Chapter 10: New Kids on the Block

"More days to come, new places to go
I've got to leave, it's time for a show
Here I am
Rock you like a hurricane"

October 28th, 1984

"Strawberry please."  Heather said to the waiter with a flirtatious smile before handing him the menu.  She then looked to the person across from her as the waiter grabbed the menu from her hand.

The menu closed and Victoria Parker looked to the waiter with a soft smile.  "Vanilla."

"Plain and simple for my little Tori."  Heather smiled widely as Victoria handed the menu to the waiter before he headed off.

"Vanilla is underrated.  In ice cream and shake form."  Victoria told her.

Heather moved her hair slightly before eyeing the waiter again.  "Heather."  Tori raised an eyebrow.

"Do you think he digs me?"  Heather asked her and Victoria shook her head slightly, smiling.

It didn't take long for their shakes to arrive and when they did, Victoria took her camera out and took a few pictures of Heather with a milkshake. Heather even got the waiter to take a picture of the two together with their shakes. Heather Holloway could certainly charm any man.

"So. Are you coming to my Halloween party?" Heather asked as she bit the Cherry from its stem.

"I-I don't think so Heather." Victoria played with her straw.

"Oh, come on. You're my best friend. You have to come." Heather gave her a puppy look but it wasn't working.

"You know I don't do parties and I especially don't do parties now." Victoria said seriously, looking down at the table.

Heather looked at her best friend sadly and nodded. "I understand. I'm glad that you're here though." Heather reached across the table and grabbed Victoria's hand. "I really am."

Victoria gave a small smile, squeezing her hand back before taking it away and drinking more of her milkshake. The two talked some more before paying and walking out.

"Heather. Need a ride?" Anthony asked and Heather shook her head.

"No. I have a date...I think it's a date." Her eyebrows furrowed together before Victoria got into the passenger seat.

"The waiter." Victoria explained and Anthony nodded.

"Got it. See you tomorrow." He gave a wave to Heather as she waved back.

"Bye!"

Anthony glanced to his kid sister before he started the car.

"Where is she?  Where is she?"  Anthony bursted into the police station, his parents right behind him as he looked around before coming to a stop.

"Tori?"  Anthony asked as he looked at his kid sister who was sitting in a chair with Hopper right next to her.  Her hair was knotted, her clothes were ripped all over, and she had a blanket around her.

"Tony?"   She squeaked out and he immediately went over and wrapped his arms around her.  Victoria shakily wrapped her arms around him as she breathed out heavily.

"You left me."  She croaked out.

"You left me and I-I needed you.  Why did you-"

"I know.  I'm so so sorry."  Anthony almost started crying as he just held onto her tightly.  "I'll never leave you again.  I promise."

"Wake up!"

Anthony jolted a bit as he woke up. He grabbed the pillow that was thrown at him then looked over seeing Steve standing at the foot of his bed with a smile. "You're going to be late." Steve said.

"Stupid alarm." Anthony groaned, leaning back into his pillow while rubbing his sleepy eyes. "How did you get in?" He asked.

"I let him in." Tori said as she past by the door.

"Get dressed man." Steve pointed at him as he walked backwards to exit. "Tori!" Steve shouted causing the girl to jump as she was just walking back and forth.

"Please don't yell." She said softly.

"Sorry." Steve apologized, about to give her a pat on the shoulder, but decided against it. "Riding with us? We're picking up Nancy." He asked and she nodded.

"I'll be downstairs." She looked from him to Anthony before turning around and walking down the stairs.

Once Steve parked the car, Victoria grabbed her bag and then opened up the door. "Thanks." She whispered as she headed out.

"Later." Anthony then said as he got out as well, walking beside her as they headed to their usual spot in front of the school to sit down before the bell rang.

"You know you shouldn't fidget with your camera when walking." Anthony pointed out as she wasn't paying attention to where she was going.

"I'm skilled." Was all she said as she sat down on some concrete, crossing her ankles as they hung in the air.

"You sure you're ok? You seem a bit quieter than usual?" Anthony questioned and she just nodded.

"Fine."

Anthony was about to say something else but the sound of Rock You Like a Hurricane sounded their ears. It made both Parker siblings look up as they saw a new car come into the parking lot before making a stop.

"California." Victoria said.

"What?" Anthony raised an eyebrow at her random comment.

"License plate." She said simply as a girl with red hair came out, riding her skateboard to the middle school then a new guy who seemed to have all the ladies attention. Minus Victoria who was dating her camera.

"Stupid camera." Victoria groaned and shook it.

"Hey. Hey." Anthony grabbed it. "You're going to make it worse. If you can't fix it just ask Jonathan." He told her.

"I think it's broken." Victoria said.

"Let me see. Maybe I can help." Anthony looked at it and she smiled a bit.

"You know nothing of camera's." Victoria pointed out as the new kid walked by them, throwing the cigarette on the ground.

Anthony pressed a button, the flash going off in Victoria's eyes making her grumble. Anthony who looked shocked of what he did looked from the camera to his sister.

"Did I fix it?" He asked with a thrilled voice.

It was third period and Victoria was fast walking to her locker since she forgot her photos for The Yearbook Class.  Even though her teacher told her to take her time she felt rushed.  Maybe it was due to the empty halls of everyone being in their classes, knowing she was out of place and that fear of not being prepared.

She put her locker combo in and grabbed her photos.  She took them in her hand as she looked at them with a small smile then closed her locker.  The sound echoed her ears and her smile slowly started to drop as she felt her surroundings change.

When she looked up she noticed everything was cold.  She took in deep breaths as she looked at the particles float around the air.  She  was having another episode...

She's frozen

She can't talk

Or move her arms or legs

She starts to panic and her breath gets fast and heavy while her heart feels like it's pounding out of her chest.

When she heard the familiar sound of the demogorgon that's when it got worse for her.  Her chest puffed in and out while she tried to cry out for help but it only turned into muffle cries due to not being able to open her mouth.

Once she saw the creature on the other end of the hall she could feel her hand holding the pictures start to shake as she tried to get out of her episode she was in and just run.  But she couldn't.  Ever since she came back she couldn't run like she did before.  She was just stuck, unable to cry out for any help, unable to breathe.

Victoria squeezed her eyes shut in hope of it going away.  She reminded herself she was in Hawkins.  Out of The Upside Down.  She was safe.  It was gone.  The Upside Down and everything in it was gone.

She opened up her eyes and everything was normal.  She opened up her mouth and let in deep breaths as she tried to calm herself down.  She looked around and let out a breath of relief before she made her way back to class as if nothing happened.

**this took forever because I was debating how I wanted Billy to interact with Victoria in the future.  And like the caver I am...I caved**
