Chapter 1
First time she met him, it was in the whitewashed four walled cabin she called an office.
He had come in timid and shy, much unlike other people she often had to deal with. His speech was stuttered and quick shy glances were accompanied with innocent bunny toothed smiles that threw her off.
Her patients were mainly people of considerable fame. People who required outmost care for their fame and wealth laden heads and of course, let's not forget, confidentiality.
Celebrities.
She had began her career as a physiotherapist with little to no connections and no clue of the outside world. When she had graduated from medical college after years of hardwork, she had not expected this amount of success in such a short amount of time.
After that one little incident that threw her into the city's scientific spotlight, she had little to no time for herself anymore. Maybe that was better, a hectic schedule lead to an exhausted mind and body and that helped her take her mind off her dark swirling and tumbling thoughts that she kept hidden behind her professional smile.
At the age of 24, she was known as one of Seoul's (if not the entire nation's) best physiotherapist, the one with the golden touch. The sudden wave of fame that carried her to the spotlight, also carried her right into the clutches of dominating and bling filled sphere of Korea's world of entertainment.
She soon became an exclusive doctor, solely for the purpose of treating celebrities and idols with their physiological problems. She had soon come to accept the fact that, even if she didn't want to treat the stuck up and spoiled excuse of humans, she earned better than an average job as physiotherapist in a similar Independent clinic.
It was one of those days, when she wanted to consider just give up and move back to her countryside house in Busan.
But she was coward to do that too.
It was while she was contemplating her life choices, result of a three hour long session with one of her extremely self-conceited client, when her monitor alerted the approach of the next client.
A soft knock on the door was the first thing that surprised her. Almost most of them just barged in.
A boyish looking man with the most adorable pair of wide eyes that peeked out from the ridiculously large black hoodie, greeted her tired gaze. He politely stepped in and gently closed the door behind him after doing a full ninety degree bow.
To say that that she was stunned at his unusual mannerisms would be an understatement.
She bowed slightly back in acknowledgment as he took seat, slouched and unconfident position.
"Mr.Jeon Jungkook?" She asked to confirm softly and had to keep herself from chuckling at his sudden startled eyes that met hers for a second after nodding, before darting towards his bland brown timberlands.
"24, height; 178 cm, weight; 65kg, no disorders or previous health issues..."She read through his file before looking back to him again.
"So, Mr. Jungkook, what can I do for you?" She asks clasping her hands in front of her professionally flashing him a soft smile to put him at ease.
"Back pain." Jungkook's words were soft yet firm and to the point.
Not much of a talker then.
"Could you be more specific?" at this point she's convinced that, no celebrity can be this polite and he must be pulling an act.
But going against her cynical thoughts, he almost immediately complies by turning around and pointing at his spine.
Her chuckle is almost instantaneous and it earns a blush from the doe eyes man as he straightens and turns back, eyes looking anywhere but at hers in humiliation.
She is quick to apologize though, seeing that Jungkook seemed quite uncomfortable under her mirthful stare and he's almost as quick to wave her apology away, cracking a smile at her.
"Please lie face down." She gestures towards the treating bed that lies on the war corner of the room and he obliges hesitantly.
She allows him to take his time getting into a comfortable position while she reads through his file again . When the rustling of him settling down finally ceases, she gets up and walks towards him.
She begins gently and silently prodding, starting from his upper back and slowly working her way to the lower back, occasionally asking him to say something if that's the area in pain.
He let out a groan of satisfaction when she starts working on his lower back, muscles visibly relaxing under her touch. She immediately is able to narrow down his painful areas and surprisingly enough he's not fussy about it.
She silently gets her instruments and starts tapping at the heel of his foot, raising his foot in a 45 degree angle and he immediately winces in pain and she stops.
She has to first work out the stress knots first to know if the man has pain due to over exercise or something else.
"Could you please hitch up your hoodie?" She asks as she puts on some gloves.
She misses his hitch of breath as he awkwardly complies. He hitches it up an inch and she has to hold back a chuckle yet again.
This dude was too cute for his own good.
She mentally slaps herself for having the thought and replaces it with the chant 'patient patient patient' instead.
"A little bit more." She coaxes and he complies perhaps another two inches.
"Do you feel uncomfortable about this Mr. Jeon?" she has to keep the grin from her voice as she speaks. His behavior was so refreshing from the ones she had encountered before. She was used to exposed body parts, much more than this, this wasn't anything new to her.
There's a slight pause of consideration before the younger mutters out a negative and she takes it as the signal to go forth. She gently pushes up his black hoodie and the funnily contrasting white shirt underneath it, up towards the bottom of his shoulder blades for better access, missing the almost inaudible hum of discomfort.
She then begins lightly prodding at his back muscles, finding the right pressure to start working out the knots and a sudden uncomfortable whimper graces her ears.
"I'm sorry, is there something wrong?"
He squirms uncomfortably and- oh for the love of god-if he gets any shyer she might actually laugh in his face. Since celebrities, especially idols like him should be comfortable with their bodies by now.
"Could you um please remove the gloves off? I'm allergic to latex." His voice was small and apologizing but his words sent her into a panicked frenzy.
"Oh-I'm so sorry Mr. Jeon, I didn't pay attention, oh my god I'm so sorry-" She began rambling beating herself up for noticing the allergies listed in his file when she's cut off by the younger.
"Its okay." Even the bunny toothed smile he sends over his shoulder doesn't help her relax.
She can only hope that his company won't sue her for the rashes or worse stuff that could possibly pop up and damage the publicly worshiped idol that lay on her treatment bed.
"Please don't sue me." She mutters against her will, voice suddenly small and is startled out by the sudden booming and hearty laughter that graces the air like the deep and pleasant chimes of a church bell.
"You're treating me, why would I sue you Ms.Sae?" Jungkook asks and she can hear the smile on his face that has her flushing a deep red.
"F-for not paying attention to a patient, I guess?"
There's a pregnant pause and she suddenly wonders what the hell was it that she said to get the silence knocked up-
"Patient?" Jungkook's eyes now meet hers over his shoulder and she mutters out a stuttered affirmative and watches as he smiles in a way that has his eyes crinkling and bunny tooth showing almost adorably before turning round.
Shrugging of his weird behavior, she proceeds to slips of her latex gloves and continues with what she was doing after sanitizing her hand thoroughly.
She ignores the goose bumps that rise in the wake of her bare fingers as she lightly kneads his muscles. She soon finds the right pressure that has his muscles loosening under her touch, trying really hard to ignore how smooth and soft his skin feels under her fingers.
Soon, his muscles loses its tension beneath her touch and time passes by quickly as she works to the melody of the occasional muffled grateful sounds he emits . After few more touches, she lets him know that hes free to get up and he immediately complies, pulling down his clothes.
"I think its just muscle cramps occurring due to overwork, I'll prescribe you a pain reducing gel and a tablet which will help, but if it doesn't reduce after two weeks, then we'll have to start with physiotherapy after an x-ray." She explains to the nervous doe eyed man.
He nods in understanding and waits silently as he writes down the report, and prescribes his medicines.
When he leaves in an awkward whirl of cologne and shy yet grateful smiles, she realizes that, he was one of the rare patients she wouldn't mind treating again.
And that hes one person she would like to go beyond gloved touches and professional smiles.
She hadn't felt that way in a long time.
