"who was that?" jaemin asked, chuckling when he heard a huff come from the girl sitting across from him as she shoved her phone back into her pocket.

the two sat in a diner just minutes off campus, sipping milkshakes as they awaited their main dish to arrive. yuns head perked up. "oh, haechan."

jaemin hummed and nodded. "is he free? we should've asked him to tag along."

yun nodded this time, fighting to hold back laughter as she remembered herself rejecting hanging out with him. "we can bring him something back, maybe. if he stops being annoying."

the boy almost spat out his shake, laughing at the response with confused eyes. "oh, you haven't gotten used to to his clinginess yet?" he teased.

"nope, but it's good to know what i'm not alone."

"nah, he's just like that. it's in his nature," he shrugged, as if he himself was definitely used to it by now. "gotta love him for it."

jaemin watched intently as her eyes fell down to the table, lips puckered on her straw and upturning slightly as if she was pondering deeply about something. "are you into him?"

"hm?" the questioned hadn't fully process, too deep in her thoughts. "who? haechan?"

the boy nodded quickly, scanning every inch of her face for whatever reaction was to follow about the question. he could see easily how hesitant she was, eyes everywhere but his. she didn't even know herself.

"i honestly... don't know. i've never truly liked anyone so i really can't tell what's love and what's lust." why she was being way too honest with jaemin, she didn't know either. usually she'd immediately shut down and say 'no,' even if it wasn't true, but his stare made it near impossible to do that.

"stop looking at me like that, weirdo," she said, words just slipping off of her tongue. "psych major trying to read me, huh? you're not slick."

laughter erupted from the boy again as he shrugged. "i can't help it. you're too easy to read."

"yeah? what do you read about me?"

"it's not fun if i tell you," he huffed dramatically, playfully waving his hand off to dismiss the conversation.

yun hummed, clearly not convinced. "can you read that i think i'm tired of being single?"

"i mean, you're really cute, probably not that hard to get a date."

"yeah sure, if everyone didn't just see as a raging slut and now the girl who fights people at parties for no reason." the shorter propped her elbows up onto the table with her sarcastic tone.

"not everyone sees you like that," he replied, mocking her actions, "me and the guys don't, so i promise you there's other guys who don't either."

"if you wanna date me, just say so."

jaemin laughed again, approximately the hundredth time since they've been out. "exactly! aren't you just so charming?"
