Welcome to my life.

I'll let you in on a secret. I've never told anyone. I can talk to Pokémon. Perhaps I have Psychic powers. I've never told anyone, because they'd think I was a Pokémon or else I'm mad. And trust me, I don't need more of that, I get teased enough the school.

I'm a Pokémon nurse. I just graduated from the Pokémon Nurse school.

It's a magnificent building, three towers stretched high into the roof of the sky. They train people to become Pokémon nurses.

The problem is... I remember clearly, the teacher said at the start of my journey she'd let me learn here at the school, but she wouldn't give me a Pokémon Center to work in. Why is it necessary for only Joys to become nurses? That's a minute part of the reason why I wanted to be a Pokémon nurse, I wanted to prove that I could. But I majorly did this because I really love Pokémon.

I can't brood over that right now. I'm in my graduation ceremony, where we get our nurse uniforms, medical kits, andour first Pokémon.

They give us these Pokémon which assist us, like Audino and Chansey. There's a huge basket of pokeballs, and we have to choose a random one.

Ok, I'll admit it, I'm super scared to do this. My hands shaking, I put my hand in the basket, and it went deeper and deeper into the basket full of the pokeballs, which had been decorated pale pink and white, and I closed my hand, around a single tiny ball, which I withdrew from the box.

I was practically bursting with curiousity (and anxiety). What was it? I threw the pokeball and out came... a pretty Comfey!

A sweet smell filled the air. The yellow Pokémon smelled vaguely like the roses back at my home in alola and the Comfey was wearing a ring of beautiful flowers, and it smiled at me.

"Hey." I whispered.

"Hi.." She said shyly.

A man came and gave her a small Pokémon nurse hat. Comfey danced around and gave me the necklace of flowers. I laughed.

Finally after this, we got some food, and off we went from the school. Comfey by my side, I went to the nearby Pokémon centre to request for a job. It wasn't very far, and I walked into the Center, straight to nurse Joy.

"Hey, I was wondering if I could get a job here?" I asked, showing her my ID as a graduate from Pokémon nurse school.

"Sorry, I've already promised another nurse a job here." Came the reply. The nurse Joy was a little impatient, and she waved her hand to tell me it was a no.

I went to another Pokémon Center, and she told me the same.

I went from Center to Center, by they all rejected me. I was prepared for this, but... not so much, I guess.

"Sorry, we haven't got any job openings."

"Sorry, Another nurse'll be coming here."

"Sorry, you can't join here."

Finally I gave up. Throwing my nurse uniform on the ground, I glared at Nothing in particular.

"Ugh, What is It? I mean, Why can't they take me?" I shouted, and Comfey looked alarmed. She flew to me and gave me her necklace of flowers, but I wasn't going to be cheered up.

"I don't need flowers! I just need..." I broke off. "I don't know, Comfey, let's go, we'll eventually find somewhere!" I said, and comfey followed me as I ran and ran. That was when I heard it. A cry. I couldn't really hear what it was saying, but I followed the voice nonetheless.

Finally I saw it. Lying on the ground, it was a mimikyu. Chills went down my spine at the sight of it.

I hesitated. I could not forget the day I'd met mimikyu for the first time. I was in alola, back with my friend Jenny. Then a boy had told us about this really old house, which people said was haunted. My friends really wanted to go, and I joined them. I got separated, and I was small, I was scared. It was dark, and I heard something behind me. I looked into the cracked mirror into the room, and I got a peek of how mimikyu really looked like. It was the most scariest day of my life.

But couldn't just leave it here, I loved Pokémon, I wasn't scared, was I? I probably was. I looked backwards toward the path I'd just come from, but I didn't go back.

I took a deep breath, and stepped toward it.

"Hey, Hey, mimikyu, what's up? It'll be fine, I'm here to help you." I Said soothingly.

"I don't feel well..." it said. It had a soft, creepy voice, but I somehow wasn't scared. I stepped closer to it, and slowly touched its head.

I gasped. The mimikyu had a really bad fever.

I quickly opened my bag.

"Comfey, come on! Use Floral healing..." I said, as I rummaged in my bag, trying to find the suitable medicine.

Comfey used the attack, and flowers bloomed around mimikyu. I finally found the medicine I wanted, a small pale blue pill.

"You've got to eat this, Mimikyu.." I said, and a small black claw like structure came out of mimikyu's body, and took the pill from my hand. It flew back in, under the cloak, under which its true for was concealed.

I touched mimikyu's forehead, and the fever was lessening slowly. But I knew that I needed to take her to a pokemon center, where all the necessary equipment was available. So I gently picked it up, and ran straight to the nearest center.

Mimikyu's fever was slowly rising again, and I really needed to get her to a center quickly. I asked Comfey to use her healing attack again, but mimikyu's fever would not go down. I kept running, I could not fail, otherwise, well, I'd rather not think about it.

"It'll be ok.." I whispered to it. But I was really worried.

She didnt say anything. I finally reached the center and stormed in, straight past Nurse Joy. I ran into the operation room and closed the door. I had not no time to explain the situation to Joy.

I put mimikyu on a bed, and picked up a few bottles of medicines from the shelves. I mixed up a remedy quickly, and put the medicine in an injection.

"Ok, now I know this might hurt, but... you'll be okay." I said, and injected the blue liquid. Mimikyu winced, but it did not do anything. For a moment it stood quite still, and then it relaxed.

I heaved a sigh of relief. I checked its temperature, and it was okay, a little above normal, but it'd be ok!

It was off to sleep, and I unlocked the door, and explained the situation to a bewildered nurse joy.

"Well you could have told me! It's not safe, really, mixing up remedies on your own!" she said indignantly.

"Oh well, I just graduated from nurse school, so I figure I could do this." I said, glaring at her.

"Oh! Well, I'll just go now, lots of patients, Pokémon battles you know.." she said, disapprovingly.

"Okey Dokey." I Said.

"So, do you work somewhere?" She asked, as I followed her out of the room.

"Er-no. Me and comfey we're searching for a job, but we couldn't find one." I Said.

"Well, you're in luck!" She said brightly.

"I-I am?" I asked, bewildered.

"Welcome to the Viridian Pokémon center. Get ready!" She said, winking at me.

I was seriously shocked. I felt like a pikachu's thundershock had hit me.

"Oh my Arceus, I got a job!" I screamed, pumping my fist in the air. Comfey smiled and laughed, and gave off a very sweet scent.

I wore my nurse dress, my cap and gave comfey hers. Putting my medical kit on the table, I stood beside nurse Joy, ready for my first patient. In no time at all, a boy clutching a pidgey stormed into the Pokémon Center. He laid the pidgey down softly, and I gasped.

It was badly wounded. Nurse joy's Chansey brought a small rolling bed, and I put pidgey on it, and nurse Joy nodded to me. Chansey ran into the operation room, pulling the stretcher. I picked up the pidgey and gently placed it on a bed, and examined it.

"Comfey, help it with healing attacks!" I Said, and ran to the shelves, and picked up some medicines. A bottle of thick yellow paste, which would help with healing the wounds, another to lessen the pain, and one final medicine to prevent an infection. I took some cotton and slowly cleaned the pidgey's wounds. Then I applied the medicine on its wounds, and they healed up quite quickly. Chansey cheered, and I was relieved. I bandaged the pidgey, and slowly laid it down on a bed.

"Phew. Okay, Pidgey?" I asked.

"Yeah." It mumbled.

"Go to sleep. Chansey, sing." I Said. Chansey sang a slow, beautiful tune, and I felt drowsy, too. But I went out of the room just in time.

The boy was waiting anxiously at the gate. Nurse joy was trying to calm him down, and I went to him.

"What? Is Penny ok?" He asked.

"Yes, she'll be fine." I Said, and he heaved a sigh of relief.

"Could I see her?" He asked.

"Yeah, sure." I Said, and leaded him to the pidgey.

"Hey Penny, are you Ok?" He asked brightly.

"Yeah." She said. The boy couldn't understand what pidgey said, but I told him.

"She's fine." I Said. "Just let her have some rest." I Said.

"Ok, Nurse Er-Joy?" He asked.

"I'm Nurse Sam." I said. Nurse Sam. This name was kind of weird.

"Oh!" He said. He sat down next to pidgey, and whispered something to her. I couldn't hear it, and I went out.

"Good work, nurse Sam!" Nurse Joy said.

I laughed. I looked outside. Comfey was making another ring of flowers from the plants growing outside. Another patient came in with a Pikachu, but I was standing outside, and nurse Joy took care of it.

Night fell. Before going to bed, I went to visit mimikyu.

"Hey, Miki." I Said.

"Hi." It said.

"Well, Are you Okay now? And how come we're you in Kanto? Mimikyu are found in alola, aren't they?" I asked.

"I'm fine. I came here with a trainer." It said softly.

"Oh." I Said.

"She left me." Mimikyu Said.

"Well, you could now be free!" I Said, in a vain attempt to cheer her up.

"I don't want to be. I don't want to be alone. If only I had a... friend." She said.

I didn't know what to say.

"Miki, don't worry. I'm your friend." I said lightly.

"I thought you were scared of me." She said.

"I was. I'm not anymore." I Said.

"Really?" She Asked.

"Yes." I Said firmly.

"Thanks." It said.

"Oh. Well, goodnight, Miki." I Said, and walked out of the room and closed the door softly.

Nurse Joy was standing outside, looking puzzled.

"How did you understand what mimikyu's saying?" She asked.

"I-Er What are you talking about?" I asked. I did not want to tell nurse Joy I could talk to Pokémon, specially on my first day here.

Nurse Joy raised an eyebrow, but she didn't enquirer further. I saw comfey had fell asleep among the flowers in the garden, and I gently picked her up and took her to my room. First I set up my alarm clock. I placed Comfey on the bed lightly and went to mine. I laid down on the bed, and fell asleep almost immediately.

"Ring ring! Ring ring!" The alarm clock blared.

"I'm up, I'm up!" I cried, trying to punch the off button. The alarm clock fell down and to my immense disappointment, did not break. "Ring! Ring!" It continued to scream.

Alright I know alarm clocks can't scream, but it sure looked like it. I threw my pillow on top of it but it still wouldn't stop.

I opened my eyes. Sunlight was creeping into the room through the window. I hadn't really checked out my room last night, but it was really pretty. A soft pink and white colour, with two beds. Posters of Pokémon covered most of the wall, and on my right side a large one said battle safety instructions. On my side there was a tiny beside table with a red lamp on it, and above it, there was a window. There was also a closet, and a mirror. I yawned loudly and jumped out of the bed. The floor was soft and carpeted.

The alarm clock was on the ground. I sighed, and picked up my nurse uniform, and wore it.

I went to the mirror, and brushed my long brown hair into an untidy ponytail.

I smiled, and went to wake up Comfey.

"Wake up, Sleepyhead! Time to work!" I said cheerfully.

"Ok, coming!" She said in her sweet voice.

Comfey flew up and wore her hat, and smiled at me.

"C'mon! Time to work!" She said, in a good imitation of me.

"Yeah." I said and opened the door. I was about to walk out when somebody knocked into me and I fell backward on top of Comfey.

"What is it?" I Said, getting up. Nurse Joy was standing there, looking very worried, and as I helped comfey up, she explained.

"There's a trainer here whose Charmander's really ill, it took a stun spore. And I'm all out of medicine for stun spore! Please, Sam, you have to go get some." She said.

"It's way too early for any shop to be open! And we can't wait for them to! What should we do? I...don't know." I admitted.

"I don't know either." Nurse Joy said.

There was a pause. And then I shrieked, as the answer hit me.

"Salveyo weed!" I cried.

"What?" Nurse Joy asked.

"It's a cure for stun spore! Is there a lake around here?" I asked.

"Yes! Just nearby this Center!" She said, and I was really relieved.

"We can do this! You have to take care of the Charmander while I'll get the weed." I Said. Nurse Joy nodded and was about to run off when she stopped me.

"Take my Ponyta. You'll get there faster. And I think Miki wants to go with you." She said, pressing a pokeball into my hands. So I threw the pokeball, and comfey and Miki climbed on with me.

"I'll be back...with the weed..." I Said, and Nurse Joy smiled. "Hopefully...." I muttered.

I patted ponyta, and she ran like the wind, and I could barely hold on. She ran and ran, and we reached the tiny lake in almost no time.

I jumped off ponyta, feeling a bit dizzy. The lake was small but pretty. I looked around for a poliwag, but there wasn't one anywhere.

So I waded into the lake, with comfey and Miki, and the sand was soft at the bottom and I sank a little deep into it. The cloudy sky was reflected into the cold water, and it looked like a lake full of ice. My nurse uniform got drenched but I didn't care. A magikarp jumped out of the water, and hit me in the face. I fell backward into the freezing water. I got up again, went deeper. I groped the lake bottom, trying to find some Salveyo weed.

I finally got something, and I pulled hard. It wouldn't come out. I pulled harder and harder, and out it came... another magikarp. I fell back down again from the force of pulling it up.

I sighed, and got up again.

"Magikarp?" I asked.

"Yes?" It said. The magikarp was floating a few inches below the surface of the water.

"Do you know where I could find Salveyo weed? Or poliwag?" I asked.

The magikarp jumped.

"Yes! I can call a poliwag!" Magikarp Said. He dived down, and went deeper and deeper.

I waited. Magikarp didn't come back. I blended down, trying to find the weed myself, when something hit me ont he face. I fell back into the water for a third time.

I got up again. Magikarp was smiling at me. He had jumped up and hit me. I glared at him, but he didn't notice.

A poliwag jumped up after him, and she smiled at me.

"Poliwag!" I cried. "Thanks!"

He smiled.

"Poliwag, we really need Salveyo weed for healing a Pokémon. Please, help us!" I Said. Poliwag nodded, and she dived down and rose back up, holding a bunch of small, green weeds. I cheered, and thanking the poliwag, returned to the Center on ponyta.

"Nurse Joy, Nurse Joy!" I cried, as I jumped off ponyta, holding the weed.

Soon we made the medicine and charmander was healed.

The day was pretty hectic, with trainers pouring in and getting their Pokémon healed. I was running here and there, and I was a bit glad when it was over for the day. Yawning, I went back in with Comfey, and we dropped down on our beds, and drifted off to sleep.

"Ring Ring, Ring Ring!" The alarm clock blared a second time.

"Go away!" I shouted at it. But I wouldn't stop. Finally, I got up and pressed the off button. I changed into my nurse uniform and I was just about to comb my hair when Nurse Joy ran in.

"What?" I asked.

"...poisoned Pokémon...need....Pecha....Pecha Berry...." she said, panting.

"I'll get it!" I Said, and took ponyta, Miki and comfey.

I jumped on to of ponyta, and pulled Miki and comfey up. And we ran out of the Center, off towards our next adventure!
