the girl smiled at her phone before slipping it in her back pocket and going back to taking things out of a suitcase. the house was empty, as the new neos had taken over the positions of the old ones and the current ones still had their jobs to do.

she'd never find herself so excited to start her second year of college but it felt like a fresh start, moving from the dorms to the house and not using college as an escapism from her controlling parents. things were finally starting to look up and she was for once looking forward to the future.

an hour had passed before renjun arrived, ringing the doorbell, forcing yun to stand up from her position on the floor, tapping away at her phone to jog downstairs. she didn't know for sure it was renjun but was lucky that it was when she swung the door open, barely taking a second to look him in the eye before throwing her arms around him.

"oh, okay," he grunted in surprise at the pressure of her squeezing tightly, "how sweet of you, even though we saw each other yesterday."

ignoring him, yun pulled away but kept her hand locked around his wrist to pull him into her new room. "look at this room... so much better than those shitty dorms."

it was only an average sized room but still, better than those shitty dorms, and yun honestly found the dorms a bit claustrophobic at times. it wasn't that much of an upgrade but so much easier to get comfortable in. renjun took a minute to admire the few things she managed to set up while waiting his arrival, noticing a polaroid picture of the two stuck to her mirror and smiled.

"yeah, this is a lot better than the dorms. i'll probably be here more than my own house, actually, keep your bed warm while you're in class," he teased, but the idea didn't sound bad at all to either of them.

"it's so nice, and so much more room
and no sounds of danbi typing away at her laptop at three in the morning. love her to death but... workaholic," the other replied, sighing in relief before plopping down on her bed. "please unpack some stuff for me, i'm so tired."

renjun was already on his way to an opened suitcase, assuming yun started on that one after multiple and gave up and he had no problem finishing up. "take a nap, lover."

the girl hummed tiredly and got comfortable, rolling onto her side and letting her eyes shut closed and soon enough she was in a somewhat deep sleep  that only lasted about 30 minutes until others arrived. renjun managed to get a lot more done than he expecting, wanting her to have as little as possible to unpack herself.

"we're home!" a voice echoed through the home, one that was easily recognizable as danbis. still dazed from her nap but wanting to see her friend, yun shot up with low eyelids and ran downstairs, a laughing renjun following behind.

"shit, this place is huge," danbi muttered once she got a good look before her eyes trailed to yuns. "hi, babe."

after a short greeting, the four conversed in small talk before yun lead the couple to some empty rooms. "taeyong said that some people would have to share, so i assume you two and ren and jeno want to share rooms. it would've been renjun and i, but you know."

although danbi and chenle had never lived together, they'd spent multiple weekends at each others houses, sometimes even going into the weekdays, sharing a room wasn't new. they didn't hesitate much before agreeing, pulling their luggage into their new room.

"i think she's indirectly trying to get me to move out," said renjun, earning a laugh from danbi.

"nope... but if you ever change your mind, i won't say no," the girl replied as she twirled her fingers around his and leaned into his shoulder. "let's leave these two to settle in."

"are you hungry?" the boy asked when they walked away, placing a lingering kiss on her temple.

once back in her room, yun again plopping face first onto her bed, that she'd yet to put anything other than a sheet on. "i could eat."

renjun chuckled, "you could eat but you look like you're not getting up from this bed anytime soon." before sitting down next to her and gently stroking her hair. silence engulfed the air between them snd yun could've almost fell into another deep sleep if it weren't for what he said next.

"you know i never officially asked you to be my girlfriend?"

yuns eyes opened. of course she knew, and she probably would've cared of it weren't for the lingering habit of not
putting a label on things. she just didn't care much about a label with renjun, at least not until after he mentioned it. now the thought of officially being his girlfriend sounded much better than not.

"nope, never noticed," she teased, voice slightly muffled from her cheek lazily smushed against the mattress.

"sure you haven't," he pinched her side playfully, earning a choked laugh from her. "you just kiss and cuddle me platonically."

"maybe i do."

"okay, so, hypothetically, if i said be my girlfriend, you'd say no? completely hypocritical."

her heart began to beat out of her chest, stomach erupting in butterflies as a smile tugged at her lips. they both knew nothing really would have changed if he asked the question, they already called each other boyfriend and girlfriend, but something about officially being his had yun grinning from ear to ear.

renjun noticed instantly, "whoa, that's not a very platonic smile."

she sat up finally and brushed her hair away from her face, their noses almost touching from such close proximity. "you don't need me to say anything, stop trying to get me to boost your ego."

"i'm not," he sing-songed, pressing a peck to her pursed lips, "can we be boyfriend and girlfriend? officially?"

she could've continued on with her little jokes, but the words that slipped off his lips had her nervous as if they were going on a first date, or like she was seeing him for the first time again after confessing to each other. his eyes flicker back and forth between her right and left one, his bottom lip stuck between his teeth as he awaited her answer.

she knew her answer. she would have known her answer the day they confessed, she just loved seeing renjuns nervous face as if she could ever reject him. "yes, we are officially boyfriend and girlfriend. duh."

a sigh of relief fell through his lips and yun laughed. "did you actually think i was gonna say no?"

"i don't even know, you scared me for a sec. i'm your boyfriend!"

"yeah! even though i was already calling you my boyfriend. you were mine forever, just didn't know it yet."

"other way around."

"oh, right. you've been in love with me from the start."

"hmm, not from the start, but confidence is cute on you."

"no? interesting. tom-ay-to, tom-ah-to. i think i'm right."

"you always think you're right. it's just, this time, you're not!"

"damn.. i know how to settle this. let's just make amends and kiss."

renjun bust into laughter at both the sudden offer and her expression that displayed she was entirely serious, or so she acted as if she was. she never failed to amaze him. "alright, bring it in."

her heart jumped when he placed his hand on the side of her neck, thumb brushing along her cheek when she was only teasing again. he knew that, most likely, and it was his way of teasing her back by taking her words literally. his lips pressed against hers finally and her wide eyes shut closed, a synced sigh coming from both of them.

her body became mush instantly and she felt herself practically melting into his touch, but somehow managed the strength to push further into the kiss and seemed to have surprised him, but quickly reciprocated the motions. their stomachs were twisting into knots of excitement but still innocently letting out grins and giggles into the kiss, the moment turning more sensual by the minute.

then yun remembered they certainly weren't the only people in the house, her bedroom door was wide open, and she had no idea if renjun was even ready to go any further than what they were doing.

she pulled away, clearing her throat. "danbi and chenle... down the hall..."

renjun laughed again before looking at her as if she'd said the craziest thing ever. "yun... i didn't know you were into that—"

"nope. no. shut up," she interrupted, louder fits of laughter erupting from the boy, "just making sure you knew."

"oh i knew. i can't even believe you were thinking like that."

the girl groaned and shoved his arm with little strength, getting ready to lie back down when muffled voices sounded through her door frame. it sounded like more than chenle and danbi, and yun assumed more people had arrived, so she didn't waste another second dragging herself off her bed and downstairs.

ren stood in the main entrance way, talking to danbi happily and jungwoo and jaehyun stood behind, perhaps they'd showed up at the same time. the steps creaked beneath her as she walked down the stairs, earning everyones attention.

"well, look who it is," jungwoo teased.

"i was the first one here, i should be saying that to you." the girl returned before turning her attention to ren, who for once was without jeno.

the group conversed amongst each other naturally, even the two original neos who didn't shy away, it seemed the friends were finally warming up to them. jisung was next to arrive, trudging in with nothing but his phone in his back pocket and joked how his back was completely stable from not having to carry any luggage, before chenle protested that he was clearly too lazy to help anyone move any boxes.

jaemin and mark came next, and to yuns surprised, jaemin looked happier than ever to be moving into the neo house. he finally wasn't the debby downer of the group, or completely absent all together, and the sight made yun smile to herself. everything was normal.

haechan came last, who was usually never late but blabbered on about getting carried away while hanging out with his tinder date who was slowly but surely becoming a bigger title in his life. "where's my room?" being the first question to ask.

"hello to you too," renjun mumbled when haechan walked past everyone, finding the way to his new room.

"i'm exhausted, i started working out to better my stamina for dance, or some shit," he chattered all the way down the hall until he couldn't be heard anymore and was basically talking to himself.

the group migrated to the living room area, comfortably taking in each other company until taeyong came through the door. all eyes turned his way and he looked a bit frantic from his busy job, but managed to give a smile at all the faces in front of him. "hey guys."

"is everything okay so far, are you getting settled in?"

yun buried her head further into renjuns shoulder while the group immediately reassured taeyong that everything was as perfect as it could be. a yawn fell past her lips, fighting her eyelids open from being up too late from excitement and yet she probably would go another sleepless night. it was unbelievable to her that she was actually excited to start school again.

haechan trudged back down the stairs after a cat nap, everyone saying hello before he muttered out his own greeting, and taeyong continued. "okay! great, now that everyone's here i should discuss the house rules."

"letting you know in advance, these aren't my rules, they're ncit's, so don't be mad at me," he began, "we're not supposed to smoke in the house, no parties on weekdays, no more than 20 people living here at a time."

"no smoking?! i'm gonna go crazy." ren dramatically expressed.

"as long as you can keep it on the downlow... it's okay. just don't let it get excessive and i don't want the house to smell like weed," taeyoung retaliated, "since this house is under the schools name, we unfortunately are not excluded from dorm inspections."

everyone nodded, showing they understand. "lastly, i'm not technically in charge here anymore since last year was my last year, so... i wish you all a good year. i'll still be a call away if you have any questions, and i'll come visit of course, but i've got to hand the leader title over to jaehyun now."

jaehyun must have also been hearing that for the first time, his brows shooting up in surprise but he didn't protest. "oh, okay."

"before you go," yun rose her hand to talk, "we want to say thank you for taking us under your wing and giving us this great opportunity. super hashtag grateful."

a genuine thanks gave taeyong a genuine smile, and the rest hadn't gotten to say thank you to the neos and were glad yun took one for the team to express how they were all feeling.

the eldest thanked them for taking on the offer before he was gone again to go back to his big boy job, not the one he had while being a neo. "well... shots! to celebrate!" haechan announced.

"do y'all ever go, like, a day without drinking?" jungwoo questioned, but standing up and getting ready to lead them to the liquor cabinet.

"of course we do, this is a special occasion," definitely partially a lie but no, they wouldn't pass up a chance to drink.

jungwoo picked up the first vodka bottle he saw, and they had many different options which wasn't much of a surprise considering they had so many parties, and the cabinet would come in handy for them later on. he managed to find just enough shot glasses for each of them, even him and jaehyun, who was hesitant at first but thought, why the hell not?

"it's literally 1 in the afternoon," yun chuckled to herself, but held her glass up for jungwoo to pour.

"alright," he sighed once the final shot glass was full, "someone make a toast."

"here's to the new fratboys!" mark exclaimed.

"we're not a frat."

"here's to the new un-fratboys!"

"dumbass," haechan muttered, following everyone else in downing the vodka until everyone was squeezing their faces together in discuss.

yun seemed to have forgotten the feeling of alcohol rushing down her throat while she was away, not even able to finish one shot, renjun looked at her. "how're you feeling?"

"shit is gross, but the atmosphere is great. i feel great," and she did, finally. "i'm so happy."

"another!" jisung shouted, reaching out for the bottle just for it to be taken away by jaehyun.

"sorry, no more."

besides the groan from jisung, everyone was happy and content. there was laughter in the air and they conversed like they hadn't spent a single day apart in years. everyone was nervous for their new college lives but soon became reassured when they realized they'd have each other the whole way up, and there was nothing to worry about.

yun quickly learned that there's no such thing as a good girl, she was just an imperfect human being getting through life, and it worked out in the end. she genuinely couldn't have been happier than she was in that very moment.

firstly i want to say that considering i gave yun too many options (LMFAOOO) i am very sorry if you arent pleased with the ending so pls dont be too mad at me, at the end of the day it is my book and i personally felt there was too much drama surrounding the main ships and i wanted to have a happy ending ! feelings change when you start to love yourself and its more realistic to me that yun didnt feel the exact same way she did four months ago :))
