Chapter 7/Thalia's story
Grace
It is been a weird day for me. I didn't know that I was part of a family, a human family and I've been living with Yalu and the other dragons for twenty years! As I was thinking, Dad, was looking at me. "Are you ok?" I nodded, "Yeah, just overwhelmed of that fact that I used to live here in Berk." Snoutlout said, "Well, I still can't believe that you were Grace, Thalia. You were amazing!" I blushed, "Uh, thanks, Snoutlout." Fishlegs was very curious. "Tell us. About how you lived with the Dragons, I mean." I looked at Yalu for how I should explain my Dragon life to the Vikings. She smiles at me and said, "Grace, I mean Thalia, just tell them in your own way. Just be yourself." I took a deep breath and said, "Being the only one with a Night Fury was difficult life, mostly because I was different than the other Hatchlings. When Yalu took me, she had no idea that I was a daughter of a Chief. She was protecting me from the Fury Hunters." Mom was shaken, and I said, "Hey, don't be sad. It was twenty years ago and you didn't know." Dad said, "She's right, Astrid." I continued, "When I was first brought to my home, White Isle, my adoptive father, the King, wasn't all thrilled of a baby in the isle. But Yalu convince him that she and him can look after me and teach me the ways of the Dragons. He accepted me and Yalu and my father raised me as if I was their offspring. I was bullied by the other Dragons but Yalu was always there for me. When I met Hiccup, I didn't realize he was my real father, until I had a flashback of when I was a baby and the necklace that he had given me. I never took it off." Dad was gone as I finished the story and I knew where he was. Where we first met. I flew on Yalu to find him.
Hiccup
I couldn't take it. Hearing my daughter's life with the Dragons made me realize I wasn't there for her she needed me the most. As I sat in Itchy Armpit, I hear a familiar sound. It was Yalu coming in for a landing and Grace jumped off. "I figured I would find you here, Dad." I didn't reply and she knew why. "Hiccup... you are still my Dad, even though you weren't in my life, and you're family to me. Being a kid living with Dragons taught me that being different isn't bad I thought it would be. Dad, don't be sad of the past, just keep moving forward." I looked at her with amazement and awe. "Hey, since when you been giving advice? I was supposed to do that!" She laughs, "Beat you to it. So, what is this place?" "This is Itchy Armpit. Toothless and I discovered this isle one day when we were your age. Your mother found me here too, with Stormfly." "Stormfly?" She asked. Toothless explains for me, "She's your mother's dragon before you were born. Actually, before Berk was even peace with the Dragons we were attacking one other in raids." She was shocked. "Are you serious? No kidding?" I nodded, "That's right, you didn't know the whole story of how I became Hiccup the Useless to Hiccup the Hero." She sat next to me and I begin to tell her the tale of how Toothless and I became friends.
Grace
Dad told me the story of how he and Toothless met and the adventures they had for twenty years and I was amazed. "Wow, you really did all of that? Hard to believe that you were the one who made peace with the Dragons in the first place." He shrug as if it was no big deal. "I get that all the time." I said, "Well, something doesn't add up." Hiccup was curious, "What you mean?" "Well, Dagur. He wanted to attack you and the others in Dragon's Edge. Maybe... he was not threating us, but to warn us." Dad laughs as if I was very crazy. "Thalia, you don't know Dagur like we do. He's never gonna change." We went back to the house and I thought about Dad said. I sneaked into the stables and was about to make my escape until a voice said, "You're going after Dagur, aren't you?" I gulped and saw Eret standing sideways. "You knew?" I asked nervously. He walks towards me, "I wouldn't be surprised that the Chief's daughter going on a crazy mission, just like her father was. I'm going with you." I said, "Eret, you really don't have to-" "I want to. There is no way I'm letting this go by, and I always wanted to go on an adventure." I sighed, "Fine, just hope Hiccup wouldn't figure it out." "Trust me, if he knew I tag along with his daughter, he'll be grateful." "Sure, if you really want to please him." I joked. We flew off before anyone else finds out we left.
