Chapter 14: Ice-Ice-FUCK

Finding our way around indecision
We are we are we are
Rather helpless
Take us forever
A whisper to a scream

Victoria rubbed her hands up and down her arms as she made her way to the bathroom.  She felt goosebumps all over her skin and wanted to take a bath.  Victoria walked into the bathroom and leaned over, turning the knob.  She waited a few minutes and then stuck her hand under the water.  She shook her head and turned it some more.  She waited again and when she put her hand under, nothing.

The water was cold.

"Mom!"  Victoria called.

Silence.

"Mom!"  Victoria called again, sighing.

"Yes?"  She finally heard her mother call back.

"The water heater is broken!"

"What?"

Victoria groaned, leaning her head back and then stood up straight and made her way out of the bathroom.

"I said the water heater is broken!"  She walked over and leaned over the banister, looking down.

Soon, her mother appeared downstairs and looked up.  "Really?"  Her mother shook her head.  "Anthony!"  She then called.

"Mom, I'm eating".  Anthony said from in the kitchen.

"Help your sister".

Anthony groaned, just wanting to eat but got out of his chair, nonetheless.  Anthony made his way up the stairs, jogging.

"Look".  Victoria said once he was close enough and the two went into the bathroom where the water was still running.

Victoria put her hand under the water for about ten seconds.  "Nothing.  It's freezing".  She pulled away.

Anthony looked confused.  "I see it steaming.  Maybe it's not-"  Anthony hissed as he put his hand under the water, quickly pulling away.  "Tori, it's hotter than hell".  He looked at her with some concern.

"What?"  She asked in a low voice then looked at her hand which was now red.  It didn't hurt at all.

With the help of her brother, Anthony made the bath water a right temperature for it.  So it wasn't melting her skin off.  Once he left, Victoria got in and got comfortable.  Her head leaned against the bath pillow and she closed her eyes.

The smell of lavender bath salts soothed her nerves for a moment and soon she fell asleep.

Victoria stood on the road, looking at the particles that floated around her.  She brought her hand up and waved it slowly, moving some of the particles that were near and then dropped her hand.  Victoria did what she usually did when it came to not hiding.

She ran.

Victoria ran down the street, hearing screeches of No Face and then something she has never heard before. Victoria turned her head slightly, seeing if it was behind her but saw nothing. She continued to run, her feet killing her from the blisters and cuts.   Victoria ran until she found a house in front of a small park and ran up the stairs, swinging the door open as she went inside.

Victoria slowly closed the door and looked around before entering the room over where there were a few couches.  Victoria took a seat on a chair and let out heavy breaths.  Her chest huffed up and down as she caught her breath.

"Victoria"  an eerie voice dragged out.

Her posture straightened as she was now on the alert.  Victoria looked around the room but didn't see anything.  She slowly stood up and looked from where she came from.

"Victoria".  It said again.

Victoria took a few steps and then something wrapped around her leg and then one grabbed her arm, stopping her in place.  Victoria let out a cry from the sudden grip as she tried to get out.

"You can't run from me".  The eerie voice sounded again as the grip on her arm soon left and then it tugged at her ankle, making her fall, slamming right onto her back.

Victoria let out a gasp as her body took a screenshot in the bathtub.  The water moved back and forth as she did.  She gripped the edge of the tub and looked around.

She then jumped when she heard a knock on the door.

"Tori, honey. Are you alright? You've been in there for awhile". The voice of her mother sounded on the other side of the door.

"Yes". Victoria said, taking a deep breath, placing her wet hand on her forehead. "Fell asleep".

"Remember what I told you about that? Be careful. You could drown". Her mother 'tsk'.

"Yes". Victoria rolled her eyes and then slowly stood from the tub, grabbing her towel. "I'm getting out now". She said and then soon heard her mothers footsteps disappear.

Once Victoria was dried off and changed into her pajamas she grabbed an extra blanket from her room and made her way to Anthony's bedroom. Ever since she got back she couldn't sleep in her room. She hated how open and wide it made her feel. She always felt something was crawling and waiting to grab her. So, Anthony being the oldest son gifted with a big closest made some changes.

He moved a lot of his clothes and stuff out of the closest. Allowing for Victoria to make her own bed in there. She told him she would feel safer being in a small place with the door shut and knowing that Anthony was right outside made her feel safe.

Anthony joked with; "Guess it'll get me first and you have time to escape"

Victoria didn't find it funny and then Anthony felt bad.

But Anthony didn't mind. He would do anything to protect his sister.

"Yeah. Yeah. Ok." Anthony was on his phone and then glanced to Victoria who walked in. "Hey, I have to go. Alright?" And then soon enough he hung up.

"Good?" He asked her and she nodded.

"Cold". She simply said and walked over to the closest, the door already opened as she sat down.

"Who were you talking too?" She asked.

"Oh, just Jonathan". He didn't want it to seem like a big deal.

Victoria looked at him strangely. Since when we're those two friends? "How's Will? Remember when I said I visited him?" She asked, moving her legs slightly.

"Oh. Yeah. No, he's fine. Jonathan was..."

He didn't finish when he saw Victoria hunch over, grabbing her stomach.

"You good? Oh, are you on your period?" He asked and if it wasn't for the intense pain Victoria was feeling she would've threw a pillow at him.

"No!" She shouted and then groaned in pain. "I don't-OW!" She said loudly. "It burns". She screeched.

"What?" Anthony asked, standing up and making his way towards her. "You said you were just cold".

"I don't know-OW! It's just my head playing tricks on me". She tried to justify it. It had to be. That's what the therapist at the school said. She was just going crazy.

"Come on". Anthony helped her up and walked her to his bed where she laid down but she continued to whither in pain and then she let out a scream.

"Shit". Anthony hissed, not knowing what to do. Should he call an ambulance?

"IT BURNS!" Victoria screeched, her nails suddenly going over her skin, making cuts as she tried to ease the pain.

"Fuck this". Anthony went to call 911 but his phone started to ring again. He picked it up with an annoyed voice. "What?"

He listened to Jonathan's voice and his eyes widened, turning to Victoria's withering figure. "What do you mean that's happening to Will? Victoria is going through something similar".
