chapter 4 | Private lesson

"Miss Han..." one of my students catches my attention, so I look up at him and let my hands on my handbag, "Yes, Jungeun?"

"Uhm...do you have time right now or...am I annoying you...?" his behavior shows a different side of him, some grief exuding through his features. "I have all the time you need, Jungeun. What is happening?"

"Uhm..." he brings his hand up to his head, scratching his ear and showing a lot of nervousness. Since he seems way too hesitant to let it out, I decide to initiate it with a few questions. "What is it about? Do you want to ask me something?" I don't talk about his grades since he's the best in every subject, but he shakes his head, "I...Nevermind...I need to go and join my brother to eat..." he steps aside to cut the conversation short, but I call him back, "Wait, you can talk to me, Jungeun. Is there a problem?"

"No, I'm sorry about this," he leaves the room without explaining anything to me. That is odd of him, he's usually joyful but not like that. Since I cannot ask more and be insistent, I let this go for now and grab my bag to leave the room with my keys in my hand in order to lock the door and walk through the hallways.

I have to join the professors' room and correct the tests that were done but also eat lunch to not be hungry for my next lesson, so I'm going to be in a hurry as always.

"Miss Han!" a voice I know very well reverberates through the hallways, but I don't stop myself, I take a look at that student while continuing. "What is it, Jungkook?" I smile at the boy running towards me while gripping the straps of his bag. "I just...I wanted to wish you a good break..." his big eyes sparkle like two marbles to never change the habit, but I laugh quietly. "Wish me a good break? Then thank you, Jungkook. I hope you'll have a great break too and eat well."

"I will," he bites his lips but stays by my side to walk down the stairs, "I was wondering though....uhm...are you going to celebrate your birthday all alone...?" his shy side resurfaces now that he is alone with me.

"Well, yes," I tell him the truth without any shame but walk down the second staircase. "Oh...but...isn't this a bit sad...? Don't you want like...someone with you...?" his softly cares for me, but I smile and shake my head. "No, it's all right. I usually spend it with my parents, but they're still in another country, so I'm used to being alone now."

"Hm..." he doesn't react that much. He knows that my mother knows his, however, he never dares to mention it, even though I know his mother well, maybe he must be aware of the fact I and my mother are on bad terms. "Anyway, I need to go and eat, so see you later," I put an end to this little conversation but he grins and nods before walking out of the building.

I hurry to get inside the room already filled with my colleagues and sit down at the table. I drop my bag down on my lap once I'm down on my chair and first take the box of chocolates out to put it on the table and then make my binder join it.

'JUNGKOOK'S P.O.V'

Once I have my stepbrother in sight, I run towards him and slap the back of his head, "Take that, little brat," I scoff but feel his fist crashing into my abdomen, "Stop annoying me..." he sends me a glare but acts differently. I know that little boy so much that it's obvious to me whenever he doesn't feel good.

"What's with this face? Are you mad at me?" I keep my eyes fixed on him while walking by his side to reach a restaurant. "No," he answers coldly. "Did you fail a test? Or did Miss Han tell you something?"

"No...stop asking questions, I don't like to talk when I'm hungry," his rudeness never stop to throw his annoyance at me, but I don't insist yet. I'm going to do it gradually.

I sigh but head to the Subway with him to enter the place and keep quiet while ordering our food. I look at him to check what is wrong with him all suddenly but notice in his body language and behavior, that something is not right. I wait for our sandwiches to be given then get to a table with him.

I sit down on a chair and remove the wrapping from my sandwich. "Did someone bother you at school? I know you're not feeling good, and I hate the fact you're not saying anything."

"I'm just hungry, and you're a piece of shit for eating my cereals this morning," he reacts madly but shoves his food in his mouth to eat with anger. "Come on, stop it already! I'll buy you a new box and never eat them again...jeez..." I roll my eyes. I chew on my food to let him breathe his rage out and calm down while feeding his hungry stomach of teenager.

"How did the lesson with Miss Han go? Did she say some things about me?" I smile, mentioning the woman I love so much. He raises his eyebrows but glances up at me with a look full of disdain, "Why the hell would she talk about you? She had her favorite student in front of her."

I sneer while masticating but try not to punch him. He knows I like her, but he enjoys this type of tease. "What? You don't like the truth?" he regains some confidence and smirks at me, but I lick my lips and look down, "You're lucky we're not home, or else I would have kicked your ass."

"Yeah sure," he laughs as if I wasn't serious. "She was hot today though, I liked that dress—" my fist ending in his shoulder brutally cuts his sentence short. "You're a kid. Don't even dare talk about her that way."

He has fun pissing me off because of my jealousy but eats at the same time, looking like a pig with his mouth full. "And you're eighteen but still drool over a woman like a horny teenager."

"Shut up, that's just called love and attraction. You don't know what this is," I attempt to defend myself, facing this kid who always manages to get on my nerves easily. "Love is a big word, you don't know her personally, so how can you be in love—"

"Shut your mouth," I look daggers at him, "Love is a big word, but I can use it because I know what I feel in my heart, all right?"

"Are you not mistaking this for obsession?" he states with no doubt as if he could see my mind through my eyes. I do admit that there might be some obsession into this, but I've never felt that way for someone before. An obsession is unhealthy, but in this case, I know my limits. I don't follow her everywhere. I don't stalk her. I don't try to get to know what she's doing every minute or that type of thing, so I know I'm not doing anything bad, I'm just infatuated.

"I heard you the other day..." his voice lowers as if he was about to let something bad out, but my heart rushes at the sound of this. I'm terrified now that I feel like I know what he means by this. "What are you talking about?"

He swallows but smirks at me, staring and not looking away, "My room is next to yours, and I was not sleeping, you shitty head. I fucking had to plug my earphones in to not hear that disgusting voice of yours again."

My entire body burns on my spot, this humiliation taking me aback. I cannot believe he heard me. "Next time you moan Miss Han's name, I record you. Got it?" this little brat threatens me as if I was younger than him, but I clench my jaw and look down. "I don't know what you're talking about."

"Shut the fuck up, you know what I'm talking about," he puts his sandwich in his mouth but shows no fluster while I'm sweating and dying in my shame. This must be a nightmare.

"Whatever..." I clear my throat but hate him for doing this, "Eat your food before I choke you with it."

He laughs like an idiot but does as told. He always likes to embarrass me.

3:15 pm.

[ be careful when you take the bus, I'm gonna have a private lesson with Miss Han😘 >

< what?! You're all alone with her?! ]

[ oh...I didn't tell you about that?😏 >

< I hope she leaves you high and dry. Just for your confidence to be gone ]

[ she won't because I'm her favorite boy while you are her favorite student and let me tell you there's a big difference >

< Haha let me laugh please. Now leave me alone, I want to listen to some music while walking ]

[ I told you not to, this is dangerous and you could not hear a car if its close to you >

< 🤟 ]

I huff but lock my phone. He knows how much I can be worried about him even if I act like I don't care. I always hate to know he's outside, listening to music and not paying attention to anything but the song he has in his ears. This little brat will never listen to me, for god's sake.

"Here I am, Jungkook," the sweet voice of my favorite woman changes my mood and makes me whirl around to catch sight of her. I smile at her rushing towards me to reach the door out and open it. I bite my lips as she's sliding the door to the right, and she then steps aside to let me in first.

I'm so ready for this lesson that I can't wait.

I walk up to the desk facing hers and sit down, putting my bag down on the floor and watching her do so. I take my books and pencil case out and place it on the flat surface to wait for her to be ready, seeing her laptop touching the desk and then being joined by her other stuff.

"How are you feeling?" she smiles but speaks to not let the silence remain. I send her back the same expression but lick my lips, "Good, what about you?"

"Good as well," she tucks some strands of hair behind her ear but sits down. "So, what are your questions?" she opens her device but hangs her jacket on the back of her chair. "Uhm..." I clear my throat but look down at my notebook to open it. I totally forgot my questions, I was way too dived in my thoughts to get out of them.

"That was about today's lesson..." I turn the pages to find the good one but hear her still breathing a bit heavily after running to be on time. I shouldn't be affected by it, but I am, severely. Why does this sound so good to my ears?

"Which point?" she asks as I was remaining silent, but I read my notes, "It was about the conjugation. I find it extremely hard..."

"Ok, is it for every verb or just some in particular?" she grabs her glasses to put them on but still gazes at me. "Every verb..." I tell her the truth, even though I know this is going to be difficult for her too, but she acquiesces and focuses on her laptop, "We're going to learn that part together but the most important is to study. Without studying, you cannot figure out which word is used for the right verb. All right?" she smiles at me without any warning, but I nod timidly.

"Perfect, let's first start with 'avoir'," she picks the verb herself but rises, bringing her laptop with her to come closer but send a wave of heat through my body. As soon as she sits down next to me, my legs start to bounce nervously. Each breath in makes my body shiver with excitement at the scent of her fragrance.

No way, my hiccup is back. I have a serious problem, I'm not kidding.

"Are you ready to write everything down?" she turns her laptop more in her direction as if she didn't want me to see the screen of it, but I grab hold of my pen, turn a page of my notebook, and show her she can begin.

"Don't you know just one word?" she doesn't do as I thought she would, "Have you really forgotten everything I said or mixed it up?"

"Well..." I scratch the tip of my nose but bring my hand down to my neck, cupping the side of it and peeking at her often, "I remember that people say 'J'ai', 'Tu as', 'Il a', then...I'm not sure..."

"Oh, that's already good," she smiles but types on her keyboard, "You can still write it down even if you remember it, make sure to do it properly just so when you read it again to study, this will be easier and more comfortable for you."

"All right," I listen carefully and use a ruler to do as told. I can feel her eyes on me, this is pretty intense for my weak heart. I mean, my heart isn't weak on a daily basis, but it is once she's around. "Good," she says as soon as I'm done, "After that, it is 'nous', don't you remember how we conjugate that verb for that pronoun?"

I think a bit more to find the answer, trying to come back to that moment when she was standing before the whiteboard in her tight dress, writing and teaching us. I bite onto the top of my pen, but a hiccup goes out of me, and I look at her, "Is it...'avons'...?"

"Yes, it is," she shows some happiness as if it was amazing, so I grin but put the word on my sheet of paper. "If you remember the 'nous', what about 'vous'?"

"Vous avez?" my brain reminds me of the information that was given while I was contemplating her but focusing on the lesson as much as I could. "That's perfect," she answers, "Then there is the last pronoun."

"It was..." I press the pen against my bottom lip, making sure to not let a mistake out. "I—Ils...?" I say with doubt, "Ils ont?"

"Yes," her smile doesn't fade away, making it hard for me to glance down at my work when I have her so close to me. "I thought you couldn't remember but I see it easily comes back to mind."

"Hm..." I toy with my pen between my lips, before focusing on my work again and not her, "And what about the groups of verbs...? Does that have something to do with their conjugation?" I end my words to be able to look at her but catch her fixing one of the straps of her bra under her dress. "No, it doesn't have anything to do with their conjugation but their ending."

"And what are the three groups?" I lick my lips but move back on my chair to peek down at her breasts. "Let's make every step one by one," she smiles but looks at me, forcing me to gaze up into her eyes. "All right..." I agree with her but she suddenly rises, "I'm going to write the verbs on the whiteboard and I want you to follow me, all right?" she walks up to it and grabs a black marker, "Can you come here and do it with me?"

"Yes," I answer without thinking twice and rise from my chair to head up towards her. "Here," she writes on the left part of the whiteboard, starting with 'Group 1' to then do it on the middle part for the 'Group 2', and 'Group 3' on the right part. "I'm going to write each verb in their group and I'll ask you to know why they're in it. Okay?" she smiles at me, but I tuck my hands in the pockets of my trousers nervously, feeling overwhelmed with her in front of me.

"All right, let's start with the most important verb, 'être'," she goes to the right to include it in the third group, so I follow her. One the verb is on the board, she writes the pronounces one by one, "Do you remember the conjugation of this one?" she asks while finishing, my eyes not leaving her face. "Yeah— I mean...no..."

Her eyes meet mine without any warning but shake my heart up, "Yes or no?" she giggles, but I smile like a dumbass, "I meant no..." I hiccup in front of her.

Each time she hears it, either she giggles quietly, or she smiles.

"All right," she nods but hands me the marker she just used. I grab it and step forth to get closer to her and the whiteboard. "Let's start with the 'Je'," she stretches her arm out and presses her finger on the flat surface, "If I try to refresh your mind, don't you remember?" she tries to put the information back into my head, but I bite my lips, looking at her but noticing her eyes landing on them.

I smirk internally but focus on the exercises. "Je suis?" I let out while recalling the lesson of earlier. "Yes, perfect," she answers me so I step forward and write it. "What about 'Tu'?"

"Tu es?" I continue in my successful way, and she acquiesces to make me understand this is good. Then, I finish with the other pronouns without making any mistakes. "Perfect, Jungkook," she smiles at me and gets me all proud. "Now, let's conjugate the verb 'Aller'," she steps away, so I move back to let her pass and walk along her path.

4:05 pm.

I put my pencil case in my bag now that the lesson is over and close the zipper of it. "Do you have any questions before leaving?" she makes sure I understood everything, closing her own handbag and standing before her desk. "No, Ma'am."

"Great," she grabs hold of her bag and jacket, putting her chair back under the table as I'm doing so with mine. Once the strap of my bag is around my shoulder, I look up at her, but she gestures me to move towards the door with her smile. I do it and lead the way to the exit, before retreating and asking for her to go first. I grin at her, but she doesn't complain. She leaves the room to have me behind her.

Since she has the key, she locks the door, but I wait for her, willing to spend these last minutes all alone with her by my side. I tuck one hand in a pocket of my trousers and grip the strap of my bag, smiling at the sight of her doing simple actions.

The sound of something that was dropped catches my attention, but she gasps, momentarily. "Oh, no..." her eyes drift down to the ground right when the door is locked, but we both see her phone on the floor. I hurry to move forward and take it, but she does the same, getting our hands in contact but giving to my skin a cold sensation at the feeling of hers on mine. "Thank you," she smiles but straightens up with her device in her hold, checking the screen and edges.

Her skin is really cold, no matter how hot she can be. "Is it all right?" I ask to know, but she nods, "Thank god it is, I thought the screen would be broken. I got the scare of my life."

I chuckle but understand her. "Anyway, let's go. Don't you have a bus to take?" she leads the way to the stairs, but I answer with a 'Yes'. She could propose to drive me—

"Do you want me to drive you home?"
