The restaurant was buzzing with energy, laughter echoing from every corner as people shared meals and stories. Jungkook sat across from Jimin, their plates of food half-eaten. It was supposed to be a casual dinner, a rare moment of peace between their busy schedules, but Jungkook's appetite had vanished.

The waitress—a cheerful young woman with a warm smile—approached their table to check on them.

“Is everything okay here? Can I get you anything else?” she asked, her eyes lingering on Jimin.

Jimin’s dimpled smile lit up his face as he looked up at her. “Everything’s perfect, but you might make it better with a dessert recommendation,” he said, his voice playful.

The waitress giggled, twirling her pen between her fingers. “Well, I’d suggest the chocolate lava cake. It’s a fan favorite.”

Jimin nodded, his smile widening. “Sounds good. I’ll trust your judgment.”

Jungkook clenched his jaw, his grip tightening around his fork. He didn’t like this. Not one bit.

The waitress left with a flustered smile, and Jimin turned back to Jungkook, completely oblivious to the storm brewing across the table.

“You should try the cake too, Kook. It’s probably amazing,” Jimin said, casually sipping his drink.

Jungkook forced a tight-lipped smile. “I’m fine,” he muttered, stabbing a piece of chicken on his plate with unnecessary force.

Jimin raised an eyebrow. “Are you okay? You’ve been weirdly quiet since she came over.”

“I’m fine,” Jungkook repeated, his voice a little sharper this time.

Jimin leaned back in his chair, studying him. “You don’t sound fine. Did I do something?”

Jungkook hesitated, his heart pounding. He didn’t want to start an argument or ruin the evening, but the jealousy gnawed at him like an open wound.

“You were flirting,” Jungkook finally said, his voice low but firm.

Jimin blinked, caught off guard. “Flirting? With who?”

“The waitress,” Jungkook said, his eyes narrowing slightly. “You were practically glowing every time she spoke to you.”

Jimin stared at him for a moment before bursting into laughter.

“Kookie,” he said between chuckles, “I wasn’t flirting. I was just being nice.”

“It didn’t look like just being nice,” Jungkook shot back, his cheeks flushing. “You don’t smile at me like that.”

Jimin’s laughter faded, replaced by a soft, curious look. “Wait… are you jealous?”

Jungkook froze, his ears burning. “I’m not—no, I’m not jealous,” he stammered, but the redness creeping up his neck betrayed him.

Jimin leaned forward, resting his chin on his hand as a smirk tugged at his lips. “You are. You’re jealous.”

“Stop it,” Jungkook mumbled, avoiding Jimin’s gaze. “I just… I don’t like it when you give someone else that kind of attention.”

Jimin’s smirk softened into a gentle smile. “Kookie,” he said softly, “you know you’re the only one who matters to me, right?”

Jungkook’s eyes darted up to meet Jimin’s, searching for any sign of teasing. But Jimin’s expression was sincere, his eyes warm and full of something that made Jungkook’s heart race.

“Really?” Jungkook asked, his voice barely above a whisper.

“Really,” Jimin said, reaching across the table to place his hand over Jungkook’s. “I might tease, and I might joke around, but my heart’s already taken. And it’s you, Kookie. It’s always been you.”

Jungkook’s breath hitched, his chest tightening with a mix of relief and overwhelming emotion. “You mean that?”

Jimin nodded, giving his hand a reassuring squeeze. “I do. And I’m sorry if I made you feel otherwise. I’ll be more careful, okay?”

Jungkook nodded, his lips curving into a shy smile. The tension in his shoulders melted away, replaced by a warmth that spread through his entire being.

The waitress returned with their dessert, setting the plate between them. She smiled at Jimin, but this time, Jungkook didn’t feel the same pang of jealousy.

Because Jimin’s eyes never left him.
