Barbara was looking at Peter and Bruce, at a loss for words. For many years, she always wanted to be a part of teams like the Teen Titans or the Justice League of America, but nobody ever offered her the opportunity back when she was Batgirl. When she was Oracle, she was able to work as a team with the Birds of Prey, but it just wasn't the same. Now that she was Batwoman, not only was she offered the opportunity to be a part of The Avengers, but also to lead The Avengers! Okay, it wasn't the original Avengers, but this was the big leagues! Still...

"Are you serious?" she asked, "Why not have someone like Nightwing lead the team?"

"Nightwing already leads the Titans," stated Peter, "besides, you've got one thing he doesn't." Barbara looked at Peter and asked, "And what's that?"

"Credibility," said Bruce, "Barbara, you've proven to be a valuable ally with your combat skills and computer skills not only as Batgirl, but also Oracle. You've earned my respect, and if things were different, you would have made an excellent asset to SHIELD."

"But are you sure I'm mentally fit to lead?" Barbara asked, "After what I've done as Darkwing, and with Joker?" Bruce sighed and said, "The Joker was a monster. He was beyond any redemption or help, and I should've realized that after what he did to you and Jason." Peter put his hand on Barbara's shoulder and said, "And that was in the past. If there's anyone who I'd follow into battle, it would be you Barbara. I have faith in you." Barbara smiled, happy to know Peter had more faith in her than Dick. Ever since Peter and Tony Stark helped get her legs back, Barbara had been debating with herself whether she had feelings for Peter.

"Who else is going to be part of this team?" Barbara asked. "Dinah will be part of the team," stated Bruce. "We're going to ask some of my friends if they'd like to join," said Peter. "Well if you and Dinah are part of the team, I'll gladly join," said Barbara. Peter happily shook her hand and said, "Well then, congratulations. Welcome to the Gotham Avengers, boss."
