☽forty two
"go practice!" the coach loudly blew his whistle, the high pitched frequency of it echoing and bouncing off the gym walls, practically making the seven boys deaf.
jimin glanced towards one of the nets to see jungkook simply standing by it, obviously waiting for him to grab a ball so they could start.
"hey," someone whispered quietly, knowing the coach wouldn't like side conversation during practice time. "are you okay? you don't look like you slept very well last night."
jimin simply gave namjoon a nod, signaling with his head that he indeed was fine- even if it did just so happen to be a lie.
in all honesty the teenager didn't manage to even get the slightest bit of rest, instead spending the night overthinking about the situation with jungkook.
he was so worried about him, but he knew if he were to directly do something about it, the younger would literally hate him.
hoseok called for namjoon making the blonde give a sigh, looking back at the tired looking boy one last time before jogging over with a ball in his hand so they could start.
jimin reached his hands into the bin, not paying much attention since he was too restless to really focus, and grabbed a ball.
when he pulled on it jimin was obviously expecting for it to just come right out, but it was unexpectedly tugged on from the other side.
before his small body could fall forward however, someone instantly grabbed onto him to securely prevent him from slipping off his feet.
"sorry, i didn't mean to do that."
jimin swallowed as he saw taehyung looking at him worriedly, volleyball in hand, meaning they both had accidentally reached for the same one.
"it's fine." he muttered, placing some distance between the two of them by taking a couple side steps away.
taehyung instantly noticed him backing up, a frown replacing his face. "right," he breathed, holding out the volleyball towards the other. "here."
"thanks-"
"jimin!"
his eyes darted towards jungkook, seeing him with his arms crossed and sending a glare directly towards his old best friend.
it was pretty obvious he was less angry from them talking and wasting time, and more from the fact that it was taehyung who had told the older his secret- considering he was the only one who knew.
"i need to go, but thanks." jimin repeated, talking off walking towards the the opposite side of the net from jungkook, leaving his other teammate by himself by the basket of volleyballs.
"i'll start." jungkook held out his hands in a position showing he was ready to catch it.
jimin tossed over the ball to let him start, jungkook got in a serving stance while jimin got ready to hit it back to him.
as jungkook swung his arm back to hit the ball, the back side of his forearm showed, revealing a large hand-like bruise.
seeing the mark, jimin instantly shifted his eyes to prevent from making his staring too obvious.
knowing there was nothing he could do, the teenager tried his best to remove the bruise out of his sight and focus on receiving— however it still hurt him to see.
