just loved every single one of my graphics back then bc they looked so cool to me.

The only problem is i fucking overused stroke :(

I think i took a break before this? I can't remember but all I remember was my covers were trash yet I believed they looked good for some odd reason

Le PSD du Phone

So this was when i wanted so baddddly to be a photoshop designer bc of psds so i found this tutorial that talked about pads and yeah this is where my era of monochromity began to form lol.

Yes i started adding random pngs to covers like it somehow made my covers look good lmaoo.

Before Photoshop

Anyone who knew me during this time frame knew that I wanted photoshop more than I wanted free food.

Like, the covers were fine and all BUT I WANTED PHOTOSHOP.

SO I FINALLY GOT PHOTOSHOP AND I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO BE THE GODDESS OF EDITING

So so mistaken.

I was actually better on mobile.

PHOTO FLOP 2

I got a little bit better but i was still bad. I remember during this period there was a lot of wattpad and real life drama going on so I put graphics on the backburner in a way. I made edits from time to time but they just weren't as frequent or as good.

MONOCHROME MADNESS

Yes this was the era where I thought one colour was the way to go. This era is the reason I hate monochrome covers now. This era inspired horrible colour scheming from me.

Also there was drama. Less graphics. More fighting. That purple book in the middle caused a lot of fallouts between me and people on wattpad lmao.

CHILL

So at this point i kinda hate myself, a lot of people left wattpad, and I'm basically trying to lay low so I won't attract attention and this inspired my "don't try hard" graphics.

I went back to mobile (shocker) bc my desktop crashed.

It was the end of lolaDawn and the beginning of desolatethinker. The graphics were basic, lame, and lowkey crap.

So it was at this point i took a break from editing upon realising that I lost the motivation for it.

But it's ok! Because this led to the era of progressive growth for me, and too bad bc most of the graphics I made from that era are gone lol.

But like i did here, I shall search the internet for traces of them :D
