Chapter 3-

Grian dropped to his knees, sobbing into his hands. He was all alone, again. His friends were all gone, again. He laid down in the dirt and grass, crying his eyes out, he couldn't bare the thought of all his friends leaving him, he had no idea how to get them back.

After what felt like hours, his tears ran dry. He picked him self up and brushed of his clothes. He set off on a walk, he didn't know where, he just let his legs wander. He walked all through Boatem. He admired the giga-base. He was always fascinated by Pearl and Scar's swiftness at building. He remembered on Evo, how Pearl had been there less than a day and already she had a more complete base than Grian's who had been there the whole time. He chuckled sadly at the memory.

He then went into Mumbo's base, being careful not to touch anything, if it broke he wouldn't be able to fix it. He looked at all the red stone and interior design, Mumbo said he wasn't a builder, Grian thought other wise.

He came back out and stared at Treeza. He turned around to go inside his home when he saw some stone in the distance. It was unusual because it was hidden amongst trees yet was obviously placed so that Grian would find it.

He started towards it. Going slowly, if this was a trap then he needed to be extra careful. He also got to look at all the things surrounding him, the animals, the nature, it was all so beautiful. Even with a purple tint to his vision, he could still appreciate all of the fine details and could make out what colours where supposed to be where.

He enter a clearing, lined with all sorts of flowers and a pond with lily pads. The pond was filled with tropical fish and beautifully blue water, towering over the pond however, was the stone Grian had seen, it was a statue.

The statue had to be around ten feet tall, it was a women. She had long robes with her arms posed that of a villager's. she had long straight hair that reached the hem of her robes and massive wings that were almost as big as her. She had an expressionless face with her eyes covered with a mask, a mask that had the watcher symbol on it. Below her was a sign, Grian knew it would be a riddle, he had seen this many times before. He even wrote a few himself.

The sign read: "Where you fall and hope is lost, where tall monsters lurk, come find what u seek, pay the cost and surrender your worth."

He sat back on a conveniently placed bench. He was horrified at the thought of going back there, he couldn't do it. The memories came flooding back to him, the training, the punishments, the torturing, he was scared he would re-live it.

Yet he knew he had no choice. He needed to get his family back, no matter the cost. He began preparing and making a plan in his mind as he sped back to his base. He would need to be ready if he wanted to stand a chance at survival.
