Chapter 2

Packing was very little, as I doubted I needed much. Just some clean clothes, undergarments, pjs, and my bathroom needs. Nothing to small or too big. I double checked that I had everything to make sure, then headed out, locking the door. Putting a smile on my face, I turned around and headed to the station. Once there, I saw Natsu, Happy, and Lisanna sitting together at a bunch, and Erza holding out our tickets. I walked up and grabbed mine, saying "Thank you," then walked to an open bench.

I must have spaced out, since then next thing I knew, the train had arrived and the rest of the team was here. I quickly hopped up and boarded with them. The train ride was pretty mellow. We took up 2 sets of booths on either side of each other because of how big our team had gotten. There was 8 in it, counting the exceeds. Me and Wendy took the one on the right side with the exceeds. As she slept, I looked out the window. The scenary kept changing and changing, and soon it turned to night. The town must of been very fair.

I wasn't tired, so I got up and went to the dinning car, where it had a table I could right on. I grabbed my purse as I did which held paper and pencils. Normally, I wouldn't right to my mother unless I was at him but I had a feeling we wouldn't be home for a while. It was dark, and almost everyone was alseep in the car, so I made sure to be quiet as I left. Once there, I say by the window again, pulling out the things needed, and started writting.

Hey Mom,
I know I don't normally write to you in a mission but I felt the need too. I wish you where here with me more then ever, and I in your arms. Ever since the Grand Magic Games -no, way after that, I've felt nothing but a burden, weak, and useless. My self esteem has really gone down. It's like a heavy rock tied to my shoulders, and I can do is sit and cry.  No, that aren't causing it all. It entirely me, at least I think it is. I don't know what has come of me.
I want to talk to them but it's so hard. I'm plagued night and night by horrid nightmares of them really thinking it and kicking me out, even if I know it won't happen. Loke and the other sprites try to help, but I keep pushing them away. It's as is I don't want help, when inside I'm screaming for it. Maybe if you where here it would be different, but you aren't, and all I can do it write.
I don't know what to do mom, I'm scared.

Sincerely,
Lucy Heartfillia

I scanned the letter, then placed it in and my purse neatly, since I didn't have an envelope. I looked back outside and smiled at the stars, they were bright in this town. Brighter then where the FairyTail guild is, that's for sure. I started naming off constellations to myself, thought I haven't done it in a long time. It relaxed me and I after awhile of doing it, I stood and headed back to the others.

Upon returning, I found they were still asleep, and Wendy had taken up the rest of the booth. I didn't want to wake her so I took the booth behind us. Surprisingly, it had been empty. Placing my things down, I turned around to get some a sweater to make a make-shift, when I ran into someone. I feel with a soft thud, and groaned. A hand was then held out in front of mine, and I took it.

"Thank you. I'm so sorry for bumping into you!" I spoke cheerfully. The man wore a black cloak that covered his face and body. It reminded of the guy I saw earlier.

"What did I tell about that fake tone?" He asked, and the voice struck me. It was that guy, who claimed to be Zeref. I opened my mouth to speak, but he pushed me into my booth and took off his cloak. It was Zeref. With the hair, clothes and eyes, it was him. I only stared, then started to shake a bit. The most dangerous mage of all Fiore - or the world - was sitting right in front of me. I don't know if I cry for help, fight him or just listen. "Just listen." He spoke, and I nodded.

"I know what your going through, or rather what's causing it." He sat in front of me, and I stared. How could he know what was causing this? "What it is, is a key. A very powerful one at that. It hasn't been used is hundreds of years, but now it has. It's calling for you, that's why your hear the voices and feel the way you do."

"That doesn't explain it at all!" I whisper yelled to him, standing up. He only sighed heavily, and motioned for me to sit back down. Huffing, I did as told.

"How the key works is it makes the Mage feel how it feels. It hasn't been used in such a long time, so it feels weak and useless. As you do now. Once you get it, you must train with it. Though it only has one power, that power can lead to many great possibilities. If you let me, once you find the key, I will help you." I stared at him.

"I will need to think about this." I spoke and he nodded. Grabbing his cloak, he stood up.

"Sleep. It will help you feel better." After that he walked off. He must of had something on to conceal his power, but finally took it off because almost everyone of the team jumped up and looked around, the exceeds still slept. I only sighed, then layed my head down and closed me eyes. I know only noticed how tired I was, so I better sleep. I dozed off as Erza saw me and tried to talk but I just couldn't. My eyes shut and I feel asleep. She would get me in the morning for it.
