Friend//Jerome Valeska

You looked around at the rec room of Arkham Asylum, seeing many inmates like yourself wearing striped uniforms and socializing about with other inmates. You found a nice little corner and sat down in the corner, picking out a book to read.

You were bored and uninterested in this hellhole that you were placed in. You were only in here because you just so happened to kill your bitchy stepmother. She wanted you to be prim, proper, pristine, and perfect. She completely disregarded your opinions and interests, and so when you had enough, you grabbed a kitchen knife, and smiled as she fell to the floor with a thud, a pool of blood surrounding her lifeless body.

You were a little insane; everyone has got some type of parental issues. All of a sudden, you see a figure sit in front of you. You looked up from your book to see this ginger guy looking at you. "Hiya gorgeous. I'm Jerome." He said. You knew who he was—he killed his mother. "I know who you are. I'm Y/N, what's it to you?" You said with a bored look in your eyes. "Calm down sweet cheeks. I'm just wonderin' how a pretty girl like you ended up in a loony bin like this dump." He said. You smirked. "I killed my bitch of a stepmother. She just...kept...pushing. Wanted me to be this perfect princess," you gagged.

He gasped with a delightful smile. "Me, too. Well, my mom anyhow. Ooh, what a rush!" He said with glee. You marked your spot in your book and leaned over. "You wanna be my friend, ginger? A girl like me could use some muscle in a place like this," you said. He smirked. "It'd be my pleasure, doll face." He said winking in your direction. You smiled, kissing his cheek. He laughed maniacally, which was music to your ears. With Jerome at your side, this place wouldn't be too bad.

You'd been in Arkham for over two months now. Every day was the same, but Jerome added flavor to your boring daily routine. You two had a few other friends in the asylum:  Aaron Helzinger, Richard Sionis, Arnold Dobkins, Robert Greenwood, and Barbara Kean. You were Arkham's version of the 'it' group in a high school. No one dared to mess with any of you. You and Barbara clicked instantly, becoming like sisters in the short amount of time you'd known each other. Jerome had taken a liking to you, which was weird, considering he hadn't really had anyone to love in his entire life.

You and Barbara were treated like princesses. You finally got to be a princess in the eyes of a man—more like the eyes of a certain deranged ginger. You liked Jerome a lot, maybe even loved. "Hey doll face, whatcha thinkin' 'bout?" Said ginger asked you. You smiled and pretended to think. "I was thinking about the day we met. You were my first friend in this dump. It's still a dump but the best part of my day is seeing you," you said poking at his nose gently. He smiled widely, a glint of mischief in his eyes.

Just then, a random inmate accidentally tripped and fell on your feet. Jerome was angry. "Look bozo, don't even come near my girl again. Or I promise you, I'll kill you...very...very...slowly." He growled. The inmate nodded in fear and just left in a fright. Then Jerome used this opportunity to stand up in his seat. "Listen up losers!" He said, getting everyone's attention. He pulled you up, showing you off like a kid with a brand new toy. "This is Y/N. She's my girl. And if you even think about touching her, you're dead. Got it?" He spat, making everyone nod. He smirked in reply and sat back down with you, going back to the conversation with Barbara as if nothing had happened.

You sat there kinda fazed. When Barbara noticed, she nudged the ginger, who smirked as he pulled you close. "Doll, you good?" He asked. You nodded with a smile on your face. "Kiss me, handsome. If I'm your girl, then shouldn't we confirm our relationship with a smooch?" You said flirtatiously. "Sweetheart, ya read my mind," He cackled before pulling you in for a kiss. It was rough but passionate. Just the way you liked it. You had a lover. Together, you two would be unstoppable.

All because you let him be your friend.

A/N:  First Jerome one-shot, and I wanted it to be good, considering there are so many good ones out there already. Expect lots of updates coming your way. Hang on to your hats, folks. Cause you ain't seen nothing yet!
