I remember the day I got the call, it was 10am on a Sunday and I had been cleaning out my car, I was dressed in an old sweatshirt and yoga pants trying to clean out a pizza sauce stain a friend had left me the day before. The call was brief, but it would mean the world to me; "You're playing Felicity Smoak on that new TV show Arrow! You need to be at VFS in 3 days time"
My first day on set was hectic, Stephen and David had already developed this friendship and Willa and Katie C did everything together, I felt left out for about and hour, than Willa began gossiping to me about drama on other sets and Katie C helped me run lines, David made me less nervous, and Stephen welcomed me with a hug... I was part of the family in seconds.
I remember talk about the writers killing me off in 7 episodes, I thought I should make my time on set last, than the fans love poured in and the writers decided not to, than they made me a love interest and back story and a family and a plot and I became a main part of the Arrowverse, connecting the Flash and Arrow, being referenced on Legends and eventually a great ally to the Supergirl. It happened so fast I nearly missed it.
It's with heavy heart that I announce I'm not continuing as Felicity Smoak in the new Emerald Steel series. My time as the blonde hacker has been so amazing and life changing, but it's time to move on, try new things, explore, and experience the unknown.
My cast mates- no, my Family, have been so supportive and helpful in this time, I know if I ever need their help they'll be at my side. I hope to one day maybe reprise my role or maybe in 15 years I can try my shot at Donna Smoak. I love you all my Archers and hackers, farewell my friend, Felicity 💚
