Chapter Eleven

Sitting patiently waiting for the names to be announced during the Halloween feast, Pierce turned to Julius who's leg was bouncing up and down in his seat.

"Why are you so fidgety?" Pierce asked him.

"What are you talking about? I'm not fidgety, you're fidgety!"

"Once again, we really need to work on your debate skills as well as your comebacks." Pierce sighed. "Julius, you're practically shaking the entire bench. So either tell me what's going on in that mind of yours, or sit on the floor before everyone on this side of the table gets motion sickness."

"I don't know...I have a bad feeling in my stomach right now."

"Probably from eating too much-"

"No, it's not from food. Trust me, I know the difference." Julius said. "It's about the Goblet choosing the champions. I don't like this right now."

"What are you talking about, you were excited earlier!"

"I know, but this feeling came back and I'm not sure. I saw some stuff man."

Pierce raised a brow. "Uh..what kind of stuff?" he asked with concern.

"In Professor Trelawney's class. I saw it in my tea leaves."

"Oh goodness." Pierce rolled his eyes.

"No, wait, I know, it sounds like a load of rubbish, but I'm telling you, if I read them right, it predicted chaos. Mass chaos."

Pierce studied his friend's face, trying to figure out if Julius was just trying to mess with him, but Julius looked right towards the cup. "Something just doesn't feel right about this, Pierce."

"Well..let's look at the possibilties of things going wrong, Julius." Pierce said taking the logical approach. "Not only do we have Professor Dumbledore and a staff full of capable witches and wizards, we also have the Ministry here to monitor the tournament. I don't know how much can go wrong when you have so many powerful people in one place."

Julius nodded his head. "You're right...you're probably right. I just...I can't shake this feeling."

"Relax, eat some candy." Pierce grabbed one of the bowls filled with candy and placed it before his friend. "Candy always makes you happy."

Julius smiled at him. "Thanks. You know me so well."

"Well, of course I do. You're my best friend, Julius. Now eat up and feel better. I can't have my best friend being gloomy. That's my job most of the time."

Finally, it came time for the Goblet to choose the three champions to compete in the tournament. Everyone face forward as the names were to be chosen and announced. Pierce watched as the Goblet turned red before spitting out a piece of parchment with a name written on it.

The first Champion had been chosen.

Viktor Krum from Durmstrang. The Durmstrang students cheered for their chosen champion as well as the rest of Hogwarts and Beauxbatons clapped along.

The Goblet turned red again as another name was cast out.

Fleur Delacour was called for Beauxbatons.

"Merlin," Julius squeaked from beside Pierce.

"What?"

"I think I just met the mother of my future children." Julius said placing his chin into the palm of his hand.

Pierce gave Julius a look. "Really? What will your pillow think?"

"To hell with the pillow, if I have someone like that holding me at night, I'll sleep on the floor."

"You have a lot of problems, Julius. Too many in fact. You don't even know the girl and I can already see the gears in your mind planning out your life together with her!"

"Can you blame me? Look at her!"

"Yes, Julius, I can see her. But you don't even know her."

"I don't care."

"What happened to Parvati?"

"Who?"

"Dammit, Julius! Just a few minutes ago, you were bent out of shape over the tournament and now you're trying to make a life with one of the Champions."

"Our children would be beautiful."

"I'm going to ignore you until the feast is over."

"Good by then, I will have figured my entire life out with her."

Pierce shook his head in attempts to ignore Julius and returned his attention to the Goblet as it gave out the final name.

Cedric Diggory from Hufflepuff was selected to enter the tournament to represent Hogwarts. Pierce clapped his hands for the upperclassman.

"Well that's that." he said going to turn to Julius. However, before he could turn, the Goblet turned red once more, sparks sputtered out, and another name was thrown from the Goblet into the air.

Julius and Pierce both froze along with everyone in the Great Hall.

Dumbledore looked to the name in his hand before calling it out.

Julius looked to Pierce who was wide eyed and speechless.

"No way."
