6 weeks before the abduction

dallon texted josh that he had arrived at his apartment. he was picking him and ryan up to head to a show that the brobecks had.

ryan had never seen them preform yet, so they were both really excited.

"he's here." josh said, turning off his phone and grabbing his wallet. ryan did the same and followed josh out the building to dallons truck. the back end was filled with dallons instruments.

"hey guys." dallon said when the two boys got into the car. "hey baby." he said to josh

josh blushed as they both said hey back.

"are you ready?" ryan asked.

"oh yeah, i got a whole new song to play tonight, never been heard before." dallon smiled.  he started to drive to the place he was playing at.

"not even by me?" josh questioned.

"nope, not even you." dallon shook his head.

"what's it called?" josh asked.

"cant tell you. you just gotta wait like all the normal people." dallon said, amusement in his voice.

"haha your ass isn't getting you special treatment this time." ryan teased, josh rolling his eyes and huffing.

"no fair." josh said, everyone laughing.

"what's songs are you playing that i do know?" josh asked.

"besides the new one," dallon thought for a moment

"alright let's see, we've got choke, if you like it or not, razzmatazz, small cuts, leave me alone, goodnight socialite, and all of the drugs." dallon recited off. "the new one is last."

"i haven't heard all of the drugs or leave me alone i don't think. and i haven't heard razzmatazz live yet." josh said.

"i've only heard choke, josh showed me it was pretty hardcore." ryan shrugged, everyone laughing.

"well it should be a good show then." dallon said.

"where's brendon?" josh asked.

"he went home for the weekend." dallon replied.

"i miss him." josh fake sniffled.

"i'm sure he misses you more." dallon said.

"alright should be right up here on the lefttttt, yep there it is." dallon turned into the place that they were performing. it was an underground little venue. it held around 100 people.

"how do the tickets and stuff work?" ryan asked.

"it's first come first serve." dallon replied. they walked up to the entrance.

"hi, i'm playing tonight." dallon said to the man out front.

"can i see your card please?" the bouncer asked. dallon showed him his card that said he was the band.

"alright y'all are good." he smiled.

"they're with me also." dallon said, gesturing to the two boys.

"alright," he said, allowing them to walk in.

"when is it supposed to start?" ryan asked.

"around 7. they gotta set stuff up first." josh answered as they followed dallon to the 'backstage' area. it was 6 now.

"alright baby, gotta run through some stuff. i'll see you out there?" dallon asked, leaning down and kissing his cheek.

"front and center." josh smiled, kissing his lips back.

"good luck!" ryan said, following josh out to the main part. there was a little stage, and a little barricade separating it from the main standing area.

there was also a bar to the side of the room, and a few tables in the very back. the place was decorate very grunge like.

josh and ryan sat at the barstools and talked for a bit, while watching the employees set up dallons things on the stage. he hung up their banner that said the brobecks on it.

"it's 6:30." ryan said.

"are you excited?" josh chuckled, seeing he was antsy waiting for it to start.

"very. i've never been to one of these concerts i've always wanted to go." ryan said, taking a hit off his cart. he offered it to josh which he accepted.

"i'm ready to hear the new song." josh said, handing the cart back and attempting to suppress his coughs.

"me- too-" ryan choked out.

"oh they're opened the doors, we should stand now." josh said, the two boys standing in the front middle as people started pouring in.

they waited for a little while longer, until the lights dimmed down and everyone started cheering as a dim humming sound started from the speakers.

josh excited looked at ryan as he heard the siren at the beginning of 'choke' and dallon walk out on stage.

"YEAHHHHH!" josh screamed, clapping and yelling as he finished up the song. dallon smiled and blushed.

"thank you all for coming out tonight, uh i hope i make it worth your time," dallon said into the microphone. "this next song is called if you like it or not."

the backing music started up again, dallon joined in on the instruments.

everyone cheered when he finished the song, some singing along and some just having a good time. everyone was loving him.

"oh, this is razzmatazz! i'm so excited." josh smiled and jumped up and down.

"thank you! thank you everyone!" dallon said into the mic, just finishing up the last song.

"alright alright, i got one more song to play for y'all." dallon said, a few 'boos' being heard because they were almost done. dallon chuckled.

"this song is actually pretty important to me," dallon started. "it's about someone."

"oh my god is it me?" josh gasped and looked at ryan. ryan just looked back and slowly started chuckling. he was kinda in the clouds a little.

"recently, i've found someone very very special. and they happen to be in the crowd tonight." dallon said and kinda gestured to josh. everyone screamed and cheered.

"i wrote this song for him, no one's ever heard it before, so i figured i'd share it with him while i'm doing what i love most." dallon smiled.

"alright alright, joshua, this is for you." dallon looked at him and smiled. josh looked back teary eyed and mouth dropped.

the music started up, dallon taking a quick sip of water before starting to play. he looked at josh and smiled big. ryan pulled up his phone and started recording.

josh stared in awe, dallon making eye contact with him while he sung.

"ryan i'm gonna marry this man i think." josh said to ryan, him smiling and playfully shaking him.

"oh my god," josh covered his mouth in awe.

dallon smiled big at josh, who was still in shock.

the song took an instrumental break, while dallon jumped off the stage and went to the barricade.

he immediately went to josh and connected their lips, and grabbed both of his hands.

"i love you josh." dallon smiled. "i want you to know that i love you more than any word can describe." dallon finished up with another long kiss. he smiled, turning back and jumping back on the stage.

everyone in the crowd was screaming and awing, ryan was recording the whole thing, and josh was having the best night of his life.

"thank you guys, i'm the brobecks and you guys were amazing." dallon said into the mic, the lights dimmed and they walked backstage.

"did you know?!" josh gasped and looked at ryan.

"no i swear! i think i just fell in love with him." ryan said, the boys laughing.

"oh my god. he's literally perfect." josh said.

"you love him." ryan smiled. the crowd started to filter out.

"i really do." josh said, ryan smiling.

a worker came up to the boys and ushered them backstage. they walked there and saw dallon sitting on the couch drinking water and talking to an employee.

"joshua." dallon smiled, josh running up and jumping into his arms.

"you are the light of my life dallon." josh said quietly into his ear. "i wanna spend the rest of my life with you too. i love you."

"i figured you did." dallon smiled big, connecting their lips.

"dallon, will you marry me?" ryan asked, everyone laughing.

"of course ry."
