A/N:
Lol sorry I was late, school happened and made my life a living hell. Chapter may or may not be crappy.
A hooded figure walked towards the gates of Konohagakure. She stopped a few feet away. Looking up at the sky, a small smile crept onto her face.
Home at last...
She walked the last few feet and stopped in front of the gates.
"Halt. Who are you and what is your business in Konoha?"
Izumo demanded. She looked up, hood casting shadows over the top half of her face, concealing her identity.
"My name is unimportant. I wish to have a private audience with Hokage-sama."
She said. Izumo and Kotetsu looked at each other. That voice...it sounded so familiar. A calculative way of talking, like she was carefully selecting each word they said. Soft yet clear, with a tone that was oddly haunting, one that made you want to commit her words to memory.
Just who was she?
"Sure, kid. Follow me to the Hokage tower."
Izumo finally said. They walked side by side towards the center of the village. The hooded figure looked around as they did.
Kids were playing in the park, running around, or with their parents. She recognized the dango shop that she always loved to go to with Itachi, Ichiraku Ramen where she first met Naruto, and the Nara compound, where she had first Shikamaru.
This place really hasn't changed a bit, has it?
Her eyes raked the crowd, searching for two people. As she turned around the corner, she saw one of them.
Uchiha Sasuke.
He was directly in front of her. She looked up, gray eyes flashing for a moment. His eyes widened. He stopped. Time seemed to move in slow motion as she brushed past him. As she walked away, he came back to his senses and continued walking, slightly dazed.
Those silver eyes...that couldn't have been her...could it?
"Hey, kid, who are you? Your voice seems so familiar, but I can't remember your name."
Izumo asked.
"I believe you know me quite well, Izumo-san. After all, you were the one who told me to come back and visit, weren't you?"
She said with a small, teasing smile on her face.
His eyes widened.
°°°
"Sayonara, Izumo-san, Kotetsu-san."
The little silverette said. I chuckled. This kid, she was already saying full sentences at 9 months old.
"Remember to come back and visit, alright?"
I said with a slight teasing tone.
"Sure! You have my word on it!"
°°°
He grinned, getting over the momentary shock.
"Man, you really have gotten taller. I thought you were 14 when you arrived at the gates."
She let out a small laugh.
"Is it that I'm tall, or that the other people are short?"
She mused.
Yep. That's the same old Akari we know.
They arrived at the Hokage's office. Izumo knocked on the door, and opened it. There were shinobi inside. It seemed as if there was a meeting going on.
"Pardon the interruption, Sandaime-sama. This child arrived at the gates today and has requested a private audience with you."
Izumo told him.
"Don't worry, it's fine. You may leave, for now. We will continue this meeting later."
Hiruzen said, excusing the ninja in the room.
"See you later. Bye."
Akari said, looking over her shoulder. He nodded, and shut the door behind him.
She walked up until she was a meter away from Hiruzen's desk.
"I believe that I asked for a private audience. I'm not quite sure, but I think that means removal of all ANBU from the room as well."
She said. His eyes narrowed.
So the child is a sensor?
"Leave the room."
He said, adressing the ANBU concealed around the room. Hesitantly, they did.
"Only you and I are left in this room now. Who are you?"
He questioned.
She drew back her hood. He instantly recognized her.
Pale gray eyes.
Soft silver hair.
Porcelain skin.
"Akari Uchiha Hatake."
She said, a smile playing on her lips.
"So you've come back."
He stated. She nodded, then cast her gaze downwards.
"Ayaka Hatake and Haru Uchiha...
Have been assassinated by Itachi Uchiha. I wish for them to have a proper burial in Konohagakure."
She murmmured. As Hiruzen stared at her, thoughts swirled around in his mind.
What had she been though?
"I see. Would you like me to inform the others of your return?"
He carefully asked, changing the topic. She hesitated, then shook her head.
"I'll let them know myself at some point when I wish to. Here is the scroll containing their bodies."
She finalized, placing a scroll on his desk.
"Thank you. Is that all?"
He asked her. She nodded.
"Dismissed, then. Come back tomorrow at 1 o'clock tomorrow. We will be testing your skill level. Clear?"
He demanded.
"Crystal. I'll be taking my leave now."
She murmured, and teleported away.
Hiruzen sighed.
°°°
Even when the sun had set and the sky was painted a midnight blue, Sasuke still couldn't take his mind off what he had seen that afternoon. He remembered her so clearly, how she could manipulate someone so easily, how her silver eyes glinted in a way that made even his father, Fugaku, feel uneasy.
I'm going insane, aren't I?
He sighed and continued walking. He brushed it off, muttering that he probably just needed more sleep. As he unlocked the door, he felt as if there was an unfamiliar presence in his house. Cautiously, he entered his house.
Empty.
Moving on to check the other rooms, no matter how many of them were empty, he still couldn't shake the feeling of another presence.
Living room? Empty.
Closet? Empty.
Washroom? Empty.
Why did I even check in the washroom?
Was he just being paranoid? Or was there truly someone else in the house?
As he walked into his kitchen, he stopped.
He wasn't being paranoid at all.
There, sitting at the kitchen table, sipping a cup of tea, was a very familiar silverette.
Gently, she set down the cup, and turned around to face him.
"It's been a while, hasn't it, Sasuke-nii?"
