Chapter Nineteen
a/n: I don't really like me senior crush as much anymore. . . I don't know. He's still cool and cute but. . . Meh. His best friend is a dork and has a crush on my sister and it was his friend's birthday today so he brought cupcakes and gave one to my sister and said he'd give one to me but then was like "HA HA NOPE" so I had to steal half of my sister's cupcake.
Shannon Messenger answered one of my questions on her tumblr from a month ago so we're getting closer to her answering what a wedding is like. *yay* but she just told me no spoilers for the question and put a gif of a cat and a turtle because I love turtle and mentioned it in the ask somehow xD
Moving on, I'm wondering if I should have the proposal (Don't act surprised I said it's coming xD) in like. . . The last chapter and have it be like a huge cliffhanger until I post the second book (Which would be posted not long after on my second account) or if I should have it within the next five chapters. . . What to choose, what to choose. . .
Ooh! My English teacher 'taught' us all the different types of sentences and after she taught us complex-compound sentences (or something like that) she was all like, "Now you guys can write full, really good sentences!" and I was like, uh, I'm not in kindergarten. I don't go around saying 'I live in a house. My house is small." and everyone just wasn't feeling her class today.
NOT EDITED OR REREAD THROUGH (because I have to go clean my room so my mom will take me to go see Mockingjay tomorrow)
"I'm getting married."
"We've known that for a while now, Asha," Sophie said sarcastically while tugging on her bridesmaid dress.
"And you're going to be my sister," Biana says, brushing a strand of Ashla's hair. "I couldn't ask for anyone better."
"I can just feel the love flushing through me. . . " Sophie muttered under her breath just loud enough for them to here.
"Shut up, peanut gallery!" Biana shouted, throwing a hair clip at Sophie's face. She quickly stopped it with telekinesis.
"Hey, that could have hurt!" Sophie shouted, jaw dropped in mock surprise. "I'm gonna sick Keefe on you."
"I'll sick Dex on you!"
Sophie laughed. "Yeah, that'll scare me real good. I might get a little bruise on my finger."
"Would you guys shut up about your boyfriends and help me get ready to marry mine?" Ashla groaned. "You are acting like the bridesmaids from hell!"
"Hey, honey don't cry!" Both of them rushed to Ashla's side and Sophie brushed the tears from her face while Biana started to crush her hair once more. "We'll calm down. . . We're just a little mad at each other."
"Why are you guys fighting?" Ashla asked.
"I think it's stupid how she's been hanging out with Marella more than she's been hanging out with me, lately," Biana said, shrugging. "Simple."
"And I told her I've been hanging out with you more than anyone to help you with stuff for the wedding and it just so happens I took one hour to talk with Marella about meeting up with her and Jensi at the wedding," Sophie explained. "I haven't even seen Keefe since. . . I went with him to go get your present." She frowned. "That was last week. I'm going to go check on him, and all the other guys too."
"Tell Fitz I said hi," Ashla said, smiling nervously.
Sophie nodded and walked over to the room the guys were in. She knocked before going in. "Hey guys," she greeted, walking in.
"Hey," Fitz said, nodding once.
She walked over to where the three boys were and hugged Keefe before looking at the other two. "You okay?" Sophie asked, smiling when Keefe wrapped his arm around her waist.
"I think I'm getting married. . ." Fitz trailed off, eyes widening. "Holy crap!"
They all laughed at him. "Got yourself a looker, too," a voice came from behind them. "Hello, Sophie," Alden said, grinning.
"Alden! It's been so long," Sophie said, grinning.
He nodded. "Yes, we should catch up later." Then he turned to Fitz. "Nervous?"
Fitz nodded at his dad. "Yeah, kind of." He turned to Sophie. "Did you see her? Is she good."
"She's a wreck and I had to leave before she killed me and Biana," she stated honestly.
"What do you mean?" Alden asked, frowning.
"We were fighting over how we don't see each other as much and it just so happened that Ashla was trying to get ready and Biana was trying to brush her hair at that specific moment," Sophie started to explain. "Ashla started to yell at us, tears were shed, and I promised her I'd tell Fitz hi." She turned to him. "Ashla said hi, by the way."
The guys started to laugh. "You seriously pissed off the bride before the wedding? Are you stupid?" Dex rolled his eyes.
"Hey, your girlfriend was part of that too!" Keefe defended, hugging Sophie slightly.
She stuck her tongue out at him. "What's funny is when we brought you two into our argument is when Ashla turned into Bridezilla." She laughed. "Okay, well now that I know you're all good, I'm going to go back and help her get into her dress."
"She's still not in her dress? It starts in half an hour," Dex said, rolling his eyes.
"We've been working on getting her hair done and we wasted an entire two hours having girl talk about stuff guys shouldn't know." She nodded. "Should I tell anyone someone said hi?"
"Tell Biana I said you're being mean," Dex instructed, grinning jokingly.
"Okay, tell Biana you're breaking up with her, got it. . . " Sophie joked. "I'll tell her you said hi," she assured when his eyes widened.
"Tell Ashla I said hi back," Fitz said, smiling slightly.
"What about you?" Sophie asked, turning to Keefe.
He looked in thought. "Tell Ashla that I picked out the present from us and totally not you."
She laughed, whacking his chest before going up on her tip toes and kissing his lips for a second. "Bye guys," she said, waving.
___
"I'm not doing this."
"You can do it."
"Nope."
"Come on, it'll be fun!" Keefe grinned at Sophie while she glared. The two were looking at Ashla and Fitz, who were hugging and talking to a group of people.
"We're not going to embarrass Fitz, Keefe. Give the guy a break, it's his wedding day." She smiled longingly at the pair, taking in a deep breath. "At my wedding you're not going to embarrass me, right?"
"Well, no. I can set something up with Biana. Pretty sure it would be more Fitz embarrassing me." He shrugged.
"You just totally implied it would be you I'm marrying," she said with with a nervous laugh.
He smiled and nodded at her. "Well, not now. The lovers are coming our way," he said, nodding to Fitz and Ashla who were walking in their direction.
"Are you guys bored?" Ashla asked, frowning. "I'm bored."
"It's your wedding thingy!"
"And I'm bored, so what." She laughed. "I think we invited to many Vacker noble friends."
"Hey, you're a Vacker now. You've gotta get along with them," Fitz told her, poking her side.
"Nah, Ashla Vacker just isn't the same as Ashla Corrvel." She shook her head. "Guess I gotta get used to it."
"You two are so cute!" Sophie gushed, grinning widely. "You're both so. . . Ugh!"
"Says one of the halves in the Foster-Keefe club," Ashla said with a sigh, shaking her head mockingly.
"Yeah, I thought we were voted with the best relationship," Keefe said, looking down at her while rolling his eyes.
"Nah, it definitely goes to us," Biana said, dragging Dex behind her.
Everyone let out snorts. "You guys are the weirdest couple."
"No, that's Maruca and Valik. Me and him are at least good matches, and both of us are somewhat in the nobility." She shrugged. "So ha."
"Well Sophie is like. . . Sophie," Ashla said, shrugging. "I think she beats us all just by herself. Then there's Keefe who's like. . . The strongest Empath in like, forever."
"Yeah, agreed," Fitz said, nodding his head slightly. "Hey, I am the only person who can read the mind of the strongest telepath, so I get some credit, right?"
"You can't get in when I block you," Sophie teased.
"Yeah, but even when you're not blocking I'm the only one so. . . Ha."
"You still haven't told me the secret word," Sophie said, frowning.
He gave her a secretive smirk. "Not happening."
"Eh, worth a try." She looked at Biana. "So, you coming over my house tomorrow?"
She nodded. "Yeah."
"I thought you guys were fighting," Ashla said, jaw dropped.
"We made up a little while ago and made plans for tomorrow. Edaline said she'll help you move stuff in, right?" Sophie smiled.
They nodded. "Yeah, she's a sweetheart. I opened my present from her and it's amazing!" She held out the piece of jewelry Keefe had picked out.
"It's great that you like it. She was afraid that you wouldn't like anything she got and had me and Keefe help her pick something out. That's the one Keefe helped pick out. The one I helped her pick out is just going to be your present from us," Sophie explained.
Everyone looked at Keefe in surprise, and Sophie nudged him playfully while he glared at her. "That was supposed to be a secret," he hissed, narrowing his eyes.
She rolled her eyes. "Oh well. Baby."
He sighed, and stopped glaring, instead he decided to just frown.
"See, they're the cutest!" Ashla shouted, pointing.
The two turned to their friends and started laughing.
