TW: assault/non-con kiss, panic attack

It's the day after Jungkook and Seokjin made out and dry humped each other in the main office. It's not exactly the most romantic, but Jungkook has never felt so ready to go on a date in his life. Seokjin promised to make their first date really special, and Jungkook doesn't doubt that at all.

The only issue is the amount of people who will judge him from his current floor, but he won't be on that floor for long anyways and he knows that Jimin has put them in their place multiple times which has helped with the judgment at least a little bit—his coworkers don't stare as often or give him those slightly dirty looks as much.

Jungkook is happy, knowing he got the job and the heart of the CEO. He immediately told Jimin after they got off of work, not wanting the older to squeal and celebrate in the middle of the floor and tell everybody by accident; he didn't want them to know yet.

However, it doesn't seem to matter anyways because today, Jungkook's heart swells with joy when he gets to his cubicle and sees a few balloons, a small cake, and some cards saying they'll miss him when he goes.

"It was announced yesterday by former CEO Kim," Taehyung says. He's sitting in Jimin's desk chair with Jimin standing behind him, arms around his neck into a gentle hug—they've been doing this every morning now. Taehyung takes out his phone and scrolls before turning it to Jungkook. "See? He said he's really happy that you've come so far. Isn't that so kind of him?"

Jungkook reads the post, clutching his heart with every kind compliment and warm welcome. Even the comments are filled with nice things from fans and employees. But Jungkook deems the elder CEO's words the most important to him, considering he's the father of the man he'll be dating.

He'll be dating.

Holy shit.

Jungkook smiles like an idiot all day after that. Something tells him that things are going too well, but he brushes off the thought.

The cake was tasty, people are actually going to miss him being on their floor, but they tell him he deserves the promotion—these are mostly people who weren't the ones judging him for over two weeks. Miyoung and Kunwoo don't congratulate him, go figure. Not that he wants them to anyway. He slightly wishes he could rub it in their face, though. The silence from Kunwoo and eye-roll from Miyoung are enough to please him.

Just when he thought he couldn't get any happier, he's sitting at his desk with his headphones on when he gets a little tap on his shoulder. It's not his left shoulder, which Jimin usually taps, so he doesn't think it's him. He takes off his headphones and turns to the right, his mouth going agape as he comes face to face with Kim Seokjin.

People are looking at them curiously, which is usual for Seokjin because he's the center of attention no matter where he goes in this building. But Jungkook has a suspicion that the reason they're staring at him is because Seokjin has a bouquet of tulips, lilies, and roses of different colors in his hands—it's a huge fucking head of flowers. He can hardly even see Seokjin's broad shoulders behind them, and that's wild to Jungkook.

"I hope these are okay," Seokjin says sheepishly, poking at one of the yellow lilies. Jungkook stares up at him, amazed.

"They're beautiful," the younger tells him as he stands up and accepts the flowers. Jungkook is sensitive to smell and he loves the scent of flowers, and has even been told that he smells like flowers before. The gift is perfect. "I'm going to have to buy a vase big enough for all of these," he laughs.

Seokjin offers, "I can buy you one and have it sent here for now. So you'll have somewhere to put them." He scratches the back of his neck. "Man, I should've just put them in a vase to start with. Guess I know now, for next time."

For next time.

"Do you plan on buying me more flowers?"

Seokjin's eyebrows furrow. "Are you asking me that for real, or are you joking?" Jungkook shrugs, so Seokjin lifts his fingers to brush the loose strands from the younger's eyes. The touch is so loving, so gentle, but it brings a few noises of shock from his coworkers, some even gasping. Seokjin doesn't pay them any attention. He's looking Jungkook right in the eyes. "I'm going to buy all the prettiest flowers for my most precious flower, Jungkook-ah."

Jimin suddenly rolls over in his chair and lifts up a finger. "Sorry to interrupt your romantic little moment here, but there's water pouring out the bottom of the bouquet."

Jungkook quickly lifts the flowers and they all three look down to see the flowers dripping water onto the carpet. Seokjin whips out his phone with a curse, texting quickly.

"Your vase will be here in less than ten," he tells Jungkook. "The carpet is fine, it's just water." He gives a thumbs up to Jimin. "All good. Now, where was I?"

Jungkook giggles as Seokjin goes back to caressing his hair, the older smiling right back at Jungkook. The touch is still gentle and sweet, but the moment has passed and Jungkook has to poke Seokjin with the head of a tulip, right on the nose.

"You should get back to work," he tells the CEO, who grunts.

"I wanted to formally congratulate you on getting the job. And I also wanted to see if Saturday was good for you—you know, so I can start planning our date?"

Jungkook glances around to see if anyone is judging him for planning a date with the CEO, locking eyes with one of his encouraging coworkers, and then locking eyes with Miyoung. She's watching them just like everyone else, except she has her arms crossed and eyes narrowed rather than watching them in awe, like the others are doing. Jungkook doesn't pay her any mind. She'll be out of his life for good, soon.

"Thank you," Jungkook finally tells Seokjin, smiling softly up at him. "You didn't have to get me anything, you already congratulated me once."

Seokjin shrugs. "Two is better than one." He smiles. "I do have to get back to work, unfortunately. But I'll see you later, right? You could come by before you leave... if you want. You don't have to."

Jungkook imagines ending the work day by giving Seokjin a sweet kiss. It makes his heart flutter and cheeks warm up.

"I'll come by later." He whispers for only Seokjin to hear, "I hope you have a nice day, hyung."

The smile on Seokjin's face is infectious. With the way Seokjin glances down at his lips, he can tell he'd like to kiss him, just like Jungkook wishes he could do to him right now, but they settle on grinning at each other.

"You too, Jungkook-ah."

Seokjin teasingly flicks his finger underneath Jungkook's chin (Jungkook pouts) and lets out a soft laugh as he walks away, leaving Jungkook with a huge set of flowers. Not even two minutes after he sits down, Seokjin's assistant comes over with a big vase, helping him squeeze the bouquet into it and setting it on his desk.

"It's cute," she tells him. "Is that all you needed, Jungkook-ssi?"

"Yes, thank you so much."

The rest of the day goes by nicely. Work is fairly easy as usual, and Jungkook knows that he's going to be busier with his new job, but he's excited about that part. To have something to focus on will be great for him. As of right now, he has lightwork. He's always liked to push himself to the limits, so he's excited to see what all he'll be doing.

He starts work next Monday.

And now he has a date this Saturday.

Life couldn't be going any better.

Around an hour before time to head off, Jungkook goes to the break room. Hardly anyone ever comes here, opting to go to the cafeteria instead because it's just better there. The only things in the break room are a fridge, a counter with a sink, a microwave, and a coffee maker. Jungkook is thirsty, but not enough to go all the way to the cafeteria and buy something that's tasty. So, he gets a cup of water and chills in the break room alone. It's always quiet there, and Jungkook can people-watch through the glass walls.

He regrets watching, however, because the sight of Kunwoo walking in makes him sigh. It makes no sense, considering Kunwoo has always talked trash about the break room and how he never goes there. He's just here to follow Jungkook, which makes his tummy flip in an anxious sentiment.

"What do you want?" he bitterly asks, scowling as Kunwoo walks right up to him.

Kunwoo is looking right into his eyes and Jungkook would've swooned over it weeks ago, but now he feels irritated with him nearby. He feels even ickier as the younger gets closer, making Jungkook frown as he's trapped against the counter.

"What the f—"

"You did a great job on the showcase," Kunwoo says, but then he cuts to the point. "Baby, why don't we just talk things out?" He places his hands down on Jungkook's waist and unsurprisingly, it feels nothing like it does when Seokjin does the same thing. He feels nothing but pure anger as Kunwoo leans into his neck—he tries to kiss Jungkook's cheek, but Jungkook tilts his head away and it only makes Kunwoo think he's allowing him to kiss his neck instead.

"I'm not talking things out," Jungkook spits out, gripping tightly onto Kunwoo's wrists to stop them from moving anywhere else. "Get off of me, Kunwoo. What, you think it's a win-or-win situation for you? If you lose, you try and get me back, but if you win, you rub it in my face? Get away from me."

Kunwoo nips at his skin, which was once familiar and nice to Jungkook, but now he hates the feeling. He can't imagine anyone else doing these things to him except for Seokjin. He's the only person he wants.

"Hyung, it's not like that," Kunwoo tries to say.

Anger surges through Jungkook's entire body. He swears he can feel a pair of eyes on them, and it's likely due to the glass walls, but Jungkook doesn't even care about that right now. All he cares about is getting free from Kunwoo's hold.

"I said get the fuck off," he spits out, pushing onto Kunwoo's chest. "I'm reporting your ass for assault."

Kunwoo pulls away fast, eyeing Jungkook. "What the hell? It's not that serious, Jungkook. I just wanted you back."

"Then you should've never cheated on me, you asshole." Jungkook wipes away at his neck, scrubbing away the icky kisses Kunwoo planted there. "You're a horrible person, Choi Kunwoo. You're a selfish prick, and you're going to get fired. I'll make sure of it."

Kunwoo complains from the second Jungkook steps away to the very last moment he closes the door on his way out, not caring to hear his pleas or begs. Jungkook has never felt so disgusted, rushing to the bathroom just to scrub every ounce of Kunwoo's DNA off of his skin. His skin is red by the time he gets done, and he gives it a little time to settle.

Now more than ever, all Jungkook wants to do is go to Seokjin's office and vent to him. Considering he's going to report Kunwoo, he might as well report it to the CEO himself. And while he's at it, he's going to tell Seokjin the full story, that Kunwoo is his ex boyfriend and Miyoung is also just as awful. He wants Seokjin to know, now that everything is over, that Kunwoo is a piece of shit.

He heads up the elevator, feeling sick to his stomach and furious beyond imagination. He can only hope that Seokjin isn't in a meeting because his secretary doesn't say otherwise whenever he walks right by her and to the main office. Jungkook plans in his head, how he's going to start the conversation.

Kunwoo is my ex boyfriend.

I just got assaulted, please fire Choi Kunwoo.

Hi, how was your day?

How do people start conversations like this? Jungkook has no idea because he's never had to do it. He's never even filed a report against someone, but the amount of times Kunwoo has given him a hard time, he wants him gone. And he might just report Miyoung for starting rumors about him, who knows?

Jungkook pauses in the doorway of Seokjin's office. He doesn't know if he's imagining things or not, because as he's thinking about reporting Miyoung, he sees her. In the office. Right in the middle of the room with Seokjin.

He's confused, stuck to the floor like glue as Miyoung talks to Seokjin. Why is she even here? What are they talking about?

Seokjin has his back to the door, so he can't see his expression. He's so distracted by looking for Seokjin's reaction that he doesn't even notice Miyoung glancing over at him.

However, he does notice the way she steps forward, much closer to Seokjin, and she takes his hands into hers. Within an instant, Miyoung steps up on her toes and pulls Seokjin forward, placing her lips right against his and causing the air to leave Jungkook's lungs. Everything goes blurry as Jungkook's personal nightmare unfolds right before his eyes. His stomach plummets, his heart sinks below his chest, and his eyes well with hot, stinging tears.

Jungkook's brain doesn't allow him to notice that Seokjin's fingers are stiff and open, not closed around hers, or that he takes a step back just before Miyoung kisses him. All Jungkook can see is the kiss, and it feels like déjà vu, except this time it's so much worse.

Even if someone had stuck a knife to his chest, ripped his heart out of its place, or set his body on fire, nothing could compare the the pain he feels when he sees someone else in the arms of Kim Seokjin.

He never ever imagined he would see something like this coming. When he's around Seokjin, all he feels is happiness. That's how it usually goes. Seokjin always has him smiling, even when he shouldn't.

But right now, with just the mere thought of Seokjin kissing someone else behind his back, Jungkook's entire being feels like it's just been ripped into shreds.

His heart explodes in his chest. His fingers and legs go numb, and all he can do is slowly back away, nearly tumbling to the floor until he gets a grip onto the wall. The blood under his flesh feels thicker than ever, pulsing with anxiety as if it's just been injected into him, rushing over his soul.

His chest rises and falls with every deep breath he tries to take, feeling like he can't get enough oxygen. Jungkook knows the ache, the rush, and the pain of a panic attack. Before he can start spiraling, he rushes to a corner of the building where he can sit against the wall and gasp for air, cursing out as he begins to pour unwanted tears.

Though his hands are shaking, he manages to call Jimin and tries his best to explain where he is through ragged breaths. Jimin rushes to where he is and even though Jungkook didn't tell him why his heart feels like it just got ripped out, Jimin still tries to help him calm down and helps him breathe evenly.

Just when Jungkook thinks he's calmed down, his brain flashes the image of Miyoung and Seokjin kissing, and his heart gushes open once again as he reminds himself that it's not a nightmare, but real life, and he sobs even more, continuing to gasp for air until his chest feels so tight it might seriously explode.

"I-It hurts," he gasps out, reaching for Jimin's hands and holding tight. He cries out, "It hurts, hyung," and Jimin tries to shush his cries.

"It hurts? What hurts, my baby? What happened?"

"My- My chest." He grips onto his shirt, just over his chest. "Feels heavy. Hurts."

Jimin rushes up off of the floor. "Come on, let's get you checked out."

Jungkook sniffles, his heart still pounding. "It's a p-panic attack, hyung."

"What if it's worse?!" He pulls Jungkook off the floor as well. "I want you checked out, Jungkookie. For real, if it hurts that bad, I want to make sure you're okay and it's not like— a heart attack or something."

Jungkook has had plenty of panic attacks before, though he used to get them mostly in school. It's been a few years since his last one. He still knows what it is and how it feels like. But just to make Jimin feel better, he allows his friend to rush him to the hospital, allows the nurses to check him out, and makes sure his heart is okay.

He hates the way the nurses give him sympathetic smiles whenever they awkwardly walk in on him sobbing. They've probably seen plenty of panic attacks before, so they know just how to treat him with some water and reassuring words, but Jungkook really doesn't need the therapy.

When they leave and he settles down slightly, he hiccups through his words as he tells Jimin what he saw twenty minutes ago. Jimin's eyes turn vicious, and he calls Miyoung a bitch a trillion times, even going off on Seokjin: What the fuck? Did he just let her kiss him?

Jungkook also explains what happened with Kunwoo and it makes Jimin gasp.

"What the fuck is wrong with those two?" Jimin rolls his eyes. "I bet she kissed Seokjin on purpose, just because she's jealous of you. I feel like Seokjin-ssi really likes you though..? He seemed really genuine."

The mention of Seokjin has Jungkook's heart monitor jumping, which makes Jimin giggle.

"You genuinely like him too, clearly." Then, Jimin frowns. "I'm sorry all these shitty things are happening to you. I wish I could make you feel better by throwing all these people into space to never be seen again."

"It's fine," Jungkook sighs out.

Just as he looks sadly down at the floor, he notices a figure rushing outside the window of his room. It's Seokjin, who looks just as panicked as Jungkook feels, and once their eyes lock through the open door, Jungkook's heart monitor begins beeping like crazy because his chest tightens up again, recalling the image of Seokjin and Miyoung.

"Jungkook-ah?" The older quickly steps inside, examining Jungkook from head to toe. "What happened? Are you okay?"

"How did you even find out that Jungkook came to the hospital?" Jimin questions, scowling. Seokjin frowns at him, confused.

"My secretary overheard and asked if Jungkook was okay." His worried eyes once again meet Jungkook's. "Are you? What happened?"

Jungkook tries to swallow down the tightness in his throat. He doesn't like that Seokjin's presence makes his heart feel anything other than fondness. So, he tells him, "Get out." His voice is dry and weak. He has to swallow again to say it louder. "Please get out."

Seokjin's eyes soften, but not lovingly. They soften with a pool of hurt and confusion, unsure of why Jungkook would kick him out.

Jimin gets up and tugs on Seokjin's shoulder, leading him out of the door, but not without Seokjin giving Jungkook a puppy-like look. Like a puppy being scolded, so cute, and Jungkook hates that he thinks that. He's supposed to be mad at Seokjin, not thinking about how cute he looks. Damnit.

After Jimin shuts the door, he takes Seokjin off to the side and begins hounding him, pointing accusingly at him and narrowing his eyes as he pesters.

Seokjin frowns, turning to look at Jungkook through the window, and he looks slightly guilty which makes Jungkook feel like he's going to be sick to his stomach. He assumes that Jimin is blaming Seokjin for Jungkook's panic attack, dogging him for kissing Miyoung, but Jungkook can practically hear the defense in Seokjin's voice as he communicates back with Jimin, holding up his hands as a shield to block the accusations. Jimin crosses his arms, frowning, but his eyes soften from anger to a settled expression.

He tells Seokjin something, which has the older's shoulders falling. Then, Seokjin glances back at Jungkook before walking away, leaving Jimin to himself.

Jungkook wishes he could read mouths. Or minds. That might be cool to do.

Thankfully, he doesn't have to read any mouths because Jimin comes back into the room and immediately spills.

"He says that Miyoung came onto him out of nowhere." He sits back down in his seat. "I told him to give you time regardless. Didn't tell him why or anything, he just knows you saw the kiss and that you're upset." Jimin sighs, looking up at the younger. "I think you should tell him that this isn't the first time Miyoung has done some bullshit like this. I'm like, ninety-nine percent positive that she did it on purpose because she's jealous of yet another one of your relationships, except this time you have a loyal man—who, by the way, had Miyoung arrested." He snickers as Jungkook's eyes widen.

"Arrested?!"

Jimin cackles wildly. "He's an important man, so I can see how. She freaking assaulted him, dude! Maybe he could get Kunwoo arrested for you, too."

Jungkook pinches the bridge of his nose.

Though he's still sad and upset, the thought of Miyoung getting arrested is quite a funny relief to him. If what Seokjin says is true, that she kissed him without consent, then she deserves it. And while he does believe that Miyoung would go that far, he still thinks he needs a little time to gather his thoughts before he dives right into talking to Seokjin—at least for today.

So, he plans to go home and relax, take a nice bath, and maybe watch some anime until he falls asleep. He deserves a nice meal with his baby Bam by his side. Sounds nice.

No Kim Seokjin until Jeon Jungkook is taken care of. That's what he tells himself.

If he thinks about Seokjin the entire rest of the day, that's not something he's willing to admit.
