Write a one shot based on something you WISH existed in the Pokémon fandom. This could be a bit of plot from a video game you wish you could play, a scenario that you wish would happen in the anime, an evolution/mega evolution/alternate form you wish would be invented, or anything else that uses your imagination to add to or transform current canon.

It's a late evening in the Hoenn region. Many trainers and Pokémon are starting to head home for the night. One of those trainers is Serena, who has only been in Hoenn for a week. She walks into Slateport City in search of a Pokémon Center.

"Wow," Serena mutters as she stops and looks out towards the ocean.

"The sunset is beautiful, isn't it Braixen?"

Braixen nods in agreement as turn onto the main road. Numerous shops and restaurants appear, some of which are beginning to close.

"Oh Braixen! Look at that!"

Serena runs up to the window of a shop. On display is a flowy blue dress with white lace for the upper body in a flower design.

"Isn't it beautiful? That dress would be perfect for our first contest! What do you think?" Serena asks.

She turns to her starter, who doesn't respond.

"Braixen? What's wrong?"

She touches Braixen on the shoulder, who collapses on the ground, fast asleep.

"Braixen!"

Suddenly, a man wearing all black grabs Serena and Braixen.

"Let go of me!"

Serena looks at the man's face, which is covered by a ski mask.

"Be quiet you brat!"

"Help! Somebody, please!" Serena pleads as she tried to pull her arm away from her attacker's grip.

***A Few Moments Before***

May is sitting at an outdoor table at a restaurant in Slateport City. She sighs as her stomach grumbles for the third time this evening.

"I'm so hungry."

She then instantly smiles as she spots her server walking towards her with a plate of hot food.

"Oh boy! I can't wait to eat this!" May exclaims as she quickly ties a napkin around her neck like a bid. She begins to rub her hands together as her server places the plate the table.

"One entree size Spaghetti and Meatballs for you, miss."

"Great! Thank you so much!"

The serve heads back inside as May quickly grabs her utensils. She's about to devour her food, when she hears yelling coming from the street.

She turns and spots Serena struggling to get away from a man wearing all black, including a mask.

May looks at Serena, then her food.

"Somebody, help! Please!"

May groans as she throws money on the table as quick as she can. She grabs her plate and rushes towards Serena and her attacker.

"Hey!"

Both Serena and her attacker turn to May. May then flings the plate of pasta at Serena's attacker.

The man screams in agony and let's go of Serena, tossing her on the ground. May rushes to Serena's side while the man runs away, with Braixen in his arms.

"Are you ok?" May asks.

"I'm fine. But he has my Pokémon!"

"What? That's it! I'm going to make him pay for taking your Pokémon and ruining my dinner!" May growls as she holds a fist up.

"He's getting away!" Serena exclaims.

"Don't worry, we'll find him," May reassure Serena as she helps her up.

"How?"

May grins.

"Munchlax, come on out!"

The blue bipedal Pokémon took his shape and stares at May, scratching his stomach.

"Hey Munchlax, guess what!"

"Munch?"

"I have a present for ya'!" May says as she hands Munchlax the plate that had the pasta.

Munchlax takes it and sniffs the plate. He quickly licks the bowl clean.

"Good, wasn't it?"

Munchlax nods in agreement.

"Now, I need a big favor. A man is covered in pasta who tried to-"

Munchlax turns around and heads towards the restaurant May was at.

"Munchlax!" May cries as she chases after him.

Serena follows and knees in front of Munchlax.

"Munchlax. I need your help. The man May mentioned took my best friend, and I'm really worried about her. Please, help me get her back," Serena pleads as she stares at Munchlax.

"Munchlax!"

Munchlax then grabs the bowl once again and takes a big sniff. He drops it, and sprints in the direction the man ran off to.

"Come on!" May yells as her and Serena chase after May's Munchlax.

The two girls follow Munchlax into a nearby forest. By now the sun has completely set. As they get further away from Slateport City, the darker it becomes.

"I'm so sorry for getting you involved. I would've unleashed another one of my Pokémon, but I was afraid he was going to take one of them too," Serena says.

"Don't worry about it! I'm just glad I was able to step in when I could."

"Thank you so much for helping," Serena says as she steps over a log.

"Not a problem! What's your name?" May asks.

"My name is Serena!"

"Nice to meet you Serena! I'm May!"

The two girls shake hands.

"Is it your first time in Hoenn?" May asks.

"Yep. I've been here only a week!"

"Welcome to my home region!"

"Ha-ha, thanks."

"Trust me Serena, Hoenn really isn't that bad. We haven't had any issues with crime since Team Aqua and Magma were at each other's throats. We'll catch this man, I promise!"

May then begins to chuckle.

"Sorry. If someone would've told me a couple years back that I would sacrifice a plate of food to save a Pokémon, I would've laughed in their face," May explains as she searches in her backpack for a flashlight.

"Really? Why's that?" Serena asks.

"When I first turned ten, I didn't like Pokémon all that much. I became a trainer just so I could travel around the region. Luckily, I found some great traveling companions that made me realize what I was missing out on," May says as she clicks on the flashlight and continue on their search.

"That's great! I had some pretty great companions back when I traveled in Kalos!" Serena exclaims.

"Really? Who did you travel with?"

"I traveled with a gym leader named Clemont, and his sister Bonnie! I also traveled with a boy named Ash and his Pikachu!"

Luckily for Serena, it was too dark for May to notice her blushing face.

May immediately turns towards Serena, pointing the flashlight at her.

"Did you say Ash?"

Serena nods.

As May is about to say something, Munchlax pats May's leg. He then points at an opening between two trees.

"Let's go Serena. Looks like we found them."

May grabs Serena's hand, and turn off the flashlight. Together, they make their way to the opening.

They hide behind a bush. From there, they can see the man place Braixen in a cage on top of a truck.

"Hunter! Where are you?" The man yells.

A Hunter suddenly appears in front of him.

"Good job buddy. Here's your prize, as promised."

The man offers Hunter a handful of Pokéblocks. Hunter grabs them and happily eats away.

"Now that explains why your Braixen is asleep," May whisper.

"Now keep guard while I wash this stupid pasta off me. This stuff was stupid hot," the man mumbles as he walks towards the river not too far from his truck.

"What are we going to do?" Serena asks.

"I think I have an idea. But it's going to require a bit of teamwork," May says as she explains the plan to Serena.

...

"I can't believe she freaking through a plate of spaghetti at me," the man says as he takes off his ski mask. He cups some water into his hands and splashes it on his face. When he opens his eyes, a Wartortle is staring at him with his head just above the water.

Wartortle uses Water Gun, splashing the man in the eyes. He groans as he jumps up and reaches for his eyes.

Slyveon grabs his arms with her feelers and twirls him around. That confuses the man, allowing Venusaur to use Vine Whip to wrap the man up. Slyveon then grabs the keys on the man's belt loop and tosses it in the air. Panchum leaps into the air and catches the keys. He does cartwheels until he reaches the truck. He jumps on and unlocks the cage. Blaziken hops in and picks up Braixen and carries her out of the truck. He jumps and gently places Braixen next to the two girls.

"Wow, that was smooth," May says.

"Wait, where did the Hunter go?" Serena asks.

"Hunter! Use Will-O-Wisp on Venusaur!" The man yells.

Hunter suddenly appears, and hits Venusaur with the attack. This allows the man to get out of the vines and head for his truck.

"Oh no you don't! Panchum use Arm Thrust!"

"Help him out Blaziken!"

Both Fighting Type Pokémon jump in the air. Blaziken grabs Panchum and launches him straight towards the man. Panchum lands a direct hit on his chest, knocking the air out of him.

Hunter appears in front of Panchum and uses Lick.

"Quick! Use Fire Spin!"

Blaziken torches Hunter, weakening him quite a bit.

"Finish them off with Fairy Wind!"

Blaziken quickly grabs Panchum and jumps out the way as Slyveon launches the attack. She lands a direct hit and ends up launching Hunter and the man into the cage.

"Nice! Now we call Officer Jenny and she'll handle the rest!" May says as she begins to dial.

...

Officer Jenny picked the girls and the man up. She took the perk to the station, then dropped the girls at the nearby Pokemon Center.

"The way your Pokemon move is so graceful! Have you ever considered doing contests?" May asks as she opens a bag of chips.

"That's actually why I came to Hoenn," Serena explains as grabs a water bottle from a vending machine.

"Really? I can't wait to face off against you on stage then," May says as she does the same.

"Oh! You're a coordinator?"

"Yep. One of the best actually," May says with a smirk.

"However, as I mentioned before, it wouldn't have happened without my traveling companions. All thanks to Brock, my brother Max, and Ash."

"What! Y-you traveled with Ash?" Serena squeals out, nearly spitting out her water.

"Yep. I'm glad he still becoming friends with good people," May says with a smile.

Serena blushes.

"Thank again May. I don't know what I would've done if you weren't around," Serena says.

"You'll would've figured it out. Just have some confidence," May says with her mouth whole.

"You're right. I can't give up until it's over!"

May grins.

"If we end up facing off in a contest, I'm not going easy on you just because you're Ash's friend," May says.

"That's fine. I'm not gonna hold back either," Serena says, as they shake hands one last time.
