Chapter 5
"Don't you think that words are restricting?" Jungkook on the next appointment.
She hummed questioningly.
"Words are cages that restricts our emotions to the rise and fall of each letter and the curve of every punctuation isn't, Noona?" Jungkook mumbled into the air and she paused for a second just to admire the mere symphony of wordings that he had just uttered.
"Arent planets confined to galaxies? Aren't galaxies confined to this universe? Aren't we confined to the string of our emotions and our past Jungkook-ssi?" She asked softly, matching the soft timbre of his voice.
He fell into silence at that and she smiled giving him time to contemplate.
"Do you ever feel like that you are not the best at what your passion and that your dreams..." he trailed of as if not knowing what to say.
"I know." she whispered. Oh how she knew it so well.
"You do Noona?" He inquired surprised. "But then you do what you like right? That's why you are so good right?"
She shook her head.
"When did I ever say that this was my passion Jungkook-ah?" She asks quietly.
He stays silent.
"Why didn't you pursue your passion?" Jungkook asks when she desnt elaborate further.
"If you don't mind me asking that is." He hastily adds.
She huffs out a breath. She doesn't know if she is bothered by it. Should she be? She doesn't know anything anymore.
"Not all of us are granted opportunities or even allowed to go after what we want Jungkook."
That loud silence again.
"Why? Why were you not allowed to pursue your dreams noona?"
"Sometimes its for the best Jungkook."
"Really? Then are you happy right now?"
"Yes. I earn a lot of money ."
It was then Jungkook realized that hesitation that was often explained in stories to show reluctance often did not happen at all. People get so used to, they don't even realize before they are saying the recorder meaningless words again and again, using them like a shield, cocooned in their own world of make believe.
"Really? If money is happiness then why do you look really sad right now?"
She didn't reply, just merely continue her work trying to block out his words. But Jungkook wasn't giving up.
"Do you feel satisfied when you've treated a patient?"
"Do you know why I was crying that day?" Jungkook asked again.
"Jungkook don't tell me anything you do-" She started but he cut her off firmly.
"I want to Noona." And she fell silent immediately.
"I cried that day, because of my back pain, I'm not able to sit and write music like I want to. It also prevents me from dancing with is also passion of mine. That day was very important to me, one of our showcases were on that day and I couldn't attend because I was not allowed to. I felt worthless from a few days of not being able to do what I dreamt and breathed for."
"It was suffocating Noona." Jungkook whispered after that avalanche words that stunned her.
"I'd die rather than live like that." Jungkook said somberly and she flicked his head.
"Yah! Don't say stuff like that!" She scolded Jungkook and he chuckled.
"Do you think of this job like that?"
She stayed silent.
"Then you are not happy, Noo-" Jungkook started again.
"That's it Mr. Jungkook, we are done for today." She aid firmly trying to not let her voice tremble and show that her entire world could be affected by a black haired shy boy's words.
"Noo-"
"I thought I said we were done?" She asked unintentionally sharply and Jungkook shut up.
He fixed himself as she turned around trying to calm down her raging emotions.
Jungkook's onyx eyes searched her brown ones so intensely, it took her breath away as she tried to settle down into her chair. She refused to back down and submit to the younger's intense eye stare .
They younger's orbs were the prettiest male eyes she had seen in a while.
Either that or it was her exhaustion speaking.
Then just as suddenly as the intense stare down had started, it ended when the younger looked away tonguing the inside of his cheeks nodding to himself.
"Tomorrow ." She reminded him pretending to go through paperwork as she felt Jungkook's silent reproachful stare on her face.
He bowed before letting himself out.
She finally breathed out a relieved sigh when the door shut close, rubbing a weary hand down her face.
The door suddenly opened again and she jolted upright in surprise as she saw Jungkook comeback in.
She watched as he paused on the the doorway as if waiting to collect his thoughts.
"I'm sorry for intruding." He apologized doing an unnecessary ninety degree bow making her mouth part open in surprise and clamber for words as the sudden lump of guilt lodge itself in her throat awkwardly.
And then he was gone.
