Goodbye forever

He was pacing in the living room, worried for his mother, who has been suffering from leukemia for 2 and half years. Tomorrow would have been his best day if she hadn't been ill. And he was feeling that he should go to the forest nearby, and it'd save his mother and someone else too. but why?

"That's ridiculous!' he thought. After all, his mother was on the dead bed and he was thinking of running to the forest.

"How is your mother?" she asked gently, placing her one hand on his arm and another on her stomach.

"I don't know, Sophie, I don't know. I don't think she has much to live." he said smiling sadly seeing his child growing in his love's stomach.

She was sad too. She hadn't seen him this sad from the time his father died. He would absolutely break if his mother died. She hoped that if that happens, she'd be able to mend his heart.

Next day wasn't pleasant either. Instead of having a relaxing time with his family, he was at the hospital. His mother's condition had gotten worse than before. The doctors and nurses were running in and out of his mother's room in the hospital.

A doctor then came wearing a sad and gloomy face. He stood up. "How is it going Dr. Green?"

"I'm sorry sir, but your mother has only about an hour to live. I'd recommend you to say your goodbyes now.'' He said.

He went in. Tears started to flow from his eyes unwillingly. But his mother smiled like she always did.

"Dear, come here and sit. I need to tell you something."

He went near her. "What is it, mom?"

"Whatever I say, please don't be angry." Unable to say anything, he just nodded.

"One day, your father and I were walking near the forest when we saw you, lying on the ground, unconscious. We took you in the hospital and aided you. When you woke up, you remembered nothing except your name. We put advertisements but no one came to get you. We had no child, so we took you in, adopted you. I'm sorry for not telling you earlier." She said. And started coughing.

"Is this true?" He asked. She nodded, coughing.

"I hate you. I hate you for dying." He said sadly, but didn't mean it. Well half. He hated her for dying though.

She smiled again. "Dear, please tell me 'I love you' one last time even though you don't mean it." She said. It was like something snapped within him. Memories flooded in him.

"I love you and I mean it." He said. Then she took her last breath. He kissed her on top of her head and ran away to the parking lot and drove away, tears streaking down his face.

Sophie saw him in that state and followed him, in her own car. He drove to the forest and went to the place he last saw his mother, Sophie following behind him.

He saw her, her throat slit open and she, lying in the pool of her own blood. When she saw him, she smiled softly, even through the pain.

"I see you've come." She said softly, just like he remembered. Sophie was there, staying in the background, seeing the whole scent unfold.

"But, my child, it's too late." She paused. "And I know what you're thinking. No, I won't survive even if you take me to the hospital." Blood spluttered as she talked. Then her face brightened uncontrollably.

"My child, who is she? Is she the one?" She said.

He turned around. His face pink when he saw her. "Yes, she is my one and only. Her name is Sophie." He proudly stated.

"Come and sit near, my dear one. Ok, my children, Luke's father is Drew Summers."

"Wait, Drew Summers, as in dark brown hair and green eyes?" Sophie said.

"Yes. How do you know him?"

"Well, he was my adopted father and his wife and my adoptive mother was Linda Love."

"Was she brown-eyed, raven haired beauty?"

"Yes and how do you know her?"

"Simple, my sister."

"Can someone tell me, what's going on?" Sophie interrupted.

"Sure." Luke said and told her everything. Sophie was shocked and in awe. At the end, all she could do was squeak a little 'wow'.

"So son, please take care of your children. And don't ever give up on them and Sophie. You have my approval for marriage." She said and slipped into eternal darkness.

"I love you. Goodbye, mother." He said and hugged her. He then carried her body and went to
the car.

At the funeral, both his mother's bodies were there. He told everything his mothers told to him to others. He even announced that his love was pregnant and proposed her for marriage. It wasn't easy, but he recovered slowly and surely with the help of Sophie. He has children and now is living a happy life with his family.

                                          THE END
