"you can close your eyes if you want," tyler spoke into the microphone, his dainty fingers pressing away softly at his piano. "it can make things less scary."
the arena was quiet, many fans wrapping their arms around others' shoulders, providing the sense of comfort that 'i've been there too,' can bring as they cried.
"i know where you stand," tyler sang softly, his voice like silk. "silent in the trees."
the clique was crying, all together. this was the end of their concert, but the beginning of a fresh start.
a start with no self-harm, a start with no thoughts of leaving the earth, another chance at life.
"and that's where i am," they all sang with tyler. "silent in the trees."
josh was singing too as he sat at his drums, swaying softly back and forth with his eyes lightly fluttered closed, listening to the smooth voice of his best friend.
the song hit too close to home for everyone in the arena.
soon, it was time for the boys to get out into the crowd and drum as hard as they could.
the song ended, red confetti flew, tyler and josh were both grinning, looking around as thousands of people cheered for them.
after about ten minutes, the two boys were back stage, panting from all the overwhelming emotions.
"you were so great tonight, tyjo," josh smiled, ruffling his best friend's hair.
"so were you," tyler grinned.
"showers then mario kart and oreos?" josh asked.
tyler nodded.
it was their usual post-show ritual.
and they did just that. they showered then met on the couch of their tour bus, turning on the wii and starting the game while they ate oreos.
this tour would be fun.
this tour would be helpful.
this tour would be incredible.
this tour would be remarkable.
