Tyler had never anticipated feeling so comfortable with Josh. After an entire weekend spent in the depths of little space; he was finally big again and he could not stop blushing.
He just couldn't stop thinking about Josh and he definitely couldn't stop reading over all the needy and whiny texts he had sent him. It was hard to believe that he had really sent those, that he'd really talked to Josh while he was little and been perfectly fine about it.
It was shocking, it had taken him a long time to warm up to his friends but it had only taken him a few days with Josh. He wasn't sure if he should be worried or not.
Maybe he should, having a crush on someone was one thing, but having a crush on someone that's 5 years older than you and is also your teacher, that's dangerous. Tyler couldn't deny that it definitely wasn't his best idea to let himself like Josh, or agree to be in a platonic relationship with him but he would take what he could get.
Having Josh in anyway was good enough for him. It was different when he was in little space though. The crush wasn't so much romantic as it was just needing him, he had no idea how to explain it. But when he wasn't regressed, Tyler just wanted to kiss him.
He'd need to work on ignoring his crush better, it really was dangerous.
Before he left for school, he was surprised to hear noises in the kitchen and he was even more surprised when he saw his mom eating pancakes and drinking coffee at their dinning room table. He had honestly been about to leave, his school's cafeteria served breakfast bagels in the morning so usually he'd just buy food but the kitchen smelt good, like someone had actually cooked.
"Good-morning honey." His mom sighed distractedly when he entered the dinning room. She was scrolling through her phone, her other hand holding a fork.
"Good morning?" Tyler frowned and sat down at the table, beyond surprised to see a stack of pancakes sitting in front of him. "Uh- who made these?" He asked, reaching for the bottle of maple syrup that was on the center of the table.
His mom put her phone down and sighed. "Your dad did, I know. l was surprised too."
Tyler didn't even try to fathom why his dad would make breakfast. "Huh, and where is he?"
"He just left for work actually." She said sadly. It was hard to see his mother like this sometimes. He did question if she really loved his dad, he'd always expected them to get divorced but he knew that she loved him. Every time he left his mom buried herself in work and now she seemed about ready to do just that, even though he was still in the city.
"Surprise, surprise." Tyler murmured, digging into his food. Of course his dad was already gone, Tyler wasn't upset but he was confused. His dad seemed to be putting in an effort to be a part of the family again but it just seemed half-assed if Tyler was being honest.
Sure, he made them breakfast but he left right after, he didn't even stay.
Tyler sighed.

The anticipation to get to school was relieved once he got there. He immediately scanned the hallways for Josh but he figured he was going to be late for class as he always was. There was no way he would be here any earlier then he had to. Tyler imagined that Josh slept in as late as he could and then rushed to get ready.
Since he was already nearly late he didn't bother trying to find his friends, he'd see them later so what was the point, especially when english class started in a few minutes. He rushed through the hallways, smiling at the people he recognized in the process.
The class was mostly full when he entered and he immediately spotted Jenna, her hair almost back to its natural blonde. It was still tinted a light pink though.
"Hey Jenna." Tyler grinned, placing his school books on his desk. He was shaking in anticipation, Josh would be here soon with his coffee and his smile and maybe he'd ask him to meet him in his office like he did last week.
Jenna smiled back at him softly, reaching towards him with her hands, stretching. "You look better. Friday seemed rough for you."
Tyler sighed, he did not want to think about how awfully Friday had started. "It's fine, the rest of my day and weekend turned out really well. I'm going to have to work out a day to write the essay though."
"How was it?" She asked suddenly. Tyler's eyes widened, did she know something? He hadn't told anyone and he really had no plans to.
"How was what?" He asked stupidly, playing dumb.
"I mean, you and Mr.Dun must've talked right?" She whispered, moving closer to him and Tyler blushed, looking anywhere but at her. "He bolted after like 2 minutes and told us another teacher would be replacing him. We ended up with Coach Remy, it was weird." Jenna scrunched up her nose. "So.... what happened?"
Tyler didn't really know what to say, he had the urge to just spill everything to her. Jenna was really easy to talk to and even though they weren't best friends he still felt comfortable with her. "He comforted me I guess." Tyler said finally, eyes narrowed on Jenna's hand, her fingers stroking along his wrist. "He understood and was really nice about the whole situation, said to worry about writing the essay some other time."
"He really is the full package isn't he?" Jenna said , pulling her hands away from Tyler in favour of grabbing a pencil. Tyler internally agreed, Josh was a great guy.
"No wonder half the school wants to sleep with him." Jenna whispered.
Tyler's eyes widened, he nearly started choking. Jenna continued. "He seems like the type to sleep with a student to me if i'm being honest."
"Since when did you start gossiping so much?" Tyler asked. Did everyone really want to sleep with him? He seriously doubted that Josh would go for that but on the other hand, Josh and him were in some type of relationship and if Josh was willing to get with him, why wouldn't he be willing to sleep with one of the many girls who apparently threw themselves at him.
The line was blurry, he and Josh weren't even boyfriends. It was just platonic despite Tyler having feelings that were not platonic in the slightest.
Jenna shrugged, tentatively pushing her hair back. "Sorry, I spent the weekend with all the cheerleaders. And that's all they do."
"Isn't that a stereotype?" Tyler laughed.
"I mean, it's not like they're all popular. We aren't in some high school movie. But there's a lot of gossip and a lot of the girls are bitchy."
"And they talk about Jo- Mr.Dun." Tyler added, blushing, embarrassed, jealous.
Jenna raised an eyebrow. "Yeah, all the time, it's actually annoying. Have you not noticed that everyone here is practically in love with him?"
Tyler shook his head, bottom lip between his teeth. He was too busy being in love with Mr.Dun to realize he wasn't the only one who found him attractive. "I guess not." He frowned.
"Yeah, there was a rumour going around that he was going to go on a date with Mrs.Ryan two weeks ago but-," Jenna paused, sitting back in her seat. "oh shit, he's here."
Tyler quickly turned around, he felt uneasy but that didn't matter. Jenna was just gossiping. And Josh was here now so it didn't really matter.
He felt warm when he looked at him, his stomach tensing. Tyler smiled at him widely and Josh smiled right back before moving into the classroom. His classmates went quiet.
"Good morning." Josh addressed the class,
moving to stand in front of Tyler's desk.
Tyler gulped, staring at Josh's hand that was gripping the edge of his desk. Josh payed no attention to him, instead just set his coffee down on Tyler's desk. "Did you guys have a good weekend?"
Everyone answered at the same time, voices murmuring over each-other, Tyler included. A quiet yes escaping his lips.
"What about you sir?" Tyler asked carefully, looking up to meet Josh's gaze.
"Mine was really good, thank you for asking Tyler." Josh smiled at him before quickly looking away. "So today we'll start off with your choice of 15 minutes of reading or creative writing and then i'll be doing a presentation about your next big project."
"What is it?" Someone from the back of the class asked, Tyler had no idea who it was.
"It's a research project, trust me most of you will like it." Josh said, grabbing his coffee off of Tyler's desk before heading back to his own. "Also, the school is introducing a new tutoring program. So for those of you who have tutors assigned by the school, the system is changing."
"And one more thing, everyone who didn't write their essay please come here." Josh said, addressing the whole class for a last time. Tyler gulped, he was going to have to get up. Slowly, he pushed off of his chair and walked over to Josh, no one else had even moved. Tyler sighed, of course he was the only one who didn't do it.
"Oh, is it just me?" Tyler asked dumbly, glancing around the classroom.
Josh nodded, leaning back in his chair with a small smile. "Yeah but I figured it would be nicer of me to not call you out in front of the entire class."
"Oh, well thank you sir."
"No problem." Josh smiled. "Why dont you pull up a chair, I have a few things to talk to you about. No reason to stand."
Tyler nodded nervously, he hated that he was getting all antsy around Josh. He hated having crushes on people too. He grabbed one of the chairs by the bookshelf and picked it up, not wanting to drag it across the floor and draw more attention to himself. It was embarrassing enough that it looked like he was slacking in this class, Josh called him over to talk to him at least once a week.
He pushed the chair close to his desk, facing Josh, before sitting down nervously and petting his hair down. "Hi." He murmured quietly.
Josh smiled at him. "Hey, so uh- first of all. Do you feel ready to write your exam today?"
Tyler shrugged. "I guess so, I don't really have a choice though do I?"
Josh raised an amused eyebrow. "Well i'm trying to offer you options depending on where you're at right now. And since I do want you to succeed you can pick basically anytime this week." Tyler wondered if Josh would do the same for every other student, he probably would if Tyler was being honest. Josh was just too nice.
"Would it be after school or at lunch? I've never missed a test before so I don't really know..........." Tyler trailed off, unsure of where he was going with what he was saying.
"It'll have to be after school, I have to give you the same time that the others had. So an hour and 30 minutes maximum."
Tyler nodded. "Cool, so can I do it today then?" He wasn't sure if he was ready but he just wanted to get this over with.
"Yeah for sure." Josh smiled at him before pulling out a small day planner off of the corner of his desk. Tyler played with his hands as he watched him presumably write down when Tyler would be taking his test.
"Is that all?" Tyler asked nervously, he did feel comfortable but at the same time they were in class with twenty other people. He'd much rather they were alone.
"I- I don't want to make you uncomfortable, but can we speak about what happened?" Josh got closer to him, clearly trying to be discreet.
Tyler's eyes widened, did Josh want to talk about his little space now? Tyler spluttered. "Wait wh-?"
Josh chuckled and Tyler swore he could see a faint blush on his cheeks. "Not that." He whispered, his shoe touching Tyler's. "I mean why you had a panic attack."
Tyler scooted his chair closer, he sighed in relief. That was better then talking about little space, much less embarrassing. "Do we have to?"
Josh shook his head. "Well no, we don't have to but if it's common for you to get anxiety like that before tests i think it would be smart to figure out some solutions to make it easier for you."
"What kind of solutions?" Tyler asked in a small voice, unable to speak up in the moment.
"I could allow you to listen to music while you write your tests, maybe you could take your test in a separate classroom away from everyone else." Josh said, curling his fingers around his day planner. "it's all about what'll make this easier for you."
Tyler really couldn't believe that Josh cared this much, he knew he cared but not to this extent. He'd never had a teacher try to help him like this. Still, Tyler didn't think it was necessary. He didn't want special treatment. "I really don't think that's necessary, that was the first time in a long time that i've had a panic attack in class. There was just a lot of stuff going on that day."
"Okay, if you're sure." Josh looked unconvinced but Tyler was telling the truth, mostly. Friday just hadn't been a good day for him.
"So I'll take my test tonight after school?" Tyler confirmed, backing away from Josh despite really wanting to engulf the older man in a hug.
"Yeah, is 3:30PM okay?"
Tyler nodded before backtracking, he just wanted to continue talking to Josh. "I um-kinda wanted to go get food first, is that like okay?"
Josh snorted. "I was going to buy doughnuts anyways but sure, I can push it back to 3:45. That's enough time right?"
"Yes, thank you so much." Tyler blushed hard, he was sure he was bright red.
"No problem." Josh said, eyes flickering.
Tyler didn't bother putting his chair back, he just went back to his desk, heart racing. He was happy that conversation was over, it had been slow and painful and exciting at the same time. No matter what Josh was still his teacher, he'd probably have many more conversations about his schooling with Josh. He wasn't excited about it in the slightest.
Tyler's phone buzzed in his pocket, he immediately looked at Josh. Josh shrugged and Tyler took that as an okay for him to check his phone.
You look cute today Ty. Also, I do still have a surprise for you for being such a good boy this weekend. I was going to ask you to come to my office at lunch but I think i'll just give it to you tonight.
sent 9:15AM
Tyler immediately gasped and shut his phone in surprise. He forgot Josh had his number and could easily text him. He coughed to cover up his reaction, scared his classmates would think he was being weird. Josh looked at him, amused.
Tyler huffed and pulled out his phone.
you can't just text me in class like that! i almost threw my fucking phone at the wall. you're going to send me straight to little space, i'm not even kidding
sent 9:17
but also what's the surprise, can you tell me
sent 9:17
and can i still come to your office?
sent 9:18
Tyler swore he heard Josh chuckle but he didn't bother looking at him, mostly because he hadn't stopped looking at him since class started. He put his phone down and picked up his book, just about to read it when his phone buzzed.
Language, don't swear thanks.
sent 9:20
why :(
sent 9:20
You don't need to.
sent 9:20
i'm not little rn, i'll swear if i want to
sent 9:21
Ha, you're hilarious and I know that you know that's the only established rule we have so far.
sent 9:21
If you swear again i'm not giving you your surprise and you definitely won't be allowed in my office.
sent 9:21
but joshhhhhhhh,
sent 9:21
You're such a brat. Read your book!
sent 9:22
I didn't bring one
sent 9:22
Then do some creative writing.
sent 9:22
can i write about you?
sent 9:22
Tyler looked up then, expecting Josh to be on his phone. But he wasn't, he was looking at him and for a second Tyler thought he was blushing. Josh looked kind of in awe at him but he was quickly pulled away when he phone buzzed again.
If that's something that's interests you then yeah.
sent 9:23
you're interesting to me
sent 9:23
but i don't think i have time to write anything it's like 9:23 and we were only supposed to have 15 minutes of free time :))
sent 9:23
Tyler smirked as he sent that last text, he felt much more confident over text then in person, specifically around Josh. He watched as Josh looked up to meet his stare before he cleared his throat and begun speaking. "Alright class, put your books away or your pencils." Josh said, glaring at Tyler as he stood up and dusted off his dress pants.
Tyler snickered slightly, hiding his mouth with his hand. He didn't know where all that came from but it was nice, joking around with Josh like that and it also made him blush. He knew Josh was a dom but he wasn't really sure if Josh was doming him or not.
He and Josh still needed to talk about the specifics of their relationship if he was being honest. Rules and things like that. Because if Josh was going to tell him he wasn't allowed to swear what else wasn't he going to be allowed to do. He wasn't actually bothered by any of it, he liked that Josh didn't want him swearing and he liked that he was going to stop swearing just because Josh didn't like it. Josh had previously told them that he wasn't supposed to swear, he just wished they could talk about talk of this now.

Tyler ended up walking to the grocery store and picking up a box of cereal after school. It definitely didn't count as food or a meal and internally he definitely did it just to see how Josh would feel about it. But after all, Josh was buying doughnuts so he really couldn't complain about Tyler snacking on lucky charms.
Neither were particularly healthy.
The hallways were empty when he got back, hand picking through the lucky charms to find the marshmallows. He was being lazy and barely even bothered to pick up his feet. He was tired but at least today had been a good day, Dallon and Brendon had brought him out to taco bell for lunch so really it couldn't have gotten any better.
His heart fluttered when he got to his normal classroom, he was slightly nervous for his essay now even though he knew he would do just fine. Josh would never fail him and not just because they were in a relationship together. Tyler shyly knocked on the door. "Hello? Mr.Dun." He said, already starting to turn the door knob.
"Uh-come in." Josh said shakily from the other side.
Tyler pushed the door open and frowned when he saw Mrs. Ryan sitting on Josh's desk, a doughnut wrapped in a napkin in her hand. Josh really had bought doughnuts, there was a big open box of them on his desk. All he could focus on was Mrs.Ryan though. Tyler tried his best not to gape. Jenna had definitely been right about something.
"Oh, hi mrs.Ryan." Tyler hugged his box of cereal closer, eyeing Mr.Dun carefully. Why was she here and why was she sitting on his desk?
"Hi, Tyler." She smiled sweetly, tapping her nails against the desk. "I haven't seen you around much, you did very well at your basketball game last week."
"Definitely did, the whole team was great." Mr.Dun added.
Tyler nodded, they did well. They'd completely destroyed the other team, not that Tyler was surprised. Despite having been nervous he knew they'd probably win.
"Are you liking Mr.Dun as your english
teacher?"
"He's really good." Tyler said shyly, moving over to his normal desk. "Not that you weren't a great teacher or anything."
"Thank you." She said, before turning back to Josh. Tyler sighed deeply and tried his best to eavesdrop as he sat down at his desk and begin arranging and taking what he needed out of his backpack.
"It was nice to see you Josh, it's been a while." She whispered, Tyler rolled his eyes.
"You too, see you tomorrow." Josh smiled, Tyler grimaced from behind Mrs.Ryan. He'd never hated her but he certainly had never liked her, now more than ever.
She left with a clack of high heels and Tyler sighed in relief when she shut the door behind her. He followed her with his eyes as did Josh. Tyler didn't like the way she'd been looking at him.
"Doughnut?" Josh asked, moving over to Tyler's desk with the box. Tyler did want one but he shook his head.
"Maybe later, I have a lot of cereal to eat." Tyler smiled and pointedly grabbed for his lucky charms.
"Clearly." Josh said, sitting on top of the desk beside Tyler's. "Did you have a good day?"
"Yeah, I did. I thought i'd be really nervous but I feel fine. Plus I completely crushed Pete in a one on one game in gym class."
"You're pretty competitive." Josh pointed out with a small smile.
Tyler shrugged. "I think I hate losing more then I like winning. Is that dumb?" Which was very true, he couldn't stand losing. He wasn't a sore loser though, which admittedly was a good quality of his. But he still hated losing even if he never really expressed it obviously.
"No." Josh shrugged. "it's an interesting mentality to have."
"Are you good at sports?" Tyler raised an eyebrow and leaned forward on his desk.
Josh smiled. "I can be, I can mostly hold my own."
Tyler would definitely be asking him for a one on one basketball game one day. "Hmm." He hummed and sat back a bit. "So when do I get my surprise?" Tyler asked, suddenly nervous to be explicitly crossing that barrier they'd broken on Friday.
"After you write your essay." Josh groaned as he sat up and walked over to his desk. Tyler could see the papers he'd be getting and gulped. He honestly wished Josh would just give him his surprise now but maybe getting a gift as a prize for doing a test would motivate him more.
Tyler smile. "Okay, can you like pinky swear this to me?" He asked childishly, he figured he might as well make Josh promise him. "Promise me im not going to fail, please and promise me i'm going to get my surprise."
Josh grinned and approached him once again. "If that'll make you feel better."
"I'm just a little nervous now that i'm actually here." Tyler said honestly.
"You're gonna do great okay sweetheart." Josh said softly, linking their fingers together. "You're very smart and plus i've seen your work, it's always been good."
Tyler nodded, curling his pinky around Josh's. "Yeah?"
"Yeah, of course. I wouldn't lie to you." Josh nodded and untangled their fingers from eachother. Josh went back over to his desk and grabbed the essay papers and slid the packet of papers on his desk. Tyler sighed shakily.
"Can I hold your hand for a second?" Tyler asked quietly, eyes gazing up at Josh's. He wasn't sure how far their intimacy could go but hugging and holding hands could definitely be platonic. That's all this way.
Josh crouched down beside him, very slowly and linked their fingers together, intertwining then. Tyler squeezed his hand hard. "Thank you." He whispered.
Josh smiled at him softly, his thumb stroking up and down Tyler's hand. "You've got all the time in the world okay? I'll even give you an extra 30 minutes if you need it."
"Can I eat while I write it?" Tyler asked, eyes scanning the front page on the pack of papers.
"Well you're not supposed to but I guess I can let it slide." Tyler nearly whined when Josh stood up and gently let go of his hand. Maybe he was trying to procrastinate but he really wanted Josh to talk to him, or to give him attention.
Tyler grinned. "Can I have a doughnut?"
Josh snorted from where he stood but passed Tyler the box anyways. "I thought you said you didn't want one."
"I changed my mind." Tyler smirked.
"You're cute, but get to writing. If you need some help ask."
"Fine." Tyler grinned, the blush on his cheeks never fading as he picked up his pencil nervously.
He sighed as Josh went back to his desk, this was going to take him far longer then he was expecting but he could do it. He trusted and believed in himself though. He was going to try his best and it would all work out.
*
"And......i'm.........done." Tyler said, dropping his pencil dramatically. He huffed out a breath, that had taken a really long. It hadn't been hard but it had just been so long. He'd used up most of not all of the time Josh had given him. He was glad to be done with it and he was glad that he really had nothing to be nervous about in the end. It had went well.
And surprisingly Josh hadn't distracted him too much, other then when he started eating a doughnut. Tyler may have started at him a little excessively then but other then that he'd stayed really focused.
Josh smiled at him in a way that made his cheeks heat up. He had no idea how Josh did it. "Well done, i'm proud of you. Did you reread everything you wrote?" He started standing up.
"Yes dad, I did." Tyler rolled his eyes and pushed his papers near the end of his desk. He didn't even realize what he'd said until Josh paused. "Mr.Dun?" Tyler frowned and looked up.
"Oh, shit, shit. Uh-sorry." Tyler stared at Josh, completely shocked with himself. Josh was staring right back at him, eye brows furrowed, no expression otherwise. Tyler couldn't stop talking and he couldn't stop touching his hair. "I didn't mean it like that you know? I mean I guess i could've but like not right then in that moment ha, uh-sorry. I-did that bother you? Please don't be mad at me I really didn't mean to say that, I know this is all platonic and you don't like me like that so I shouldn't push things. So I definitely shouldn't have said that." Tyler squeaked.
"Cause you're not my um, yeah." He coughed, awkwardly looking away. His face was bright red.
Josh ran a hand through his hair. "I- wow." He looked extremely overwhelmed. "Fuck, It's fine, don't worry about it. I mean technically I am your caregiver so if you wanted to start calling me daddy I wouldn't be opposed. Obviously. Your comfort is my priority."
Tyler's mouth went dry, he wasn't sure if he'd just made a big mistake or if he'd just made a really good one. He gaped at him. It wasn't that he thought Josh would've been opposed, it was just that calling Josh daddy seemed a lot less platonic then calling him Josh.
Josh paled. "Are you okay? Sorry if-"
"Y-You wouldn't be opposed?" Tyler stuttered out, quickly cutting him off, he was still mostly in shock. "It's just, I, thats not very platonic is it?"
"Are you sure that wouldn't bother you?" Tyler asked.
Josh seemed to sigh in relief and Tyler felt smaller then ever when Josh walked over and sat down beside him. It was ridiculous that a single person could have this effect on him. "No, honestly I prefer it. I find it feels more intimate and it demonstrates a lot of trust between."
Tyler trusted him, he nodded. "B-but I don't need to call you that all the time do I?"
Josh chucked softly and reached out for Tyler's hand, Tyler was so overwhelmed he was trembling slightly but he easily slid his hand into Josh's. "You don't need to." He said softly. "If you feel like calling me daddy just go for it, im your caregiver, I automatically assume that kind of role, you know?"
"So I can call you it even when i'm big, just because it feels right?"
"I mean, Tyler, can you even say the word?" Josh laughed. "You've been swerving around it for the past few minutes. Calling me dad was a joke, I got that part. Definitely didn't need to turn it into this whole conversation. But we did, were talking about it but you seem uncomfortable and I get why, you've never actually called anyone daddy. Have you?"
Tyler blushed furiously, he constantly referred to Josh as his daddy in his head. He looked at his hands. "Um-no."
"Yeah so I understand if you're kind of weird about it."
"B-but, I already think of you like that. As my daddy." Tyler whispered shyly, feeling himself go small. He was so embarrassed.
He definitely couldn't look at Josh but the inhale of breath he heard from beside him was enough to let him know that he was having some type of reaction. Tyler curled up internally, feeling a lot smaller then he did initially. Josh had gone very quiet but he still hadn't let go of Tyler's hand so he took that as a good sign.
"Do you think you could get away with coming to my house this weekend?" Josh asked suddenly, squeezing Tyler's hand.
Tyler's eyes snapped up immediately. "Wait what?"
"Just, I think we should spend time together outside of school. I live kind of far away so it's definitely safe at my house and seeing how we are together would be good for the both of us I think."
Tyler gaped at him again, eyes soft and wide. Josh wanted him to stay at his house, and meet Jim and spend time with him. He smiled bashfully, hiding behind his free hand. "Really?"
"Yeah! I' do really like you and our relationship is going to be kind of delicate if we only talk to eachother at school and over the phone. So, my house this weekend?"
Tyler grinned, he had no idea how he was going to be able to get there but he had to go. "i'll be there."
"Good." Josh nodded, and then continued. "and about the daddy thing. Please don't over think it, you're my little baby and i'm comfortable with calling you that. But don't force yourself to call me daddy."
"And I like being your little baby, daddy." Tyler admitted with a shy shrug. "I don' have to force myself, I promise."
And once again Josh was completely overwhelmed and mesmerized by him. He cleared his throat. "I-Okay, yeah. Good, i'm glad we're talking about this." Josh let go of his hand and stood up, grabbing his test off of his desk. Clearly flustered to some extent.
"I think I did okay." Tyler said, referring to his test.
Josh looked over the papers before nodding. "You definitely did, don't worry about it so much."
Tyler smiled widely. "So, did you really get me a surprise?" He asked, eager to know what Josh had gotten him and eager to move onto something less embarrassing.
"Uh-huh, it's not much but i'm sure you'll like it." Josh said, placing Tyler's test on his own desk. "It's actually in my office, I have to get it. I'd bring you with me so we could hang out in there but you're just supposed to be doing a test."
Tyler giggled. "Okay, i'll wait." He hadn't ever been given a surprise gift for essentially doing nothing. He was so excited, especially because this gift was from Josh.
Josh left him with a small smile and Tyler had to calm himself down. This was real, it was so unbelievably real. Ridiculously real and he was so happy that this had worked out and that him and Josh got along so well and naturally. Nothing felt forced and Tyler loved it, he was just genuinely so happy.
For a moment he was expecting Josh not to come back, that constant insecurity of being left in his head at all times but within minutes Josh was with him again, hiding something behind his back.
Tyler frowned. "Why do you hafta hide it from me?"
Josh chuckled and sat down at the desk beside him and kept his arms behind his back, ignoring the way Tyler kept angling his head to peak. "It wouldn't be a surprise otherwise, now would it?"
"Please."
"Hush, just close your eyes little bee." Josh said, Tyler reluctantly did so, pressing his shoes and knees against Josh's adjacent ones. He held out his hand.
"Where is it?" He mumbled impatiently, hands grabbing at the air.
Josh chuckled. "Right here." and Tyler gasped when he felt something soft and fluffy meet his hands. He immediately opened his eyes. Josh had gotten him a stuffed animal. "Oh my gosh!" He squeaked, and hugged it to his chest. "It's so cute." He stared at it with wide eyes. Josh had gotten him a mini golden retriever stuffed animal and it was adorable.
"Is this supposed to be Jim?" Tyler asked in awe, resting his chin on his new stuffie. He felt so warm and happy, Josh had really gotten him the perfect gift if he was being totally honest.
Josh nodded. "Yeah, I saw it and immediately thought of you. I figured since you haven't met him yet you might like this, even though you'll be meeting him this weekend."
"I love it." Tyler said sincerely. He wanted to give Josh the biggest hug possible and that's exactly what he did, normally he'd ask for a hug but right now he didn't even know how to process his own affection.
He was practically sitting on Josh's lap before he knew it, his stuffie squished between their chests, Josh gasped when he did it but didn't push him away. If anything he pulled him in tighter, letting Tyler wrap himself around him tightly. His hands cradled the back of his head, petting down his hair with ease.
This was by far the most intimate thing Tyler had ever done and he loved it so much, he never wanted to move again. He breathed in shakily, it probably hadn't been his best idea to straddle his teacher. But he really didn't care, the classroom door was locked anyways.
Tyler felt incredibly hot but he didn't move, he hid his face against Josh's neck and hugged him tighter. His legs were awkwardly in between Josh's spread ones but he ignored it and just focused on hugging him properly. "Thank you so much." Tyler whispered against his skin. He was nervous, he'd never been this close to another man. And Brendon and Dallon definitely didn't count, he'd never kiss either of them.
"You're welcome." Josh said softly, running his fingers up and down Tyler's back. Tyler could feel Josh's heart beat against his chest.
He softly pulled away. "Um, sorry." Tyler whispered, ready to get up.
Josh shook his head. "Shh, stay. This is comfortable."
"Are you sure?"
Josh tightened his grip on his waist and pulled him closer, Tyler gasped in surprise. "Yea, i'm very sure. This is fine. Are you comfortable?"
Tyler gulped but nodded, he was more comfortable then he could've ever expected. Their faces were insanely close to one another. Tyler could easily kiss him right now but he wouldn't, Josh wanted things to be platonic and he would keep it that way.
"Do you want a ride home?" Josh asked slowly, eyes filled with emotion. Tyler didn't know how to decipher what Josh was feeling at the moment but he hoped it was good.
He nodded, not meeting Josh's gaze. "Yes please. Walking home takes way too long."
Josh delicately pushed back one of his curls, tucking them behind Tyler's ear. Seemingly now aware of how close they actually were. "You look even cuter up close."
Tyler giggled helplessly, nervously. "Your hair looks brighter up close."
"Can I like, touch it?" Tyler asked, hands already on Josh's shoulders, ready to crawl up to his head.
Josh grinned without hesitation and said. "Go for it baby boy."
The blush on his cheeks was undeniable, he immediately reached to Josh's head and tangled his fingers through his hair, Josh inhaled but said nothing, his hands never moving from where they held Tyler. It was much softer then it looked and his curls were incredibly hard to comb through but Tyler loved it.
"It's nice." Tyler whispered.
"I'm thinking of going back to my natural hair colour."
"Really?"
"Yeah, my hair's super unhealthy from how much i've dyed it. I may just shave it off."
Tyler frowned. "But I like it all long and curly."
Josh chuckled and Tyler let his hands rest at the base of Josh's neck. "My hair grows back crazy fast."
"Good, but if you shave your head i'm shaving mine." Tyler decided, ruffling his own hair.
Josh smirked. "I really doubt it."
Suddenly someone's phone went off, Tyler figured it wasn't his the moment Josh groaned and hid his face against Tyler's shoulder. "I've really got to go, I have this family dinner tonight and I can't be late." He explained. "So, if you want that ride home we've got to leave now." He mumbled, Tyler had goosebumps from feeling Josh breath against his skin.
"Mkay, well we can leave now. I'll eat the rest of the doughnuts on the way." Tyler assured him.
Josh laughed. "You're gonna have to get off of me, not that I mind but I don't think I can carry you around like this without getting in trouble."
Tyler reluctantly slid off of his lap. "You're probably right." Tyler clutched his mini jim stuffed animal to his chest.
He was so lucky.
