ren wasn't expecting to wanting to punch anyone tonight, as much as she begun to dislike kyong after disrespecting her best friend, but she could not believe what she'd read right then and there.
"this isn't happening," she whispered to herself, looking up from her phone when she stopped midway walking up the stairs. just in time to end up face to face with kyong.
"hey," she greeted, fully unknowing of how ren thought of her just then.
the other slipped her phone into her back pocket, crossing her arms. "you're unbelievable, kyong."
"excuse me?"
"how so you do that to someone who was your friend? what did she even do to you?"
kyongs face fell when she realized, but it didn't last long as she scoffed right after. "i wasn't planning on it. but i don't owe her anything, we're not friends anymore. we were alone and things just got a little heated. what does it matter? she did the same thing to him, anyways."
"two wrongs don't make a right, are you fucking serious? you know, i've been tolerating you ever since i found out all the things you said to yun because i didn't wanna waste my energy on you, but i think it's time someone told you how much of a fucking bitch you are, truly."
the girl looked taken aback from such a statement, thinking she had won for a split second but couldn't handle being called names. "good. like i really care. you might as well keep it to yourself, because i don't."
rens jaw clenched in anger, allowing kyong to walk past her because she didn't want to make a scene. kyong was the one that'd have to live with the guilt and that was enough for ren.
now that she knew yun wasn't at the party anymore, she turned and walked back down the steps to where jeno was waiting. "you find her?"
she shook her head, "she's at home. i'll tell you everything later." all being said while walking past him with her full cup in hand, jeno trailing behind confused at her deadpanned tone.
he thought nothing when she approached jaemin, who seemed to also still be looking for yun, just thinking ren was gonna tell him she'd went home and to stop searching. no one thought anything unusual, so it was most certainly a surprise when ren took a bold move and dumped her drink over jaemins head.
gasps fell all around from whoever was surrounding them and had a clear sight on what was happening, even haechan, who ran into jaemin and could only be fully confused on why ren would ever do that.
the boy drenched in liquor turned around, getting ready to curse out whoever had just done that to him, but stopped himself when he saw ren and she beat him to it. "don't look for yun, she went home. thanks to you and your little girlfriend."
kyong came pushing through the second ren grabbed jenos hand and turned to leave, her eyebrows creased and lips parted in anger. "what the fuck, ren? this is so unnecessary?"
"you know what's unnecessary? you accusing someone else of purposely hurting people and then you do shit like this. you're lucky this wasn't you, bitch. i would do so much worse to you if i could."
"like what? hit me? oh please," kyong laughed, but not like it was funny, more like she highly doubted ren implying she'd ever do something to her. "yeah right. keep defending your hoe of a best friend."
remember when i said ren didn't want to cause a scene? well, she already did with the stunt on jaemin, and so she thought she'd just tie the knot by hitting kyong in the cheek with a closed fist, because there really couldn't have been more of a scene than there was.
the gasps were even louder this time, and people were pulling out their phones to record. jenos eyes widened at the sight, and he knew this would be the last of her college life if the school got videos of her beating up a helpless girl, so before ren could get in anymore hits, he wrapped his strong arms around her body and dragged her away.
"you'll thank me for this," he said, ignoring the fight she was putting on to get out of his arms.
"let me go," she struggled, "she deserves this."
"i agree," he had no idea why she deserved it, but to him, whatever she says goes, "but you've already gotten in trouble once, you can't be caught fighting someone."
then she finally stopped struggling once they'd made it outside, so he let her go. meanwhile on the inside where everyone was still processing what they'd just seen, confused, but not complaining because a good party always ended in a good fight.
