the next few days of yuns winter break were spent the exact way she didn't want to be spending her free time. locked away at her room, still too angry to face her mother and avoiding her while living in the same house felt like a sport. the times it was simply impossible, yun couldn't help but shoot a glare as she watched her mother walk through their home, and she could surely feel the stare piercing through her but the woman couldn't even look at her own daughter.
she'd hardly gotten to see her own friends, not having much energy to do so anyways but jaemin had no issue visiting her every night. he could tell easily she was being drained from walking on eggshells in her own home, and insisted on keeping her company even when she said all was fine. of course, she was lying.
this night specifically they lied in her bed, clock ticking 2 am and honestly, they were both exhausted but didn't want to miss a moment together. yun was intoxicated by drowsiness she couldn't help the words slipping past her lips.
"i really like you." she said, voice low and raspy as she examined every feature of his under a dim light. her hand intertwined with his, while his free arm fell lazily over her waist.
"yeah?" he asked back, his deep voice vibrating through his chest under yuns body, "you promise?"
it was incredible how he managed to make her feel like a giggly little girl with a school crush, a smile creeping up to her lips as he felt her nod against his chest. she had never been so grateful he couldn't see her at this angle, as the heat brought to her cheeks insisted on a visible blush.
"i do. i appreciate you being patient with me."
"it's really nothing," he murmured, eyes closed and fighting sleep, "i like taking things slow with you, it's like savoring every little moment."
a yawn fell out of him, blending in with the end of his sentence as he released his hand from the girl on top of him to properly wrap both arms around her, pulling her even closer. a simple act that had her completely weak in the knees.
"so you like me?"
"mhm, a whole bunch."
"what if i was like, a rock? would you still like me?"
"yes. i'd keep you in my pocket at all times."
"what if i was a gummy worm?"
the boy hummed lightly, as if he was thinking hard. "i'd eat you."
an unexpected answer lead to a gasp from yun, picking her head up to see a mischievious little smirk across jaemins lips, his eyes fluttering open as he laughed at her reaction. "that's literally so mean."
"just kidding," he teased, lifting his hand to brush away the hairs that fell over her face. "you're so pretty."
his hand gazed over her cheek before it fell to her neck, thumb gently brushing over her skin and their eyes scanned each others faces as the tension grew thicker. his eyes flickered down to her lips while his tongue poked out to slide over his own.
"is this the part where we kiss?" she asked playfully, though she already knew the answer herself.
"yun, i've been wanting to kiss you," he chuckled, "it's all up to you now."
and it wasn't one-sided, at all. she just liked him so much she was so scared of messing things up by moving too fast. she never knew what 'the right time' was whenever her friends spoke about their first kisses, her own was sloppy and wrong and even though this wasn't it, it only felt right.
"kiss me."
the two words were enough for jaemin to not waste another second pulling her down and connecting their lips. though he was eager, he kept it sweet and gentle as he usually did when doing anything with her. it was the complete opposite of any kisses she was used to, and he made her feel wanted in a way that wasn't lustful, but more so they just desired each other in everyway possible.
after about a minute the two pulled away, pink tinted lips and eyes glistening with excitement. "so worth it." yun sighed.
jaemin chuckled lightly, flashing his perfect smile. "am i as good as you expected?"
"hm," the girl thought, "i don't know. kiss me again so i can be sure."
sunlight danced through the shades of her window, giving a warm tint and feeling to her room as she immediately felt around her bed for another presence once she gained consiousness. eyes still closed and hardly awake, the room wasn't nessecarily cold, just the fact that she was alone that morning caused her to shiver.
when she couldn't feel the boy she fell asleep next to the previous night, yuns eyebrows furrowed in a crease and she picked up her head to look around. her heavy eyelids fluttered open, taking a quick moment to adjust to the light before she was instantly searching for jaemin. he didn't plan to sleepover, as they knew her dad would be home the next day yet the absence of his presence had her sulking without even realizing it.
"yunyeong!"
she hardly had a chance to fully wake up when she heard her fathers voice from assuming, all the way downstairs. shortly after, a faint sound of their doorbell and she knew she was going to be asked to open the door. sparing the trouble of comfirming the request, the girl tied her hair up as quickly as she could and pulled her shirt further past her stomach, making sure she looked as put together as one can get so early in the morning before strutting downstairs.
a mindless yawn left her body, she honestly couldn't quite care less how she looked, she stopped caring years ago to uphold her parents reputation.
the girl had not a single clue who they'd be expecting, possibly a family member, or a family friend, but certainly not lee taeyong and jung jaehyun on the other side.
her low set, tired eyes shot open wide when they landed on the two taller boys in front of her, her heart suddenly pounding out of her chest but more so complete confusion on what business they had ringing her doorbell.
"the fuck?" the phrase genuinely couldn't be fought as her gaze flickered between them.
"hello to you too," taeyong greeted, "sleeping beauty."
ignoring his words, yun turned her head back to see her father approaching the three, and then it clicked, "you know it wouldn't kill you to invite our guests inside."
still, the youngers blank expression didn't change and she didn't say another word as she moved aside slowly to allow them in. jaehyun looked at her as he passed by, a confused look as if he was the one opening the door to two highly unexpected guests.
she watched them follow her dad through the hall, closing the front door back up without turning her head. her arms crossed over her chest skeptically as she made her way back away from the door.
yun knew her father always had people over for work, or back at the company but she completely never cared nor did she want to. it was mainly family members and friends she hadn't even seen in years and she couldn't fathom the fact that he trusted those boys enough to allow them in their home, even if previously learning that one of them worked for the older man at one point.
she quickly went to the kitchen to grab a glass of water the second they were out of sight, tapping her foot against the floor while watching the cup fill up slowly. or at least, it felt slow.
the girl had practically jumped out of her skin when she turned around to see jaehyun trailing in, not even minutes after she watched them walk away. "can i help you?" she asked, tone sounding more aggressive than she intented it to.
the taller held his hands up just to level with his shoulders in surrender. "your dad asked me to grab him a drink before we start."
yun inhaled a deep breath before turning and placing down her own glass to grab another one, exhaling a long sigh as she pulled it out and filled it up with water. "you guys are haunting me at this point."
jaehyun laughed, "wow, yeah, that's one way to put it. i just wanted to make some pocket money over break, and yong figured your dad would want some extra help."
"would've been nice to know before hand," the other inquired, turning and walking to hand the boy the glass.
"my bad, i didn't know you really wanted anything to do with me," he replied, eyes falling from her own to just below her chin. "curling iron? or something?"
"...what?"
"your neck."
confusion fell to pure horror in a matter of seconds as realization settled it, and yuns hand lifted to cover wherever the purple-ish bruise was formed against it. "uh, yeah. curling iron." her own shock and flat tone was clearly enough to know she was lying.
"you're obviously lying, but sure, i'll pretend that's not what it actually is." he grinned, entertained by such a small but effective thing.
"hell yeah you are," she threatened playfully, "we're friends now and i'm just an innocent lad. a goody two shoes. a good girl, even."
jaehyun hummed, still amused. "you amaze me, really. you know, i kind of always knew you weren't as innocent as you seemed."
"no you didn't. why?"
"nope, i did. you know what they say about people like you? they say that good girls are just bad girls that haven't been caught," he nodded, sure of his words, "and i stand by it."
"jaehyun, that's a five seconds of summer song."
"a what? what's that?"
