Chapter Twelve

a/n: My mom stole all my keeper books to read (I had to read Twilight to show her how serious I was about loving Keeper and wanting her to read it) so sorry if I got anyone's name wrong or anything like that.

If you could smell like one thing for the rest of your life, what would you smell like?

I was listening to Hit the Quan while writing this. And I was dancing while writing it. I'm sorry for mistakes. I also watched a Superwoman and Selena Gomez collab on YouTube... and then started watching Superwoman and gosh I'm sorry I should be doing my French HW right now.

Freaking out because I just can't wait for Let the Wind Rise... and my mom officially agreed to pre-order Neverseen (eep)

This was supposed to be posted yesterday but then I started stalking Shannon Messenger's tumblr (something I do once every two months) to see if there's any news on Neverseen she posts on there so. . . Sorry?

IT'S SO SHORT I'M SORRY NEXT ONE WILL BE LONG AND I WILL EVEN START IT RIGHT NOW TO ENSURE IT'S POSTED BY THURSDAY OR FRIDAY. (matters if I failed my French test on questions or non... that no in French... I'm ranting I'm sorry CHAPTER STARTING NOW. xD)

"What do you mean, no?" Keefe asked, holding the object up.

"I mean no, as in I'm not ready," she told him, a frown on her face.

"Come on, it's not even that big of a deal."

"I can't. I'm still hurt over last one." Tears swelled in her eyes.

"It's just a book, Sophie." She glared at him, fury running through her veins. "Ow, ow, ow, ow, ow, ow, stop it, ow. I can feel your pain and mine from your inflicting, stop it, it hurts." He was gasping.

She stopped and instantly ran up and hugged him. "Ooh, I'm so sorry! Did it really hurt that bad?" She stared at him with worry.

He sighed, a shaky breath coming from his mouth. "It's just a book, I don't get why so much pain was inflicted."

She stared at him. "There is no such thing as just a book."

"Well, if you are so emotionally attached why won't you read the next book?" He frowned.

"Oh, I'll read it," she assured. "I just need another minute to go over the first one and cry."

"Cry?"

"You don't understand. . . " She tailed off, looking at him with a frown. "You never will."

"Um. . . " He frowned. "I'm just going to leave you to your books. . . I'll just go hang out with Fitz or something. I think Biana is better suited for dealing with this."

"No, we were going to hang out!" Sophie complained, the conversation over the book forgotten. "Edaline is making your favorite today!"

"Mallowmelt?"

"We have mallowmelt all the time Keefe, so she's making that stuff that we had at that council party last week to celebrate that councilor's ears turning pointy." She frowned. "I forget what it's called but you said it was the best thing ever."

"Oh!" He grinned, punching the air in excitement. "I've been meaning to beg Bronte for that recipe."

"It's in Edaline's recipe book."

"She has a recipe book?" Keefe rolled his eyes."That sounds so human."

"And what do you have against humans?" She raised an eyebrow.

"Nothing, I think they're amazing. I heard that elves who grow up with them end up being really beautiful."

"All elves are beautiful."

"Yeah, but there's only one in particular who's beautiful enough to catch my eyes. Her hair is really soft, and her eyes are so different from everyone else's and it's really refreshing. And she's a really good kisser." He grinned, and leaned down to peck her lips for a just a second.

Sophie rolled her eyes. "Stop sweet talking and let's go eat dinner."

___

"Don't you have a house?" Grady asked Keefe in a joking voice, walking into the room.

Keefe looked up from his spot on the couch, sitting upright while Sophie leaned on his side. His arm was wrapped around her shoulders and she had hers in her lap. "Nope."

Sophie laughed. "Well, he doesn't sleep here so I'm pretty sure he has a house."

Grady rolled his eyes. "Keep it that way." Then he walked out of the room, smirking.

"Oh my gosh!" Sophie shrieked, hiding her face in his side. "They always do that."

"What?" Keefe started playing with her hair.

"Act like we're doing something bad or will be doing something bad. It's horrible."

"They just understand I'm really good looking and tempting and are making sure you can control yourself."

Sophie pushed him off the couch.
