Prologue
"Happy birthday, Akari!"
Laughter echoed through the house. A young girl happily spent the day with her parents.
Then night came.
"Remember, even though your priority may be the lives of others, you have a life as well. Do what you think is right, even if the entire world is against it. Make friends, ones that will love and cherish you, and make you happy, all right? Know that no matter what you do, we will always love and support you."
Her mother softly said. Akari frowned. Something didn't feel right to her.
"Okaa-san, is everything alright? You seem so serious."
She asked. Her mother visibly flinched a bit, which didn't go unnoticed by her. She fixed her stare on her with that disconcerting gaze of her. The way she looked at you, it was like she was looking straight through you. Every move you made, every breath you took, it felt like she was observing you, finding out things that you yourself didn't know.
How could I have been so stupid? Of course she would've noticed something was wrong.
Her mother gave her forced a smile onto her face. "No, nothing's wrong. Now, you should go to bed, it's getting late." She assured her. Akari knew that the smile was forced, and the cheeriness in her voice was fake, but she obliged and started walking up the stairs. That was a decision she would very soon come to regret. "Guddonaito, Okaa-san, Otou-san." She said.
"Wait."
She stopped and turned around. "Is there a problem, Otou-san?" She asked. He shook his head. "Akari, if one day, I'm gone, take my eyes and transplant them into yours. Promise me you will." He said. The aura became heavy and serious.
Why is he asking me to do this?
Nonetheless, she nodded, and began walking up the stairs again.
Little did she know about the horrors that awaited her.
Around midnight, she woke up. It was a strange feeling, winding around her body and sending shivers up her spine. It sapped her of her strength and hope like she intuitively knew that something had happened. Something bad.
On intuition, she walked downstairs. The scent of blood drifted through the air.
What was going on?
She reached the bottom of the stairs, and walked around the corner, intent on finding out what had happened. In no way could she ever have been prepared for this sight, even if she saw it a thousand times over.
Her blood ran cold.
Standing in front of her was Itachi.
And in front of him were the dead bodies of Ayaka Hatake and Haru Uchiha.
Her parents.
Red. That was all she could see.
Blood. So much...blood...
Her hands were coated in blood.
Her parents were lying in a pool of blood.
The katana that belonged to the murderer of her parents was slick with blood.
Blood...everywhere.
°°°
As she looked up at him, he knew something was wrong.
Not a single tear had been shed. No lingering sadness, hidden anger, exuberant despair...
Nothing. No emotion at all.
She stared at him with hollow, lifeless eyes.
He immediately knew that this was no ordinary child.
"It was an order, wasn't it?"
He flinched. How could she have known?
"So it was an order. You're too much of a pacifist to kill them out of your own free will. I know far more about you than you think, and probably too much for my own good."
He stared down at her.
"How much do you know?"
He demanded.
"The Uchiha massacre was most likely a mission given to by the higher ups of Konoha, more specifically, probably Sarutobi-san or Danzo. You were branded as a rouge shinobi after. Having nowhere to go, you joined the Akatsuki."
She mumbled. His eyes narrowed.
"How do you know all this?"
She tilted her head.
"None of this I knew for sure, but recently Kaa-san and Tou-san have been theriorizing and calculating why you murdered the Uchiha Clan. They knew of the tension between them and the village. It wasn't hard to deduce the most probable reason. All I had to do was everything they told me not to, like eavesdropping on their supposedly adulterated conversations when all they do in reality is swear, and pit metal in the microwave to cause a distraction so I can take a look at the notes they scribbled down."
She knew too much. Too smart, too strong.
A born prodigy. He could only imagine how powerful she would become in the future.
As he stared at her, he noticed something different about her eyes.
There was a pinwheel pattern in them.
Mangekyou sharingan.
She was as skilled as a low jonin.
She had an IQ of at least 140, maybe even more. On a scale of one to ten, her speed was probably over 3.5 on a scale of one to five, judging by the way she walked lightly and silently. She had her guard up, ready to dodge or strike at any given moment.
"If it isn't too much trouble, I'd like to meet the other members waiting outside."
So she was a sensor as well.
"Fine. Come with me."
She followed me out obediently, like there was nothing wrong with obeying the person who had just murdered your parents in cold blood's every word.
"So this is the kid of that bitch. There's nothing preventing us from killing her, is there?"
Hidan asked. I sighed. This wasn't going to end well.
"Hidan, I don't suggest insulting her parents. She can have a very colourful vocabu-"
I got cut off by Akari.
°°°
"Mind repeating that, you masochistic little shit? If memory serves me right, last time you fought the so called 'bitch', you lost. I wonder what that fucking makes you? You're just some hoe who lets themself be used as a voodoo doll to appease some fucking deity that doesn't exist."
Akari growled.
"Shut up."
He hissed, and swung his scythe at her.
She grabbed it with her hand, and crushed it.
"It seems like you want to die today."
She said in a monotone voice. Suddenly, she disappeared.
The Akatsuki quickly raised their guards up as they searched for any trace of her.
Nothing.
Suddenly, a hand stabbed through Hidan, his heart in it. The heart was crushed, and the hand was pulled out of his chest.
Then, the world around them shattered.
She had used the Tsukuyomi.
"Goodbye. It was nice meeting you, Hoshigaki-san, Hidan-san. Until next time."
She murmmured, and walked back into her house.
As the Akatsuki members stared at her, only one word came to mind that could describe her.
Dangerous.
