The Journey Home
"You'll have a month to relax while we sort things out here, and after that you have to return here to officially take your place as champion." Said Iris as we make our way out of the champion's building and into champion's approach. "Use it wisely, will you Nate? You've gone through a lot, you deserve to have some rest." I only nodded too lost in my thoughts as fireworks shine bright above. A sign to show that unova have a new champion.
My journey to this point have been nothing short of a wild ride, full of intrigue, mystery, bravery, rage and revelation. One that almost took my life, everything just flashes so fast it honestly feels surreal. Just a couple months ago I was sitting at home absolutely bored out of my mind and now I'm here, fulfilling a childhood dream of becoming the champion of my region.....
I decided to leave the league building as soon as Iris and the elite 4 are done congratulating me, all I want to do right now is to come home and tell my mother about everything that has happened, I want to use this one month to relish the memories of this journey with all of my friends and families before taking my place as champion. Now, I could just use my Braviary and fly all the way down to Aspertia but what's the fun in that? A real trainer would take the long way around and see the cities and towns they've visited before to see how they have change since their last visit, it'll take a couple of days but it'll definitely be worth it.

"Humilau city: A city of Calm and Sparkling Seas" Humilau is a city that was establish very recently as a way to bring in more tourist to Unova. I'm not exactly a fan of the hot and touristy vibe Humilau emits. But even so I have to admit that the views of the ocean wave and sandy beaches is breath-taking to see.
"Sup dude!" a shout from behind snapped me out of my thoughts. I turned around to see Marlon, the city's gym leader walking up to me. "You're Nate aren't you? Why are you here? Did you fail the league challenge?" This made me chuckle and rolled my eyes.
Although Marlon was born in Unova he has spent most of his life in Alola, he only comes back recently when the league asks him to be the leader of the newly build Humilau city gym. And it seems like he brought over some of the Alolan way of living with him, as his assistant told me: 'He's barely over twenty, has no understanding of time, pays almost no attention to what's happening around him and loves doing water based activities no matter the condition.' I suppose you could say that he's the embodiment of the city in human form....
I told him a brief summary of everything that has happened since our gym battle and he offer me a place to stay for the day, like Marlon himself Humilau does seem like a nice place to stay. But I decided to decline the offer saying that I want to get home as soon as possible, maybe someday I'll try to sped some time in this beautiful city but for now I have to move on.

"Opelucid city: A convenient city of rapid change, showing no traces of the past" If there's one word I could use to describe Opelucid it would be futuristic. Walking through the city make me feel like I'm living in one of those cities from sci-fi movies, bright neon lights litter the streets and buildings showing that the city is really living up to its description. It is an amazing city to visit. Well, that is until team plasma decide to freeze it over.....
"So how long do you think it'll take to clean the city from all of the ice?" I tentatively asked Drayden as we watch the workers around us removing shards of ice from people's houses piece by piece.
"Shouldn't take too long now that Kyurem's influence has dissipated, plus its almost summer time so the ice that couldn't be remove manually should just melt away into the sewage system." He sighs, from the tired look of his eyes it's evident that he hasn't had much sleep since plasma's attack.
"I'm sorry Drayden, I wish I could've done something to prevent this..." I found myself looking down out of guilt, Drayden doesn't deserve this, the people of Opelucid doesn't deserve this. "If only I have found out plasma's plan sooner perhaps I cou- "
"No, no, no, no don't blame this on yourself Nate, it's not your fault. Plasma had probably been planning this attack for a long time, there's no way anyone could've known it was coming until it's too late." Drayden's sudden interruption almost made my hearth skip a beat. "If anything you've become our hero, if you didn't quickly act on what happened here who knows how many more cities they would've freeze over."
"Thanks...." 'Hero.' Now that's a tittle I never thought anyone would associate with me.... I shoot Drayden a smile before looking back towards the city.
I ended up staying there for the night, I would've prefer to not hassle Drayden with the job of hosting someone but he insist. Oh well, better rest up while I can since I still have a long way to go.

"Mistralton city: A city Strewn with Windblown Leaves" Mistralton is a small city whose image has been dominated by its airport. As the main cargo hub for Unova the airport is always busy with activity, I've always like seeing the busyness of a place like this, it's so methodical and organized it's just amazing to see.
"Hee-hee! So you come?" Skyla comes out of nowhere to 'greet' me as I was walking towards the Pokémon centre. "I've been expecting to see you again here since that firework show at the league a couple nights ago Champion Nate." She says with a smirk on her face.
"Uh, well..." I was flustered, all my life I dream of being called 'champion' one day but now that I actually being called that I didn't have a clue of what to say or do. I could feel my face turning red as I scratch the back of my head, trying to form coherent words.
"It's okay," I could feel Skyla gently holding my shoulder as I look up to be greeted by her jolly smile. "I know how you feel right now. Don't worry you'll get used to it soon enough, your job will have huge responsibilities but I'm sure you could handle it well considering how well you handle the plasma situation." Still a little flustered, I could only nodded in respond.
We ended up having quite a long conversation after she invited me to her gym, we talk about all sort of things. It was nice to finally be in a nice casual conversation like that again, it's a reminder that in Unova sometimes people with obvious character traits from the outside like Skyla's seemingly loud and over jolly attitude can have a different character inside like relaxed and laid back in Skyla's case.

"Driftevil city: A city of billowing sails." Driftvel is a very unique place, on one hand you could still feel the old Jotho/Kanto vibes that the sailors of those region bring when they come and settled here many years ago in the city's bustling port. But in the rest of the city there's this air of incoming change and modernation, with many new buildings popping up as the result of the city's now booming mining industry. Which is being led by Driftveil's eccentric mayor and gym leader, Clay.
"Well, since ya fellas have proven yerself to be of no concern and has actually been helpin' the city the city in times of need. I officially give y'all permission to live here permantly." Says Clay happily as he was shaking hands with Rood. When he gives Rood and his gang of former team plasma member 'temporary' place to stay in the city's abandon warehouse many people cried out in protest, and could you blame them? For all they know team plasma are just bunch of evil people that knows no good and now all of the sudden some of them were going to live in their city?
Thankfully for Rood and his gang though, their kindness and willingness to amend their past mistakes shine through (The fact that the radical side of plasma decide to rose up and caused even more chaos certainly help too). As the two of them continue to talk among themselves I turn my attention to Hugh, who was standing beside me.
"So this is what you've been doing since our last battle, huh?" I tentatively ask, poking him gently on the shoulder.
"Well, I did say that I want to correct the mistakes my old arrogance self-make didn't I?" He replies, momentarily pausing to take a breath. "What happened on the plasma frigate really open up my eyes about my beliefs, and how it almost destroys me. I wronged so many people throughout our journey, and helping Rood returning the Pokémon that plasma has stolen will come a long way in fixing what I've done before...."
Hugh and I ended up spending the rest of the day and night in the safe house, mostly talking about our journey. And in doing so I realize another aspect of living in Unova; even if it seems like there's no way to change someone beliefs, if Arceus allow it that someone will somehow, someway atleast rethink their beliefs.

"Nimbasa city: A city Lit by the Flash of Lightning!" Nimbasa is to put it simply; an entertainment bonanza. Every kind of entertainment you could think of exist here, with bright lights that could give Opelucid a run for its money. Personally though I will forever remember Nimbasa as a city of emotion, because it was here where he tells me the full story of him and his sister's purloin. It was a touching, one that made me understand why he act like he was and made me wants to help him even more than before.
It seems like the news of me walking back home had spread among the gym leaders, since as soon as I arrive I was pulled into one of Elesa's show in the big stadium. Where I was given a vip seat and got mention several times by her during the show. Which was nice, it certainly makes up for the absolute annoyance that was battling her emolga a few months back.....
After that was over I didn't really spent much time in the city, I'm not a fan of the exuberant things the gym leader set up for me and I really just want to reach Aspertia already. Boy, if I only I knew what was in store for me in Castelia......
........................................................................................................................
"Castelia city: A city of grandeur" If Nimbasa is the entertainment capital of Unova, Castelia is the Economic capital of our region with most businesses having their headquarters in the city. And with tall skyscrapers as far as the eye could see and bustling streets fill with people you could really feel that aswell. I would've loved to experience the bustle of the city again but unfortunately, Burgh and the people of Castelia have other plans....
"CHAMPION NATE! CHAMPION NATE! CHAMPION NATE!"
The crowd chanted along as I was being paraded around the city with Burgh on a convertible car. If you thought I was flustered when only one person calls me champion, imagine how I'm feeling now that THOUSANDS of people are on the street chanting my name....
"Burgh, why do you have to this to me?" I whispered to Burgh while waving at the crowd, trying to look happy when I'm really not.
"Oh come on Nate! A champion and hero that arceus pick himself for a region like you deserve something like this!" He excitedly replies, a big smile can be seen on his face. "Just relax and enjoy the moment, ok? I mean, when will you get the opportunity to have something like this again?" I sigh and reluctantly did as he told.
The sudden celebration ended up lasting late into the night, which unfortunately force me to stay in the city for the night. Although I did end up enjoying the festivities I would really really prefer it if Burgh didn't make the event so grand, I would've like something simpler and less pronounce. Oh well, can't really do anything about it now do I?
........................................................................................................................
"Virbank city: A City of falling fog and rising stars!" Virbank is interesting, when other cities in Unova chooses to either maintain the past or embrace the present and future, Virbank is in a weird limbo between the options. On one hand there's the old industrial complex that keeps spewing dangerous smoke into the air, and then there's the city's younger resident who are challenging the status quo by way of graffiti and hard rock music led by their lead musician and gym leader Roxie.
Once again my march home is halted by gym leader's exuberant shenanigans to 'honour' me, nothing too big this time. Roxie's assistant simply invited me to a concert she had set up in her gym with her band. Quite a lot of people come, including Roxie's father which was surprising considering the two's relationship has been reportedly a little tense lately. Guess they've got it together in the time since I left for Castelia a few months ago, eh?
Even though I really wish I wouldn't be interrupted again, especially since I was so close to home now I'll give this one a pass. It wasn't too elaborate like what Burgh did in Castelia and I like a little rock music here and there so I'll tolerate this one as I make my final trek to my destination. And after a short break to have a chat with Alder, Bianca and my former teacher Cheren in Floccesy, I at long last arrive at that destination.....
........................................................................................................................
"Aspertia city: A city at the foot of high mountains where you can see all of Unova" Ah, Aspertia city..... Aspertia is a relatively small unnotable town for most of its short history with less than 300 inhabitants, it really is just your ordinary small town with nothing to do. That is, until the trainers' school was founded here 10 years ago. It gave the children of Aspertia a dream, a dream I've finally realized......
As I was walking in the quite evening streets of my hometown I can't help but opening the flood gates to my childhood memories. Everything was coming back to me from the moving here to the day I leave for my journey, I could remember it like it was yesterday. And then, as I turned the corner to my house I saw it. Outside my house was someone I love more than anyone else, someone I haven't seen in almost half a year...
"MOM!!! I'M BACK!!!" I could not hold it anymore, I scream and literally runs towards my beloved mother before hugging her as tight as I could.
"Nate?!" Was all my mom could say before I practically rushed her, how did she maintain her footings is beyond me. But as I began to uncontrollably cries into her shoulder I could feel her warm hands hugging me back.
"I-I've m-missed you so much mom! I-I'm s-sorry for leaving you a-alone for so-so long..." At this point I could barely form coherent sentences through my tears, All I've wanted to do since beating Iris was to come home and meet her again and now that it actually happens, I... don't know what to do...
"It's ok Nate," She responded to my increasingly loud sobs by lightly kissing me on my head. "You've achieve a lot in your journey. I mean, how many parents could say that their children become a hero and champion of Unova? You've made me more than proud my son...." She always knew how to handle a situation like this...
After what seems like an eternity I finally let her go and she suggested for us to get inside the house as it is getting dark, as we enter the house I turned around and look at the region I love one last time. This region is just so beautiful, so many memories, so many things to remember, I would never leave this incurable region like a certain someone, No. This region is too beautiful to leave behind....
"Unova. A region of diverse Landscapes, People and Pokémon. A region held by man's relation with their trusted Pokémon allies, it is the place I called home..."
