Harvey X Reader

Imagine going out for lunch with Harvey and Jim, and Jim revealing to Harvey that you like him.

Today was just another day at the GCPD. Long, boring, and loud. You caught a few petty thieves, and managed to fill out all the paper work before lunchtime.

Your desk is right beside Jim's and in front of Harvey's, so at least you get to chat with them whenever they're there.

Now, you sit listening to Harvey and Jim talk about some new criminal they've been tracking down.

Your belly grumbles, an indicator that it's lunchtime, so you look under your desk where you always put your lunch bag. Only it's not there.

You frown, and rummage around for awhile before giving up.

"Trouble Y/n?" Jim asks, looking over at you.

You sigh and lean back in your chair, "I forgot my lunch at home."

"You can join me and Harvey, we're going to a diner soon. You're welcome to come."

You glance down shyly, "You sure? I-"

"It's no problem," Harvey cuts in, "Jim may bore me to death."

"Okay," you shrug, and follow them out of the precinct.

At the diner, you order your favourite meal and sit in the booth quietly, listening to them talk. You sit next to Jim on the aisle seat with Jim at the window and Harvey on the other side.

"What do you think?"

It takes awhile for you to realize that Harvey was talking to you.

You look down, "Uh I wouldn't know."

"Thanks for letting me tag along," you add.

"Ah, it's no problem, can't have you starving on us now, can we?" Harvey replies, smirking and taking a sip from his flask.

A light blush creeps onto your cheeks at Harvey's classic smirk. "I'll pay for my own food, of course. It's just nice to have someone to eat with."

A few minutes into lunch, you excuse yourself and head into the bathroom. While you're away, Jim and Harvey discuss you.

"Y'know, she's not half bad." Harvey mentions as he sips his coffee.

Jim chuckles as if he knows something that Harvey doesn't.

"What? Something funny?"

"Ha, it's nothing."

Harvey glares at him suspiciously, "What is it Jim? Is there something you ain't telling me? I swear to g-"

"No, no Harv." But Jim still chuckles.

"Tell me right now," Harvey orders.

"Fine, I'll tell you. Harv, Y/n likes you."

"Heh, now it's my turn to laugh!"

"No, seriously! She told me herself, and she's always blushing around you. C'mon Harv, it's obvious."

Harvey considers this for a moment. He remembers all the times you blushed and looked down when he was talking, and how you always seem to stare at him when you think no one's looking. How you always laugh at his jokes, and how many times you've gotten him coffees and danishes.

He lets out a low breath, "Well, that explains a lot."

Jim smirks, "You should ask her out, before she loses interest."

"Wha? No, you know I always say office romance always leads to tears. Tears. I don't want that to happen again, ok?"

Jim shrugs, just as you return.

"What'd I miss?" You smile, sliding back into your seat.

"Nothing." Harv replies.

But as he looks at you, he wonders if it's worth a shot.

Maybe this time an office romance would work out and not end in tears.

Also, should I start doing little synopses at the beginning of each one?

And should I try my hand at preferences? I've never done one before, so I want to know if you guys would want me to start doing those? It has potential to be awesome.
