It was a few weeks after Piotr and Dinah's date. Every now and then, they would smile at each other. Peter and Piotr were in the training room, Piotr lifted weights, and Pete spotted. "So, have you told Dinah how you feel?" asked Peter. "That depends," replied Piotr, "have you told Barbara you like her?" Peter blushed a little. "Well, she's busy..." Peter shyly said. "Come now Peter," said Piotr, "it is obvious you have feelings for her. And she smiles sometimes when she sees you." Peter smirked and said, "Would you believe it if I said Virgil and Jessica are betting on us?" Piotr gave a dumbfounded look and said, "What? I'd get Jessica making a bet, but Virgil? He doesn't seem like the betting type."

"Well they're betting on which one of us gets the girl," said Peter, "if I get together with Barbara first, Jess owes Virgil $20. If you get together with Dinah before me, Virgil owes Jessica $20." Piotr laughed and asked, "And if we both do so at same time?" Peter pondered that and said, "I believe Claire was involved with the bet, and if we both got together with Dinah and Barbara at the same time, then Virgil and Jessica owe her $40 combined."  Piotr laughed, "Well then, let's make Claire proud." Virgil then walked in and said, "Guys, the alarm's on! Let's go!" The three men then got out of the training room and assembled with the rest of the team. "What's going on?" asked Peter. "SHIELD is stating that there's a Code 123," said Barbara, "anyone know what that means?"

"It's an interdimensional threat," stated Peter, "someone or something is breaching this Earth."

"Is it dangerous?" asked Jessica. "That's what scares me," said Barbara, "I don't know. It could be an evil doppelganger." Dinah rolled her eyes and said, "Yeah, cuz that's what we need, the Crime Syndicate causing trouble." Jessica's sarcasm was beginning to rub off on Dinah. "The breach is on Schumacher Street," said Barbara, "let's suit up, get to Excelsior, and drive over to Schumacher Street to see who or what the threat is. If it's not a threat, we won't attack. Let's suit up Avengers." Everyone got into their super suits, and ran to Excelsior. They got in the car, and drove away. Dani was spending time with Luke.

Meanwhile, on Schumacher Street, blue lightning was sparking everywhere. Excelsior parked, and the Gotham Avengers got out of the car. "Remember Avengers," instructed Batwoman, "attack only if they attack first. We don't know if this could be a threat, so stay ready." The blue lightning continued to spark, until a portal appeared. Out of the portal came a man. The suit was familiar, yet armored and alien-like. There was a big red S that the Gotham Avengers were all too familiar with. It was Superman! Or, at least his doppelganger.

"Superman?" Virgil asked in surprise, "is that you?" Superman nodded and said, "Yes Virgil. I may not be the Superman you personally know, in fact I am from a different dimension entirely. It's funny, I didn't expect to be in Gotham City again. I was expecting there to be Avengers."

"You're looking for The Avengers, Supes?" asked Power-Woman, "We're right here. We're an Avengers team in Gotham City." Superman smirked and said, "That may explain why there's Spider-Man and an X-Man on the team. I didn't expect Black Canary, Static, and Batgirl on the team."

"She's Batwoman!" Spider-Man said, offended. "You succeeded Katherine's mantle, Barbara?" Superman asked, and she nodded, "Who leads the team?"

"I'm the leader," said Batwoman, "is there a way we can help you?" Superman nodded and said, "I wish to speak to Tony Stark. He has information I need that could help me save my planet. I'll come quietly with you if you let me speak to Stark. No fights." Batwoman nodded and said, "Come with us." During this time, Peter's Spider-Senses were tingling. Something felt wrong. His Spider-Senses were telling Peter he shouldn't trust this doppelganger. "Alright Avengers, we'll have Superman meet up with us at Stark Industries," said Batwoman, "I'll call Tony right now." As Batwoman called Tony Stark, Spidey whispered to Power-Woman, "Something doesn't feel right..." Power-Woman whispered back , "Same here. I got a bad feeling about this."
