within the next few days, the girls went to their classes as normal while the guys did the same. danbi and chenle saw each other many more times than they'd like to admit, and the rest of the boys teased him about it.

as yun left her final class of the day, she walked outside and immediately came into contact with a chest, nearly stumbling over her feet.

"oh—my bad," the voice said. she looked up and into the same eyes she gazed into the night of that party. although the name wasn't clicking, she felt her heart beat out of her chest at the familiar face.

"oh! you!" she exclaimed, the name yet to have popped into her mind.

the blonde haired boy smiled. "yeah, yun, right?"

fuck. he knows my name and i can't remember his.

"yes, yes, that's me. funny seeing you here." the girl cringed internally at her own sentence. funny seeing you here? does anyone even say that anymore?

"right? are you busy right now? i was just gonna go get coffee, or something, wanna chill for a bit?" he asked sweetly.

"uh," yun thought for a moment, having no plans but not really expecting to be asked to hang out right this second. but, fuck it. "yeah, i'm down."

it was weird enough that the two ended up in the same place at the same time, and haechan having been headed that way, seeing the pair interact and eventually walk away together. his lips puckered out in curiosity, intently watching them walk away together. i guess he could now say he's seen her interact with the male species.

jisung eventually caught up with the boy, nudging his shoulder to get his attention. "why'd you stop—goody two shoes?!"

the loud voice from the younger boy resulted in haechan immediately turning them around and covering his mouth with his hand. yun having heard the old nickname even from as far as she was from the two, turned her head while she walked but was only able to catch the back of their heads.

"she definitely fucking heard that," haechan cursed, rubbing his temple with with his pointer finger.

"oops..." jisung mumbled as the older boy began pulling him away by his arm.

when yun wasn't able to visibly see who shouted, so she turned her head back and looked to hyunjin, who was already looking at her in confusion.

"you okay?"

"yeah, just thought i heard my name. sorry."

she brushed off the thought until they made it to the cafe, hyunjin leading her to a table with two chairs, going up to order after she told him her order.

yun didn't usually go for coffee with people she hooked up with at parties. she was a high schooler partying with college students and knew she'd never see them again. she definitely wasn't considering the fact that she'd see this guy around campus after they... you know.

when their drinks were ready, he grabbed them and sat down, yun immediately thanking him for treating her. he didn't seem one bit phased that they were casually sitting and talking together after that night, but it was all yun was thinking about.

"so, what's your major?" he asked, gently blowing on the hot beverage in front of him.

"business. you?"

"art."

yun nodded, "you seem like an art major. also, i'm really sorry, but i can't remember your name for the life of me."

worried that the confession would have upset him, yun apologized for not having remembered his name. he thankfully just laughed it off.

"all good, we were both drunk. it's hyunjin. how are you liking ncit so far?"

hyunjin sat forward in his seat, leaning his elbows on the table to show his full attention was on her. yun didn't know why, but she found this endearing.

"it's good so far, yeah. classes are alright. how do you like it?"

"i like it a lot. it's my second year, actually." he smiled charmingly.

the two talked endlessly about anything, not able to run out of things to talk about for what felt like hours. people were coming in and out of the cafe, but they remained in the same spot even after their cups were empty.

yun was clutching her stomach from laughter, hyunjin enjoying her having found him so funny. neither of them realized how late it had gotten until yun glanced out the window next to her and saw a sunset forming in the sky.

"should we start getting back?" she asked, secretly hoping he'd decline so they could talk more.

it seemed like he caught onto it, because he smirked but knew they both should've been heading back. "i'll walk you to your room."

the pair got up and threw their cups out, then walking out of the place and to the dorms building. they talked even more until they reached her room when she turned around instead of opening the door.

"my roommate might be home but, we can chill, or something?" she asked, looking up at him. it may have been suggestive, and she may have been internally hoping her roommate wasn't home, but he didn't need to know that.

"of course, only for a bit though."

yun turned and unlocked the door to her dorm, allowing hyunjin to go inside before closing the door behind them.

danbis bed was empty, so yun instantly took as she wasn't home and hopefully wasn't coming back anytime soon. she took her shoes off and made her way to her bed, hyunjin following soon after.

the two of them sat facing each other, yun sitting crisscrossed and hyunjin having his legs dangling and his arm holding himself up. he stared at her as she brushed her hair out of her face before looking at him.

two confident people who never allowed themselves to get intimidated by eye contact, ended up making in a competition on who could hold it the longest. this eventually lead to... other things.
