E.I.G.H.T
She sat on the sofa, not even daring to light the fire just in case. Her hands shook, her entire body shook. She knew Taehyung would lecture her if she had left the cabin to go search for him, but she worried so much. She held her own hands to stop them from shaking. She had finished her pancakes long ago, and she was ready for her next meal, but she knew if she ate now she would likely be sick with panic whilst she waited for Taehyung to arrive back at the cabin.
The wind howled outside, the rain pouring. The quiet patter of the rain she had gotten used to, but when the wind pushed against the window and made the rain sound like hammering. She jumped.
She heard knocking at the door, and she stood up and tiptoed quietly to see if it was Taehyung, in one hand she held a fire poker, the end sharp just in case she had to fend off the cabin from the strange man who had tried to kill her.
She peeked through the fish eye and saw a hooded man looking down, her heart raced thinking it was Taehyung. She unlocked the door, and opened it and the man simply walked down the path and out of sight into the raining woods. She looked around and that's when she felt her pancakes coming back up-
She let out an ear piercing scream, the fire poker dropping to the floor and she bent over, gagging and retching at the sight. On the door step to the cabin laid a mangled body. She could tell it wasn't Taehyung just by the clothes they were wearing, but the person that was dead on her doorstep was young, and most definitely had a life to live.
Her entire body shook as she knelt in the doorway, eyes glued to the body, unable to draw it away. The rain hammered down, the blood soaking into the floor.
She didn't know how long she was knelt there until she felt arms wrap around her tightly.
"I heard you scream and ran as fast as I could." Taehyung's familiar voice panted softly. She sobbed. She sobbed into his chest as she held onto him tight. "I went out to get some fruit for us - I didn't realise how long I would be..."
She couldn't form a reply, choking on the sobs as she held onto him as if her life depended on it.
"I'll... lay him to rest." He sighed softly. "We can tell the police when we finally get out of here."
She nodded weakly, her heart pounding in her chest still.
"You go inside, and go relax. I'll be in soon, I promise." Taehyung whispered, his cold wet hands stroking her hair out of her face. She nodded and stood with shaky legs and walked inside of the cabin.
She sat on the couch, body trembling with shock. She sat there, unable to hear anything but Taehyung shoveling the wet soil.
Remember in chapter five when you left it at even votes? I told you I wouldn't forget Option 3...
Tell Taehyung that as soon as the weather brightens up you two should hike for the road to hitchhike home.
Wait it out the next few days before Taehyung's friend comes to pick you two up to take you home.
