He stared at me blankly, looking a bit worried. "But Elle," he started,"you need a passport to get into England."

"I know that." I answered, "Maybe I do have my passport- somewhere. It might just need to be renewed or whatever."

"Well, then, let's not waste any time. Let's find it."

We rummaged through every drawer in my room, checked in closets, and searched high and low. But then it hit me."I know where it is!"

I crawled under my bed and pulled out an old shoebox. I dusted it off and then opened it to see what was inside. But of course, no sign of a passport anywhere. I figured my mom had it, though. So I wasn't very worried. Why would I even have it in the first place?

Even though what I wanted to find wasn't in there, I did find some of my old writings and drawings.

"Woah," Brian exclaimed, grabbing one of my pictures,"you drew this?"

"Yeah, but it's nothing special. That's from when I was about fourteen years old. I always hated the way it came out."

"Really? Well, I love it. Do you mind if I keep it?"

"Not at all."

As I searched through the mass of crumpled and torn papers, another thing caught Brian's eye.

"What's that?" He grabbed the paper again, but this time I didn't let him have it.

"Oh, it's nothing," I lied and bit my lip.

"C'mon, Elle. I can see right through you. I know it's something, and if you're hiding it, it must be an important something."

I looked up at the paper and then back up at him. He looked at me with his puppy-dog eyes. Dang it. I couldn't resist that.

I gave in and handed him the paper. He grinned a bit and started to read, but soon his smile faded away.

"Do you really believe this about yourself?" He asked, sounding very concerned.

"To be quite honest- yes. Yes I do."

"But why?"

"It's hard to explain. You don't know the things that go through my mind. It's kind of natural, I guess."

"Now, I know every girl is a little self-conscious, but you sounded a little more than that."

My eyes started to tear up. This was a very touchy subject for me. I've always tried so hard to hide this from people. But they've always ended up leaving me because of it.

"Elle," he placed his hand on my shoulder,"you are the most beautiful girl I've ever seen. You've got a perfect smile, brilliant blue eyes, and, too be quite honest, you've got one hell of a body."

I laughed a little. Things like that always helped me at the moment they were said. But they never stuck with me.

"You'd better promise me that you'll never think that way about yourself ever again."

"Ok..." I nodded slightly. But I knew I couldn't keep that promise. I just figured I would let him be happy in thinking that I was happy with myself.

----

Eventually my mother found my passport. She left it on the kitchen table along with a note.

Go on an adventure and live your life!

Love, mom

"Well, I've got it now. So, when are we leaving?" I asked Brian.

"Tomorrow, probably."

"I guess that sounds good."

"So, you think we could meet up with the guys for dinner tonight, over at the place we're staying?"

"Sure, sounds great."

----

We arrived at the house Brian was staying at with the rest of the band. It was huge, to say the least. The yard was newly manicured with gardens and saplings. The walkway leading up to the front door was grey cobblestone. Brian walked up and opened the door.

"Welcome to our 'house'," he said excitedly.

"Nice to see you again!" Freddie said running up to me and giving me a strong hug.

Roger and John walked up and hugged me, too. But they didn't say much. I guess they couldn't top Freddie's greeting.

"Dinner is ready if you guys want to eat," Roger told us, sounding eager to eat his meal.

We all agreed on eating now and sat down. It looked amazing and I didn't even know what it was. It tasted even better than it looked, too.

----

Dinner was over as quickly as it began.

"So lads," Freddie started, stretching and leaning back in his chair,"what shall we do next?"

Everyone looked at me.

"Hey Elle," John started,"since this is your last evening with us, why don't you decide?"

I looked over a Brian, but he looked away immediately.

"Brian," I began,"you didn't tell them yet?"

"Tell us what?" Roger asked.

"Um, no. I don't believe I have." Brian answered, and now all eyes were on him.

"Spit it out, Brian," Freddie demanded.

"I really didn't tell you guys?" Brian stalled.

"No," they all answered in unison.

"Well, Elle is um coming back to England with us."

"WHAT?" They all yelled out.

I sat there, not sure whether that was a,"cool, she's really coming with us!" or a,"are you serious? Why would you do that?" tone.

All eyes were on me once again. Freddie, John and Roger all huddled together and started to whisper. Occasionally they would look back at me and then turn back to continue talking.

Finally Freddie turned back to tell me what was happening.

"Elle, we all very much enjoy you being with us, right guys?"

They all nodded and agreed.

"So," he continued,"by unanimous consent, you are free to come with us to England."

A wave of relief went through me. I knew for sure, almost, that they'd let me join them. But still had my doubts even after they agreed.

----

Brian drove me home and as soon as I stepped inside, I rushed up to my room. I pulled out a large suitcase and started to pack.

"You want to help me pack?" I called down to Brian.

"sure."

He came up and stood by the doorway.

"Your mother told me not to come into your room..."

"Brian, this is different. I'm asking for your help with something, not getting intimate with you."

He walked over and picked up one of my undergarments.

"Are you sure? I mean, just look at what I'm holding."

I snatched it out of his hands, folded it, and placed it neatly inside with the rest of my clothes.

"You're so immature," I joked.

We finished, well, I finished packing fairly quickly despite the fact that Brian was playing with all my clothes and trying to put them on.

My mom walked in,"are you really going to leave your mother?" She smiled a bit.

I went over and gave her a hug and kissed her on the cheek,"if you don't want me to I can stay. I want to be there for my mom."

"No, you go ahead. I'm just saying goodbye now because I have to wake up really early tomorrow for work."

"Ok, then, goodbye, mom. I'll try to write as much as possible and I'm sure I'll visit a bit when Queen goes on their American tours."

"That's great. You sound so... Grown up..."

"that's what happens."

I could tell she was getting emotional so I went and gave her another long hug. As we pulled away, she asked,"so, how did Cassie react to this?"

I paused. I'd completely forgotten to tell her. What a great friend I am...

A/N:

Longer chapter. I felt like all of this needed to be together. But yeah. A big change. Yay :)
