Music (Part Two) // Jerome Valeska

He slowly enters the room again.

You feel threatened, but at the same time comforted. It's very paradoxical. You feel very useless: being used as bait. The direness of the situation sinks in. Someone would come to save you, namely Jim, (whoever that is), and they would most likely die. It's a sad thought.

But, maybe no one would come, you think as you sit there. No one would come, after all, you don't know anyone that unselfish. This lie, that you take for truth, it envelopes you.

"Well, hon. I'll be back soon, I'm getting bored." He saunters out of the room.

Thirty minutes pass by as you look at your limited options. And by limited, you mean none.

The only thing you can do is sit and wait for your capturer to return. This could very well drive you to insanity. Not to mention that you are becoming extremely hungry since you haven't eaten supper yet.

~

A long time has passed since you gave up trying to get out. You had tried everything; smashing the chair against the door, screaming.

Well, maybe you didn't try everything, but you did everything you could think of.

Eventually, you fell asleep. The stress of the day dissolving in the peaceful abyss of slumber. Until you wake up.

The scent of cotton candy fills your nostrils, as you hear the door open. Jerome walks into the room, holding a large bag which produces the sweet smell.

"Hi-yah, Y/N. I'm back!" He says with his signature laugh.

"Want some?" He asks, holding the plastic bag closer to you.

You are about to take some until you think about how it could possibly be poisoned. You shake your head in refusal. At this he grabs a huge chunk of the blue fluff, and shoves it in his mouth, grinning. You know he did that so you would know it wasn't poisoned. You give in to your hunger and reluctantly accept his offering.

He genuinely smiles at you, which is really odd, since he kidnapped you. You are so exhausted, its hard to stay awake.

"Can I leave now? It's obvious that no one's coming. Why not? I mean, I won't say anything." You ask boldly.

"I don't think you should go just yet."

"But I'm tired, and I would appreciate sleeping on my bed. Not the floor of a psycho's house!" You glare at him, and he looks thoughtfully at you, then turns to the door and flings it wide. Shock fills you and you jump up, sprinting to the door.

Before you can make it out, he snatches your waist, hugging you close. You instinctively stiffen, even though his warm chest is a comfort in the cold room.

"Let go of me. Immediately." You say in what you think is a threatening voice, but is apparently not, due to his giggles.

"Why so serious?" He whispers seductively into your ear. You violently yank away, his grip failing. Tripping over a small carpet, you crash on the floor. Groaning, you haul yourself up and glare at Jerome.

He shrugs and starts walking, you cautiously follow him. Jerome leads you to a door and opens it for you. You flick on the light and behold a huge bed, and next to that a nightstand.

"I'm not going to sleep with you." His face goes unusually humorless at that statement.

"I would never force you to do anything...besides, I'm sleeping in a different room." Surprisingly you believe him.

You wake up, and the room is dark still. Getting up to investigate, you hear voices in the hall.

"So... You got a note telling you to come to this dump. And we came why?"

"This is a hostage situation, Harvey. Jerome kidnapped someone, and we got to find him."

You open the door a crack and see two men walking with guns in their hands.

"Hello?" You whisper tentatively.

"Yes! Who's there?" The second voice replies.

"My name's Y/N, I was kidnapped. Can you help me?"

"Yes, come on, we'll get you out of here." You hastily trail behind them. They lead you outside, and the grey sky greets you.

"Do you know where Jerome is!" The smaller one demands.

"No, I don't. Are you Jim?"

"Yeah, that's his name. How do you know it." The other guy says.

"Jerome mentioned it. Can I go now?" They look at you, then nod their consent to you leaving.

After you get to your small apartment, you think about how easy it was to escape, knowing that if he didn't want you to leave, you wouldn't have been able to. Sadness fills your heart, but you shove it away. Back to my boring life, you think to yourself. You lie on the ground, oddly depressed.

A noise startles you, but you see that it's just your neighbor.

I just need a walk, you reason. So you take a shower and then go for a stroll.

~

Your feet take you to a large circus tent and hoping you'll feel better, you decide to go. But you change your mind when you see so many couples going in. So you head back home.

The walk was cold and did nothing to help your mood.

When you reached your apartment again, you went to bed and dreamt of being alone forever.

A/n - oof, this ending sucks XD
