Chapter One
My name is, well was Lorethan. I'm the Golden Faerie. Some of you know my story as my dearest Evelyn told it. Some of you might remember I forced her to free me, seeings how she works best under stress. A knife to her Lend's throat does that. Freeing me from the IPCA. It was true however that Vivian and Evelyn were the Empty Ones and had sent us to the birthplace of all paranormals, however that is no more. So years later we have returned in search of a specimen for the Light Queen's Revival. Someone ill willed and in need of help.
A female, a soul, of one in need.
I've searched all over, now I'm in a small rural town in the Houston Metro Area. Zip Code 77484. Waller High School. Lamorse Roberson. Or so I thought.
"Welcome to Waller ISD, Mr?" Asked the woman at the Attendance Office at the front section of the school. She was constantly staring. Not even blinking.
"Loreth." I reply simply with a small smile. She nodded and handed me my new Teacher ID. The previous teacher died in a car accident. My new job was a Mythical Creatures Class. And also the Gym and Athletic Classes.
As I walked to my class. A huge cluster of teenage students surrounded the halls. Every girl and some boys stared at me. My glamor to them was still as beautiful, Evelyn could see through every Paranormal's fake face. I wore mine, for the moment. I look and then notice a girl, her eyes closed. A coin levitating above her hands. Her hair in a messy bun, a red tint among the brown strands. Fair skin. I wondered what her eyes looked like. She wore white tights. A red hoodie that swallowed her and nearly touched her knees. Two girls sit among her as well watching her, and seemed to record her moving the coin. A dark skinned female with black pants, a light blue jacket and a green Attack on Titan shirt. Beside her a Hispanic girl with dark brown hip length hair and a white zip up hoodie.
A teacher then had then tapped the girl floating the coin's shoulder.
"I told you no, repeat No Magic Tricks!" He hollered at her.
"Sorry Mr. Field." Her voice so delicate, and yet injured. Her eyes an unusual Autumn Red. He sighed.
"Don't do it at least, when I'm not here." He said not believing what he was saying. She nodded.
He looked to me. "Ah! Mr.Loreth!" Said the same teacher who just scowled the young girl. "Follow me, I'll guide you to your classroom." I follow so agitated.
"Sorry you had to see that, she's a special case." He said.
"Special?"
"She said she was gifted from a faerie, or cursed by a demon or what not. Who even believes such rubbish." He said. Both of those species are real, not only did he mock me but her as well. I sensed magic on her, but not much.
As I follow the human to the room I notice the hallways decor. Many things of religion and culture. All races and other cultural beliefs. "Your room was decorated by Sandra Logan." He said turning on the light to my room, and handing me the key. I stepped inside and a white board covered one wall. A chalk board on another. A purple wall covered in book shelves behind my desk. An straight in front of me, a solid black wall with a white and golden lined crescent wrapped a sun with yellow and gold. From where I stood the paint strokes were visible. Calm, even and professional. I stepped to the painting and ran my hand over it.
"I see you like the painting I did." Said the voice of Sandra Logan. I turned and saw the girl who levitated the coin.
She was 5'10 maybe 11. Her hair reached her hips as well. She was moderately built. She had muscle. More chested than that of Evelyn. A B or even a C. She had bruises on her arms, one on her eye. Blood staining the inside of her higher eyelid like red eyeliner. Purple, blue, black and pinks looking like poorly done makeup.
"Ah, yes very fine work. How did you do it?" She stepped closer into the room.
"It just came to me Mr.Loreth." She said meekly.
"I see you're one of my students then?"
She nods. "Yes, First, and Fourth. An After School as well." Her voice stuttered as I approached her. I kind smile on my face as I brush her bangs away from her bruised eye.
"What a bruise." I muse. She relaxed slightly, her eyes closing a little. "What happened little one?" I ask my voice slowing.
"Sandra!" Yelled a voice. She snapped out of her daze and turned quickly to face a 6 foot girl with curly brown hair in a pony tail. The other girl ran in and gently held her in a headlock. "Engie-Chan!" Sandra Squeaked.
"Man your eye is really messed up huh? That girl got you good." Engie-Chan had said.
If I was correct than Sandra was with or on the same Basketball group based on the shirt Engie was wearing. It was set for this year. 2017.
"Yep she-she did." Sandra replied.
Engie pulled back slow. "Are you okay? You normally call me Engie-Kun. We all prefer -Kun because we're Tomboys. Is you Mom okay?"
Sandra shook her head. An walked out of the room, her red tint glissing as she walked.
"No." Mumbled Engie who held her hands to her chest in sorrow.
"May I ask what happened?"
Engie nodded staring. "Her Mom, Died. She had cancer. It's transmitted genetically, Sandra won't live to see 20." I look to the door. Not feeling guilty if I suddenly left Engie behind to take advantage of the situation. "I guess she'll have to sit out on tonight's game. See you then Coach R." She then ran out.
I sit at my desk, thankful it wasn't iron.
