Massacre at the Jedi Temple

Disclaimer: I only own Charlotte Amidala Solo, who looks like the Scarlet Witch from Marvel but dark brown hair. Everyone else belongs to Disney/George Lucas. On with the story!

Charlotte POV:

I jolt up in my bed in my small room. Something's terribly wrong. Not bothering about putting on my Jedi robes, I shrug on my father's jacket over my fuchsia nightgown and grab my lightsaber from my nightstand.

I quickly run out of my room, igniting my turquoise lightsaber and letting its light blue hues splash on the cream walls around me. Focusing on the Force, I start to sprint down the hallways of the Jedi Temple on Yavin 4, one of the jungle planets in the Republic. I stretch my senses outwards, focusing on my twin brother, my uncle, and my friends. I find my uncle in no danger, which is good. Then, I attempt to search for Ben, finally finding him in a courtyard. I touch his Force signature with my own, recoiling immediately afterwards from the coldness and darkness emanating from him. I set my path for the courtyard where Ben is, skidding on the floor and sharply turning right. Finally, I reach the courtyard, retracting my lightsaber's lit blade. I wish I hadn't.

I see a semicircle of men clad in black robes with masks covering their faces, shrouding them in darkness. In the center of them, I see my twin brother standing ramrod straight. The bodies of fallen Jedi scatter the floor and I bend down to one. She's younger than I am, barely even a teenager. Her chest is impaled with the unmistakable cut of a lightsaber. I gently close her eyes with my hand and turn towards my brother. The men have vanished from where they were standing previously.

"Ben, what the kriffing hell is going on?" I ask him, confused and angry.

"Don't call me that!" he shouts at me as I flinch from the furious tone he used. "Ben is dead. Kylo Ren is who I am now." I raise my eyebrow.

"Doesn't look like you're dead now, does it. If you were, you wouldn't be talking to me right now."

"Char, just go. I don't want to hurt you." My eyes widen as I connect the dots. My twin, the one who was always there for me when I was sick or injured or down in the dumps, has turned to the dark side like our grandfather before us. I ignite my lightsaber and stand in a battle-ready position, sinking down into a crouch and extending my hand out towards him, lightsaber held over my head and pointed at him.

"I'm not going to give up. I'm not going to run," I say softly as I vainly attempt to try to turn Ben back. "Please just come with me; Mom and Dad want to see you." He starts to pace the cobblestone ground, growling in anger.

"I will not come with you. The Jedi Order is weak. I will learn a lot more from Snoke. Join me, and together we can rule the galaxy as brother and sister." I stare at him incredulously.

"I will never join you," I hiss at him, teeth gritted together in anger. I need to control my emotions; anger's not the Jedi way. I breathe in slowly and breathe out the same. I feel serenity and calmness wash over me as I prepare for battle with my other half. He made the first move, lunging at me and slashing his blue lightsaber at me in a vicious way that I had never expected. I barely deflect the stab, stumbling backwards a step from the raw force. I parry twice, both on the right, and jump over a slash aimed at my legs. Sabers dance between us in a crackling frenzy, neither giving an inch. Finally getting the upper hand, I extend my hand out towards Ben and Force push him backwards, causing him to fly through the air about ten feet. "I don't want to fight you, Ben," I plead with him, trying to convince him to stop this.

"MY NAME IS KYLO REN!!!!" he rages at me, lightsaber crackling in response to his fluctuating emotions.

"Yeah, and mine's Sheev Palpatine," I retort, sarcasm dripping from every syllable. Then, I feel an invisible hand contracting around my throat, lifting me in the air and choking me. Ben's hand is extended out towards me, fingers curling around something invisible. Is he choking me? No, he can't be. He's my brother, my twin!! "Ben..." I choke out, gasping for air.

"Let her go, Ben," I hear my uncle's voice command through the haze of lacking air. I feel the unseen hand release my neck. Collapsing to the ground, I cough and try to breathe again. I look up through my eyelashes and see my brother and uncle locked in a fierce lightsaber battle. I force myself up to my feet and reach my hand out, calling my lightsaber to me. I feel the cool metal in my hand as my fingers wrap around it, thumb on the ignition button. The turquoise shaft of light emerges from the hilt of my lightsaber, painting the stones and courtyard a soothing blue color. However, before I can do anything, my brother flicks his hand at me and I become immobile, somehow from the Force thing he did to me. I strain to move, but it's no use.

Luke POV:

I glance at the rigid form of my niece for a second and then return my gaze towards my nephew. "Ben-"

He interrupts me. "Don't call me by that name," he declares harshly.

"your mother and father wouldn't want you going down this path," I continue carefully as we circle each other. "Charlotte is already distraught from what you've done tonight. Look at her." He turns to his twin sister slowly. I watch him take in her panicked face and the finger-shaped bruises on her throat. The boy lets go of his sister but makes her faint instead as I reach out through the Force to both turn her lightsaber off and catch her before she hits the hard ground. As I turn around, I see that Ben had ran off into the distance, enhancing his speed with the Force.

I look around at the burning Temple, tears rolling down my cheeks. I gently pick Charlotte up and carry her down towards the hanger, finding a small ship that could bring us to Leia. Oh Leia, what is she going to say? I carefully set Charlotte down on the bed in the only bedroom and exit the room, but not after looking back at Charlotte's limp body with her dark brown hair pooling around her head like a halo. What am I going to do now?

Charlotte POV:

I wake up on what feels like a bed, but a harder bed than what I'm used to. I slowly stretch and sit up, glancing around the small room. Where am I? This isn't the Jedi Temple. Wait... where's Ben? Where's Uncle Luke? I jump out of bed, calling my lightsaber to me, and start frantically searching the place where I am. I look out the window and see the black of space filled with twinkling white stars. I feel a hand on my shoulder and I whip around, hands going up to defend myself until I see my uncle's face. I let out a sigh of relief and wrap him in a bear hug, his arms going around me and hugging me back. "Where are we going?" I whisper quietly into his shoulder.

"We're going to your parents' home," he replies. "Come on, you can pilot the ship." I grin happily and mischievously. I hurry into the cockpit and sink into the pilot's seat, Uncle Luke sitting in the copilot's. I stretch my fingers and hands, flicking a few switches and making sure the ship is stable.

"Where are we currently?" I ask Uncle Luke, who checks the nav-computer.

"We're coming up on Hosnian Prime now," Uncle Luke says. "Disengage hyperdrive now!" I pull the lever controlling the hyperdrive and we emerge into real space, Hosnian Prime appearing in the windshield. The com switches on, and I hear Admiral Ackbar's voice echoing through the cockpit.

"Unidentified space shuttle, this is Admiral Ackbar of the Republic fleet. Please identify yourself before landing." I speak into the comlink.

"Admiral Ackbar, this is Charlotte Solo and Luke Skywalker here to see my mother and father, if you would."

"Welcome back, Jedi Knight Solo and Master Skywalker." I'm a Jedi Knight in the New Jedi Order, well at least what's left of it. I turn the comlink off and feed power into the engines, bringing us into the planet's atmosphere. I'm in my element with this ship, as flying is literally in my blood. I steer the shuttle towards the landing platform, cutting the power to the engines and immediately putting the repulsorlifts to full power. I engage the landing gear and gently set the ship down. Standing up from the pilot's seat, I stretch and walk down the landing ramp along with my uncle, who follows me at a distance. I stand on my tiptoes and look around for my mother and father.

"LOTTIE!!!" I hear a female voice shout my nickname and I whip around, seeing my mother running up to me with my father a few steps behind her. My mom's arms wrap around me in a hug, my father coming up behind us and joining the group hug. We stay in this embrace for a few seconds and then Mom pushes me back a little so that she could make sure that I'm not hurt. Her eyes are immediately drawn to my throat, where purple fingermarks are wrapped around it. "What happened?" I shift awkwardly from foot to foot, not really wanting to say what happened. "Lottie..." she says frustratedly.

"BenusedtheForcetochokeme," I say quickly.

"What?" Dad says, confused. I inhale deeply, trying to muster the courage to tell my parents what my twin did to me.

"Ben used the Force to choke me," I whisper softly, staring at my hands. I hear Mom gasp and I look up hesitatingly. Dad's jaw is on the floor while Mom has tears pooling in her brown eyes that look so much like mine. "Mom, I'm fine. Uncle Luke got me out. The only thing I want to do right now is go to my room, get changed, and sleep."

"Of course," Mom says, arm wrapping around my shoulders and leading me through the mess of commanders, pilots, and soldiers. We walk all the way to my parents' house and the door slides open once Mom scans her palm. Almost dead on my feet, I push myself into my old room and take my dirty nightgown off, getting dressed in another nightgown similar to it. I collapse on the bed, not pulling up the sheets, and promptly fall asleep, exhausted.
